Is Albertan Separatism Really All About Pipelines and Money? Personally I don’t think So, Put I’ll Wait and See – October 28, 2019,
Most providers, like to provide, for a male or female provider, it’s less about the money and more about the love, the respect, and the support. When most people get divorced it’s typically because the value that was once there somehow disappeared. In many instances in the modern era in Western societies, when two people get divorced, the individual who made the least amount of money during the marriage often is the person who suffers economically after the divorce.
Part of the reason a lot of women entered into the workforce is that the world is littered with stories of people who left their spouses only to learn how hard it is, to pay the bills every month. Being that I grew up Christian, what was often preached to women was to reconsider divorce unless your husband is physically abusive. Verbally abusive in the church was subjective, because if one side wasn’t holding their weight, it’s understandable why the other side might become verbally abusive, of course, this is where marriage counseling often came into play, with the church I attended.
The one common theme with irreconcilable differences in marriages revolved around economics. Now, although most people would prefer to frame economics all about the money, the truth is, it’s not. Economics revolves around how a person perceives of the world. Does an individual blame external problems, or do they accept blame even in situations when maybe they shouldn’t? Now, the fear of a collectivist is when the individual starts to accept his/her role in the collective.
Because the moment the individual starts to take personal responsibility, the individual then begins to distance themselves from the collectivists who’d rather blame external sources. Now, in the months and years ahead, it will be interested to see what happens in Western Canada, namely Alberta and Saskatchewan, because the mainstream media in Canada appears hell-bent on framing the Albertan Separatists movement in a manner Canada’s mainstream media is most comfortable.
Are Albertans Greedy? Is it really all about the Pipelines? Is it really all about the money, or maybe it’s about a lack of appreciation
During the election debates, I thought the current Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet made the most disrespectful statement when he said the following:
Blanchet says that to speed up climate action, provinces with emissions higher than a national average should pay into the new equalization fund.
He said: “the ones that are above the average pay the tax, the ones that are below the average receive the tax.”
Don Braid: The Bloc Quebecois plan that would ruin Alberta | TheHill
Now, if you’re not really into the subject of economics, the words used by Blanchet may have flown over your head, but for a person like me, those words cut deep. I want to remind the reader, I’m not an Albertan, I actually was born and raised in Ontario, I also am not a huge fan of burning fossil fuels in the future, however I don’t have the solution yet, I know there are many different solutions, but implementing these solutions are not only costly, but also require re-education and shrinking the size of the public sector.
Now, if the Quebecois is this serious about climate change or climate action, why would it want money from Western Canada? This the equivalent to a marriage where a spouse says they don’t want you, but they want your money and your resources. Now, being that I’m not an Albertan, I’m seriously considering making a trip up there to spend a few months in different Albertan cities to get a feeling of what’s going on there. Because, if I were an Albertan, I’d have to put a stop to this.
The Bank of Canada lowered interest Rates for Alberta, Plus Alberta is Landlocked and needs Canada to make money from oil?
I challenge that the Bank of Canada lowered interest rates for the benefit of Alberta, I invest in the energy sector and I can remember when I heard that apparently Stephen Harper via Stephen Poloz lowered interest rates to help the oil patch coup. I personally think it was nonsense, the reason interest rates were lowered was that the Canadian housing market was on the verge of deflating while Stephen Harper was gearing up for his re-election campaign. My main problem with Stephen Harpers re-election bid revolved around his real estate/housing policies, I thought it was a huge mistake for him to do that as it opened the flood gat for Justin Trudeau to promise all sorts of taxpayer-funded crap for voters.
Stephen Harper wants to add another 700,000 homeowners in Canada. Is that what we really need? | financialpost.com
The Conservatives want to push home ownership levels to 72.5 per cent, well above the current rate which is hovering close to 70 per cent
The truth of the matter was that oil prices did what oil prices ave always done, fluctuate and what Stephen Harper had forgotten about were the renters, some people don’t want to own a home. I volunteer with the elderly a lot of them view their home as a liability and want to rent, yes, propping up the housing market might get you votes from one demographic, but then you’re alienating another. I’m bringing this up, because I’m not sure what’s going on in the mind of the average Albertan.
Are Albertans resigned to their fate, do they simply like arguing, are they satisfied with being Quebec’s whipping-boy or have they become solution-oriented? It’s not like separation in Alberta would equate to massive changes to their economy. Whatever exists now, will still exist, Alberta also doesn’t owe Canada anything, the challenges Albert would face, would be obviously promoting their own currency, potentially using the USD and the CAD in the meantime until they figure out what that looks like, maybe crypto-currency or some resource-based money. I genuinely don’t think money will be a huge problem in Alberta, I actually think Albertans wouldn’t mind transition to being able to use the U.S dollars as opposed to being forced to use Canadian dollars.
Also Alberta borders with Montana, as an independent nation Albert can start bartering their wn independent deals with not only Canada but also with America. Trade to and from British Colombia will still have to go through Alberta, I assume, it’s unlikely that Saskatchewan will be hostile to Alberta, and truth be told Albertan Separatism will more than likely lead to Quebec wanting to separate also. The difference being with Quebec, I’m not so sure America will be so embracing of them.
Although America has it’s socialists, it’s important to remember that in America, their socialism is often funded and if it’s not funded the end results are seen and felt immediately. When an America State is broke, the Federal Government rarely comes to the rescue. Equalization Payments in Canada is why the appearance of public sector wealth exists in many parts of Canada. This reality is often hard to stomach for Canadian Leftists and this has less to do with the money itself and more to do with how a person perceives money.
You have to practice being fiscally responsible, furthermore, the people have to know that if their socialist policies don’t work as planned, austerity measures have to be on the table. In Quebec, it’s my belief that their abuse of the Canadian political system has left many of their citizens for the most part ignorant of the free market. Maxime Bernier was destroyed in his riding of Beauce by a Conservative who is pro-supply management. I remind the reader, that Beauce is emblematic of Quebec’s Conservatives.
In Alberta, there are of course the Jason Kenny type which dominates, but Albertans, for the most part, understand that protectionism has its faults. Meaning they’ll play the political game if it leads to a compromise, this, however, shouldn’t be confused with utter ignorance on the topic of free-market capitalism. I bring this up because Alberta being landlocked is similar to Switzerland being landlocked, sure it presents its’ challenges, sure it might hurt the oil patch, but the comprehension that the private sector will eventually find a way to solve problems, I think exists in Alberta.
Alberta’s small hardworking population size actually benefits them and let’s be honest, Eastern Canada, will have a hard time surviving economically if Western Canada separates. The mainstream media many of whom are situated in Ontario know that they’ll have to change how they report the news in the event Alberta Separates. The news will have to explain why Austerity measures will be necessary for Canada if Alberta leaves.
I’ve written about Canada artificially devaluing its currency for years, well if Alberta leaves, I’m not sure how the Canadian dollar will fair. Being that Albertan and even Saskatchewan separating equates to what would be those independent nations not having to hoard Canadian dollars, again this changes everything for Canada.
The downside to Alberta leaving Canada
Change isn’t easy, mental preparedness will be difficult, I’ve already written about Albertan Separatists now having the duty to paint a realistic picture for Alberta post-Canada. The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. The Jason Kenny types, by the way, will be fighting to make sure Albertan separatism doesn’t become reality. We all know Jason Kenny doesn’t want all that french he learned to go to waste.
So within Alberta, there will be people that say, things really aren’t that bad for Alberta, the media will tell Western Canada things really aren’t that bad and maybe Justin Trudeau might throw Western Canada a bone or 2 which many Albertans might view as progress, the challenge for Albertan separatists to show Albertans not only their potential as a nation but also their strength as a people. Separatism isn’t all about the money, it revolves around how individuals think about economics.
The Bloc’s war on Alberta: Why Quebec separatist party is specifically targeting the Western province | BationalPost.com
While Quebec and Alberta have often been ‘strange bedfellows’ over issues of provincial autonomy, Alberta’s push for pipelines has changed that
I wrote this article in response to an article written by Don Pittis. It’s my personal belief that the mainstream media want to stomp out Albertan Separatism so they don’t have to report the information for what it is.
Central bank must plot course for a divided Canada: Don Pittis | CBC
I remind the reader that Quebec has dominated Canada’s political system for a very long time, if this narrative changes and economic debates start to dominate the headlines, more people will start to become aware of media brainwashing. Of course, there will be people who are Leftist for life, the real problem is letting the genie out of the bottle, in case you’re wondering this is why gun control and universal health care don’t exist in America. When socialism is debated, when you can no longer sling racial or derogatory slurs at your opponent to win a debate, your socialism or social justice beliefs will get cornered and put into question.
Once a person comprehends the freedom and Liberty, once a person understands that the Government shouldn’t play the role of God, it’s hard to become a Leftist ever again because you’ll soon be awakened to the reality that you’re not thinking for yourself, you indeed have thought leaders who want to micromanage your life, governmental thought leader who assume they know what’s best for you, thought leaders like Bloc Québécois Leader Yves-François Blanchet who say things like “the ones that are above the average pay the tax, the ones that are below the average receive the tax.” thought leaders who have been using Albertan labor to finance their lavish lifestyles. You see in the end it’s not just about the money it’s about mind control, what I’m curious to discover is what’s going on in the mids of Albertans.
Interesting times ahead
