Andrew Scheer has a Michael Ignatieff Moment “You will never impose anything, you will not even win in Beauce!” – October 12, 2019,
After listening to the French Debate, I’ve come to the conclusion that Andrew Scheer is thin-skinned. I think he hides it well, I think that’s part of the reason he’s bland exterior even on the surface lacks any substance. I think Sheer keeps things bottled up and strikes when he thinks the time is right. Unfortunately for Scheer, this might not translate well for voters. So Andrew Scheer had his own Jack Layton, Michael Ignatieff moment and why this is important is because similar to Jack Layton, when the then Liberals deemed it extremely important to exterminate Stephen Harper, Michael Ignatieff was rather annoyed with NDP, who similar to Maxime Bernier were splitting the opposition vote.
Because Jack Layton was sending subtle jabs at Michael Ignatieff at all angles and the entitlement thinking of the Liberals was similar to the entitlement thinking of the current Conservatives; which was the current Prime Minister must be defeated, Michael Ignatieff said what he assumed everyone was thinking which was something like “stop ruining it for us Jack Layton, can’t you see I’m trying to defeat this slimeball Prime Minister, would you please shut up and let me do my job. Well, for the record when Michael Ignatieff made the mistake of talking down to the Late Jack Layton, that was the year when the NDP made their presence felt in the election surpassing the Liberals in Federal votes.
If you’re wondering why Justin Trudeau refuses to step down, think for a moment in your head if Justin Trudeau stepped down, who would the Liberals have to compete against the Conservatives? If you answered nobody worth voting for, you’d be 100% correct. Well, the Conservatives know this, the entire Liberal establishment knows this, most of Canada may not be consciously aware of this, but this is the current reality. When economic issues start to dominate headlines, it’s very hard for the Liberals to talk about socialism.
Bill Clinton, Jean Chretien, Paul Martin these Left-leaning types had to put the economy front and center in order to get re-elected because the reality is, the cost of living typically doesn’t go up under Conservative leadership and when Canadians get accustomed to this, unless you can find a Justin Trudeau type that can inspire people in other ways, good luck with all that socialists communist, authoritarian crap.
Remember with the Obama, Justin Trudeau type they appeal to younger and other demographics who’d otherwise not vote. Although Conservatives often talk about splitting the vote, Leftists have been able to grow their followers because of vote splitting.
Now, what Maxime Bernier is doing is he’s getting under Scheer’s skin with his straight talk. Now, for the Conservative Party, Maxime is a pest, because he’s saying everything, every Conservative knows already. Remember the Conservative Party of Canada panders to special interest groups, Maxime isnt doing this, so if you’re a Moderate Conservative, you’re trying to tiptoe on issues, because you’re assuming that if you don’t frame your words in the right phrases you’ll be unelectable.
Maxime Bernier doesn’t have to carry that burden, similar to Jack Layton not having to carry the Liberal Burden of catering to the moderate Conservative voters. Now, personally I think Andrew Scheer made a mistake, however because that debate was in French, fewer people would have heard about it. However, narcity.com interestingly enough wrote an article about it, which I thought was strange
When it was time for Maxime Bernier, leader of the PPC, to speak, he began by saying, “We will impose…”, but he didn’t have time to finish.
Andrew Scheer, Conservative Party leader, interrupted him with a particularly scathing remark, “You will never impose anything, you will not even win in Beauce!”
Ouch…
Andrew Scheer Totally Burned Maxime Bernier During The French Leaders’ Debate | narcity.com
I gotta be honest I didn’t really see or feel the ouch…? Maxime is a very seasoned politician, who understands that voters don’t expect politicians do be perfect. It’s not like Scheer did to Maxime what Brian Mulroney against John Turner. What Mulroney did to Turner led to a decade of dominance for the then Conservatives and although Liberals will say Trudeau would have beat Mulroney, the reality is nobody knows, Mulroney was no slouch. Maxime Bernier leader of the People’s Party of Canada is not a short seller, he’s more of a traditional Conservative, if he’s wrong about something or learns of something later, he admits it, he’s very honest with himself and it shows on the television screen.
“You had an option, sir” (sometimes remembered as You had a choice, sir) was a phrase used by Brian Mulroney against John Turner during the English-language leaders debate in the 1984 Canadian federal election.
I actually think Scheer and Jagmet Singh have similar problems, they’re both very young for politicians. Jagmet comes across more as a person that doesn’t understand Canada’s Political system whereas Scheer doesn’t seem to understand the Canadian voter. In Canada we’ve been very blessed, especially when you compare our standard of living to other nations, the voter all Canadian voters deep down know this and that’s why personality plays such a huge role in Canadian politics.
Even if Canadians don’t like you right away, once they’re introduced to you, chances are they’ll let you into their homes. But if you’re proven to be stiff, they’ll often never want to see you again. Because as Canadian we expect our quality of life to remain good. If we feel our quality of life won’t change much with you as a leader we’ll give you a shot. Maxime Bernier is the most feared by the Leftist media because he checks off everything for what Canadians want in a Prime Minister. Scheer probably feels it too. Secretly, Justin Trudeau is happy he doesn’t have to face-off with Maxime.
I think deep down inside Scheer feels like the odd man out, and I think that’s why when the opportunity presented itself Scheer decided to take a shot at Maxime. The interesting thing is that, I have the People’s Party of Canada as a dominant political party in the 2023 election and I anticipate this whether or not Scheer beats Justin Trudeau in 2019. I think Maxime Bernier is the future Prime minister of Canada if he wants it. I don’t know if now is his time, but what I do know is Scheer doesn’t have the “it” factor.
If Scheer wins it’s because Canadians really hate Trudeau. People like me obviously want Trudeau out, but there are a lot of nut-job voters that don’t appear to comprehend the challenges facing the Canadian economy. I genuinely don’t know what other Canadians will do, I don’t know who they’ll vote for. But I don’t think Scheer should assume that if he’s Prime minister that he’ll be liked by even his own base. Scheer is basically there to beat Trudeau and in my opinion, Scheer is in a no-win position whether or not he beats Trudeau.
I don’t deem it wise Scheer go down the path of Michael Ignatieff, most Conservative voters prefer Maxime, and are only voting for Scheer to beat Trudeau. Scheer shouldn’t forget that, because even if he wins, and becomes PM, every mistake Scheer makes will be blown out of proportion by the Liberal media. If Canadians get rid of Trudeau it will be an indication that they’re tired of Leftist authoritarianism and that wouldn’t be good for Liberals, The NDP, The Greens or the Conservatives. It might be hard for most people to see now, but Trudeau similar to his dad, Pierre Trudeau has divided this country.
The difference being we’re no longer in the 1970s and 1980s, there’s too much information a Canadians are consuming it at an alarming rate Canadian voters are getting smarter, and job security and job protectionism differ in this era. after this climate change nonsense is debunked, socialist all over the world are going to have a difficult time controlling the young, information favors Liberty, even amongst the cool crowd, the smartest cool kid dominates. Trudeau was the cool kid, now Trudeau’s coolness is wearing off and what comes after that, in my opinion, is a move towards Liberty.
Now, this move towards Liberty is gradual it’s not immediate, but once a large enough segment of the Canadian population gets it, well Canada will enter into a period of euphoria, I should say I certain segment of the Canadian population will enter into this euphoric Liberty movement, it takes a level of sophistication to understand Liberty, many will have a hard time pinpointing what the liberty movement is. But, that’s what I see Maxime Bernier ushering into Canadian politics. For now, we’re stuck with this B.S
