The Benefits of Employing Canadians Shrinking With Every Liberal Law Passed – Asking an employee to get a sick note is a ‘public health risk,’ says experts – October 12, 2019,
I’m curious about what will happen to entry-level job positions in Canada in the future because a lot of the job vacancies in Canada exist in the skilled trades. In these areas of employment because of the profit margins, the owners may be able to swallow the losses, but with the more small-mid-sized businesses I wonder, I’m curious to see what will happen. I actually think The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) which is the entity that called the practice of Asking an employee to get a sick note a “public health risk” is aware of who pays income taxes?
Being that Canada has Universal Health Care, The Canadian Medical Association (CMA) more than likely wouldn’t be too familiar with the inner workings of a real private sector. At some point, almost everyone with means gives money or resources to the health care industry. Een in America where health care is viewed as private, the amount of money that’s flowed into health care, doesn’t qualify it as an industry the government should be taking economic advice from. They’re for obvious reason reasons trying to alleviate themselves from the responsibility of having to get in-between employer-employee disputes.
In my opinion, why they came out with this information that you can read below, is because the government has incentivized employees to take time off of work with pay, and employees are taking advantage of it. Employers already of limits on what they can do and quite frankly one government agency is looking out for another government agency and the Private sector gets the shaft, because remember under the law there are restrictions on what grounds an employer can fire an employee. So, again the larger companies can swallow the losses, the smaller and mid-sized companies, well, we’ll see if this has any impact.
