Canada has a SERIOUS entitlement and Law ENFORCEMENT Problem: Metro Inc. is seeking an injunction against unionized striking workers picketing its warehouse and preventing deliveries – August 27, 2023
Now that the data is coming out, more and more people are starting to realize that criminality is actually only coming for a very TINY fraction of the public, which says a lot about how far humanity has come. These numbers are holding steady in countries with or without WELFARE States, equating to the public actually being WRONG about theft being a poverty-related issue.
It appears that theft is mostly coming from people who indeed simply could be REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE, which is the right of every human however if LAW ENFORCEMENT could concentrate on criminals instead of the law-abiding, we could be living in a paradise VERY SOON.
What does this have to do with the Metro Inc. strike? It says to me that automation could replace many workers, or as I’ve stated in prior posts, self-checkout machines could replace 10 employees with 2 or 3 employees and a few security guards.
There are even self-checkout machines in some COSTCOs Now, this hasn’t lessened Costco’s workforce because Cosco currently doesn’t have a union problem. You have to remember that unions take money from workers’ paychecks, and these usually obese union bosses have to justify their value, so whenever necessary, these union bosses will make ridiculous demands from employers on behalf of the people they represent because, after all, it’s a negotiation process.
Now, this becomes more complicated because the workers on strike, will not want to back down from their initial demand, and this is where the LACK OF FLEXIBILITY for employers gets baked into the cake.
Now, truth be told, Metro Inc., in this circumstance, should be allowed to fire EVERY SINGLE worker that is disrupting its operations; striking is one thing, but preventing the product from coming and going is something else because in case you’re unaware margins for a grocery store are very small, meaning that a grocery store is DEPENDENT on volume.
So if Metro Inc. workers on strike are preventing product from moving, especially products that can spoil, well, that’s cutting into the profits it can pay its workers in the future. Recently the world heard about the victory for UPS workers, but what most people don’t know are the SPECIFICS.
The specifics of the UPS deal state that workers will get $1.50 an-hour pay increase, but everyone is making it seem like UPS workers will be taking home $100,000+ per year, which is FALSE.
What UPS did was virtue signal, as their benefits packages now equate to about $100,000+ per year, but their actual pay I think, is about $22 per hour and it’s mostly for the FULL-TIME drivers.
Being that most delivery drivers are men who typically don’t exhaust company benefits, I’d say UPS was smart with what they did, by PROMOTING the $100,000+ pay increase, but Metro Inc. has a very large FEMALE workforce and anyone who knows about group benefits, knows that women typically exhaust every available group benefit, which will lead to higher insurance premiums for the employer.
If you’re confused with what I mean, I’ll explain that in Canada, most employers offer dental insurance, but most men will not use their dental, while most of the women will.
What this means is higher insurance premiums for the employer. That’s only ONE benefit; other benefits like PAID SICK LEAVE exist. In which employees are paid not to do anything, social justice hurrah, but this is how employers end up leaving Canada and the United States
As I like to point out, Canada is now very dependent on the strength of its currency, as Canadians, based on our current economic model and small population, do not have the ability to make or manufacture most of what we consume.
As I’m writing this, I’m imagining a world in which law enforcement is PERMITTED to do its job without ever-evolving political consequences, which could now include losing your job as a police officer for NOT calling someone by their PREFERRED gender pronoun.
Metro Inc. had to make a public statement because law enforcement isn’t protecting private property. Obviously, the striking workers are taking a pay cut, and they want these negotiations to come to an end, so I assume the goal is to make Metro Inc. feel it in their pocketbooks.
But again, this is ILLEGAL and should be viewed as an illegal action that shouldn’t require an injunction in order for the police to do their jobs, but that’s where we are now.
Interesting times ahead!
