CompleteTax Review Is It a Scam
I was asked today what I think about Complete Tax and if I think it’s a scam. My answer is NO! They’re very professional they have all the standard features that online tax providers have. They’ve also have been around for quite some time.
How does CompleteTax compare to its competitors?
I’ve used TaxAct and H&RBlock’s tax service in the past mainly because I write reviews as a guest blogger for many companies. In all fairness TaxAct, H&RBlock and CompleteTax in my opinion are all great choices. There is absolutely nothing wrong with using CompleteTax.com they have minimal complaints and most complaints if any usually stem from users not filing there taxes correctly or users having complicated tax issues in which it probably would have been a better idea for them to have gotten a professional to file their taxes for them.
Final Thoughts on CompleteTax.com
Complete Tax like many others tax software’s do have a free plan and premium plans, everything can be done online they have fast customer support when I contacted them, and you only pay when you file with their premium offers. I see no area to complain about them in. I will be using them this year to do my taxes and quite possibly I will use them in 2013. If you were wondering if they’re a scam I’m letting you know that at least for right now they are not. If you have any issues with them please let me know so I can update this blog. Thank you and I wish you all the best in 2012.

I was a loyal customer of CompleteTax.com for years and was very happy with their services. Unfortunately this tax year they have lost both my fiance and myself as customers. Long story short, you are able to start your return and go back to it anytime. You can adjust things, add things, ect. Nothing is final until it’s e-filed. They also have an option to have your filing fee’s deducted from your return amount, which is great, as alot of people just don’t have the extra money lying around to file taxes. I filed my taxes with them this year with no problem, but I elected to pay with a credit card for my own return. My fiance did not fare so well. I entered all of his information in for his return and together we reviewed and attempted to file. Everything was going smoothly. They have a 5 step process, and until you pay for your tax return you are not aloud to view or print it. Well we completed all the steps including a new this year, “consent form” that is supposedly “not required” wherein they are aloud to share your tax information? This was new, but we noticed that he could not have his filing fee deducted unless we approved this option. We approved it. We passed though the payment window, printed our finished return and were given a Declaration Control Number (DCN), which is the absolute last step. After that, you select E-file and your return is submitted to the IRS. Well something happened and we were re-directed back the the “consent form” again. We just selected continue as we had already completed the payment process and were filing. Well some kind of glitch must have taken place as from that point after we were unable to file without paying out right with a credit card. Something was wrong. We already printed our FINISHED return and were given a DCN. How are we ending up not being able to view the return? The payment option was already approved! Well I contacted their online assistance and between 10 waits between each response from their “tech” (I wont name names, I know it’s probably not this guys fault). But I was told that I either had to pay with a CC or re-do the ENTIRE return from scratch!! WHAT? How can a consent form that I ALREADY provided signature for cause me to have to re-do the entire return. You are able to go back and alter ANY part of the return until after it’s e-filed. After it’s e-filed as I’m sure you all know, you have to file an ammendment. Well we never got that far. WHY am I having to re-do an entire return that was already given a DCN and printed, because of a form that you type in your first name for consent?? Something isn’t right here. I’m thinking they are using this “glitch” so that exasperated consumers who have already gone through the stress of filing an entire return will just decide “hey, I don’t want to re=do the whole thing, I’ll jsut pay the filing fee with my credit card.” I’m sorry, but this is stupid. How can a simple form cause you to have to re-do and ENTIRE return. Especially when said form had already been completed and their site was the cause of the problem? I’m not paying with a credit card. I also will not re-do my fiance’s entire return on their site. I will find a new site to re-enter the entire thing. I’m very disappointed and hope no one else will have to go through the stress on tax day that I am dealing with . Especially since I have started this return months ago with complete tax. All I had to do waa enter bank information for direct deposit of benefits and hit file. Now look? I’m having to file and entire new return on tax day. Laughable if it wasn’t so sad. I am so pissed with complete tax.
