Defund The CBC, Lisa Xing Corporate Welfare Pot Legalization Propaganda Article – October 18, 2019
Currently, The Premier of Ontario Canada is Doug Ford, who is pro-supply management, which is basically a corporatist welfare scheme that allows the government to price fix consumer items, the government deems will be profitable for Government coughers. Canada has Crown Corporation called the Liquor Control Board of Ontario, it’s a Crown corporation that retails and distributes alcoholic beverages throughout the Canadian province of Ontario.
The U.S State of New York is known as a pretty Liberal Progressive State and if Ontarians had their way the LCBO would be put out of business because even the Socialist Republic of New York State, with a depreciated Loonie, sells Liquor cheaper than Ontario does. It’s so much cheaper to buy Liquor in New York State than Ontario, that thee Ontario, New York border is closely guarded and Canadians can expect to pay huge tariffs in the forms of duties and taxes if they dare to go against the LCBO. For the most part, Ontarians put up with this nonsense because of the manufacturing process of Liquor.
Cannabis is a freaking plant, it’s a plant, I know people personally who like to grow things just for fun, just for the experience, also a lot of Ontarians are very social, which means people talk and if people, namely young people know they’re being price gouged they’re going to weigh their options. Now, it’s extremely hard for me to imagine that Lisa Xing is this ignorant to the fact. that she would write something like the following:
A year after the federal government legalized recreational pot, Ontario trails the other provinces in its plan to distribute and sell the product, according to some industry watchers and experts.
And that has allowed the black market to thrive.
“At this point, we’re lagging the most behind,” said Michael Armstrong, associate professor at the Goodman School of Business at Brock University.
The main issue? A lack of physical store locations.
Why Ontario smokers still flock to the black market 1 year into pot legalization | CBC
Ontario’s prices similar to any Leftist sh*t-hole revolves around Government price gouging consumers. Alberta is successful primarily because it allowed the private sector to flourish without government regulations. In Ontario, people are being arrested for what Albertans are doing freely. But you see, the Lisa Xing article revolves around demonizing Doug Ford To illustrate my point notice the little time Lisa Xing spends on explaining why Albertan cannabis market is flourishing while Britsh Colombia and Ontario stagnate
Alberta, opting to go the route of private retail sales, lists more than 300 pot shops in the province. In July 2019, Statistics Canada reported legal cannabis sales surpassed $21 million there, compared to $29.6 million in Ontario, which has more than three times the population.
British Columbia’s private retail stores have also been slow to open, but the province now has 85.Why Ontario smokers still flock to the black market 1 year into pot legalization | CBC
CBC is a Crown Corporation(Publically owned, State-owned Corporation), they don’t know how to pay their bills, if the CBC were to be privatized it would probably go bankrupt in less than 5 years, I’m being generous when I say 5 years by the way. So it’s in Lisa Xing’s best interests not to detail why Ontario’s Cannabis market is struggling while Albertas is flourishing. Want to know why prices are so high, watch the video below.
Now, most Socialists understand the free market, however, they don’t want consumers to understand it, because of that would upset their apple cart. People forget that prices are high because Canadian taxpayers are being forced to finance/pay the bills of the Public Sector. For the most part, Liberals have been in charge of Ontario and the NDP has been in charge of B.C, is it a coincidence that the provinces run by Leftists have unnecessary price-inflations in areas of the economy that Alberta does not?
In closing, the CBC is fully aware of what’s going on and their article is nothing more than propaganda to demonize Doug Ford and to prevent the monopoly from being exposed. I don’t smoke nor do I consume pot, so I have no skin in the game, but Progressive policies I expect will be put to the test with Cannabis consumers in the years ahead.
Defund the CBC, I understand if this article was written by the HuffPost, thestar.com or some other government bailed out, supposedly privatized media outlet, but CBC is the STATE-BROADCASTER which means they’re supposed to educate readers, they’re supposed to be our Canadian equivalent to US donations dependent PBS. This is why a State-owned broadcaster is a bad idea, the writers are biased and have their own political motives. It’s time to defund the CBC!
Interesting times ahead
