Economically Speaking Canada Still Has To EXPORT Most of its Garbage Because The DOMESTIC Value of Loonie Mirrors the HOUSING MARKET – Justin Trudeau’s War On Plastic Equates To More EXPORTED Waste – August 30, 2023
In China, as an example, they separate the Renembi (Domestic currency) from the Yuan (China’s internationally traded currency) and although China’s reasoning for this is likely capital controls, it does help most people comprehend the difference between the value of a currency domestically, vs. what it’s trading for INTERNATIONALLY.
The current INTERNATIONAL strength of the loonie allows Canadians to IMPORT things they NO LONGER have the ability to manufacturer themselves. One can make the argument, well, if China stops exporting their economy will collapse also, this is true, but only if you’re doing honest accounting of what’s going on.
No, it’s no secret China has a waste management problem, however what can be recycled is recycled and reused IN CHINA, whereas because Canada has a shrinking manufacturing base, most of what Canadians imagine is being recycled isn’t being recycled, because there’s no demand for the recycled materials IN Canada.
In 2019, Canadians produced more garbage per capita than any other country. What’s worse is that we’re sending that waste to developing countries. Between 2017–22, Canadians shipped more than 2,300 metric tons of garbage overseas.
Prior to Canada’s government becoming so large, one companies trash was another companies treasure, which would also create it’s own market, as an example if you living a populated city, you have an old electronic appliance that quite possibly malfunctioned or you simply don’t want it anymore, and you leave it on your lawn, don’t be surprised that if within a few hours someone with a truck drives by and scopes it up.
Some appliances even have GOLD, platinum, silver and palladium inside of them and most of the time when an appliance stops working it’s one or two cheap parts that need to be replaced. Appliance Mechanics know this and so this is how many of them make their living.
Recycling is a part of the capitalist experience, why mine minerals when I can recycle them for less? Gold and silver are perfect examples, people reuse thse precious metals over and over again, ALL plastics can actually be reused over and over again, why can’t most plastics be reused in Canada, because we bankrupted most of our manufacturing.
Before Justin Trudeau went to war on fossil fuels, one can argue the labor unions went to war on fossil fuels, demanding that if PRIVATE companies couldn’t pay the union pay, then those companies shouldn’t be in business? I remember hearing those words for the time and immediately comprehending how IGNORANT these people are.
If as an individual you don’t want to be paid less than a certain amount of money, that’s fine, but to use the force of GOVERNMENT to price out entire industries to meet your IDEOLOGICAL goals, that’s UNSUSTAINABLE.
Now, that pricing out entire industries in Canada, has been normalized, the Left Wingers always looking to destroy productivity, found an ideal to worship called “climate change.” Because China still sends us consumer goods, it’s only natural that the Left Wingers imagine that their progressive ideals worked.
In fact Progressive ideals have equated to more pollution, because China, Vietnam and other countries, have no emission standards, and what’s best is that they’re out of sight and out of mind. The Leftists in Canada can only bash Canadian industries because Canadian politician’s are scared to enforce the law and push back on false narratives.
But these same leftist voters will claim housing is a RIGHT, as if housing doesn’t require a MANUFACTURING process. You’d be shocked to learn how many imported items are needed to build a home in Canada, add that to the government regulations that profit from each building phase and you’ll get an idea of why housing is so expensive in Canada.
Lots of WASTE goes into building and MAINTAINING a home and this waste is being EXPORTED which contributes to pollution, the cruise industry is doing it’s best to lower emissions, but people tend to forget how much pollution these commercial boats use to import and export goods.
So when Trudeau says he is phasing out plastics and replacing these plastics with something cleaner, you should be asking can this “cleaning” alternative be recycled and reused. Biodegradable isn’t always what you think it is, it’s not a perfect process and in fact at times when it’s broken down it can create additional unforeseen problems.
Biodegradable essentially means that an item can be broken down into increasingly smaller pieces by bacteria, fungi or microbes to be reabsorbed by the surrounding environment, ideally without causing any pollution. But this isn’t what you think it is…
Choosing products with packaging that claims to be “biodegradable” or “compostable” might mean that they degrade only under special conditions, and could complicate recycling efforts. Keyword in all of this “recycling efforts” again not everything biodegradable can be recycled a lot of it ends up in the landfills, which in the case of Canada equate to Canadians EXPORTING their waste.
We’re living in a virtue signaling era, it’s actually quite depressing to observe, because a lot of Canadians are volunteering themselves to be brainwashed, because they’re too lazy to do their own research. Justin Trudeau is notorious for getting drunk, for all we know his substance abuse led to the challenges he’s experiencing in his marriage.
Justin Trudeau never had to work a hard day in his life, and he’s never had to make payroll or run a business. When you’re in government, lower IQ individuals tend to imagine, that “hey now I’m the Prime Minster I have an unlimited piggybank and I can buy votes forever, why didn’t anyone think of this before” No Trudeau, you moron a lot of politicans thought of it before, however most were smart enough to realize that there’s no such thing as a free lunch.
I always like to remind people about what happened ECONOMICALLY in Venezuela, their problems didn’t happen over night, it was progression, until one day Venezuelans found themselves dependent on IMPORTS, eventually Chavez died and his replacement, ignored the reality that Venezuela had increasingly become dependent on Imports and then the price of oil dropped and Venezuela’s only major export was oil, so their currency dropped with the price of oil which made IMPORTS more expensive, but because their Central Bank was PURELY political, instead of raising interest rates, the Venezuelan government PRINTED money, that the forex exchange markets didn’t want.
The worst part of virtue signaling is that if you embrace that type of thinking, you feel the need to take your ideal to the APEX. I’m doing this for the greater good of humanity, the lunatic politician will convince himself, when, no, the politician was merely attempting to be an idol someone others will worship.
Interesting times ahead!
