It’s The Economy Stupid: The truth behind skyrocketing Conservative party membership sales – June 28, 2022,
When Justin Trudeau beat Stephen Harper in 2015, although I didn’t like the economy personally, the reality is that the Canadian economy was doing quite well, in comparison to most other developed nations. It’s only natural when the economy is doing well for people, many of whom never experienced an economic downturn, to suppose the economy will remain the same INDEFINITELY no matter who the Prime Minister was.
Trudeau said loud and clear he would run deficits because interest rates were low and he would legalize marijuana. I don’t smoke ‘weed’ but I have friends and family who do and many of them voted for Justin Trudeau in 2015, just because of that one issue. I by the way, with my hypocrite self voted for Stephen Harper in 2015. At the time I had planned to vote for the Libertarian Party of Canada, but I’ve never liked their work ethic, so although I disagreed with Harper on a lot of things, I still voted for him.
Justin Trudeau won in a landslide, formed a majority government and the Canadian economy has been sliding ever since. Where Justin Trudeau got luck was in 2016 the U.S voter voted for Donald J.Trump. The U.S is Canada’s largest trading partner and even if you don’t like the guy, Donald Trump’s economy which included REGULATION CUTS, led to an economic boom in the United States, which Canada benefited from.
In 2020 by hook or by crook Joe Biden beats Donald Trump and adopts a similar governing style as Justin Trudeau, the most damaging of which included a war on fossil fuels. Candidate Justin Trudeau or maybe it was political hopeful Justin Trudeau said out loud, that he admired China’s basic dictatorship because in Trudeau’s ignorant mind he imagined the Chinese Communist Party could steer their economy in any direction they felt like it.
Since becoming Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has POLITICIZED the Canadian economy, going as far as freezing bank accounts of law-abiding people who disagree with him. It should be noted that a “cult of personality” still exists in 2022, and no matter what tyrannical Justin Trudeau does there will be people who justify and support his actions.
The Trudeau supporters will convince themselves that what Trudeau is doing is for the GREATER good of the country, and this is important to comprehend because even these people might stop showing up for Justin Trudeau if their standard of living is at risk. I think it’s silly to imagine the Conservative Party support is booming for any reason other than the economy.
People are gravitating mostly to Pierre Poilievre because Pierre Poilievre is focused on the ECONOMY, it’s the economy STUPID! Social justice, green agenda, and world economic forum are all of that garbage people like ME focus on, but the average Canadian has things to do, people to impress, and their life to live. The last thing these people want is some idiot politician destroying the MONEY!
Most people imagine the Canadian economy should work on AUTOPILOT and when it’s not, they blame the person in charge. Why are gas prices, food prices, housing prices, travel expenses, and the overall cost of living so high all of a sudden? Even if these people imagine that the private sector is evil and are raising prices, they’ll blame Trudeau for allowing it to happen! The leader has tricked us! they’ll tell themselves, he’s in bed with those evil Capitalists, we’re going to punish him for sleeping with the enemy! If you’re wondering this is the exact reason why low-IQ politicians instinctively think price controls as a quick fix.
Where Pierre Poilievre comes in, are the people, willing to understand what’s going on. ECONOMICS IS BORING! When it’s not boring is when you’re getting poorer and you want ANSWERS. Not only do you want answers you want immediate answers that will calm the angst, anger, and frustration you’re feeling. The people who don’t believe in economics are looking at things from a pragmatic perspective, they’re saying to themselves, okay maybe I voted for this clown Trudeau in the past, but he’s bankrupting me and my family so please, somebody, anybody get this evil and/or pathetic weak man out of office.
As I like to point out, the Conservative Party has the stronger BRAND recognition in Canada. I’ve been saying for years, that the Conservative Party should ignore social Conservative and stick to what works, which is the economy. Sure every once in a while they’re going to lose, but with consistent messaging, the Conservative Party especially moving forward in the digital age is poised to be a well-oiled machine!
Interesting times ahead!
