Jason Kenney A fair deal now speech reviewed
Future investment, or how I will invest in Canada in the coming years, is heavily dependent on Alberta. This past Federal election, I voted for Maxime Bernier with the expectation that he would get less than 1% of the total votes if Jason Kenney Conservtivsm is what Albertans want, I suspect the long term outlook for the province will be quite the challenge. Things can change, I actually don’t think that Justin Trudeau’s vision for Canada will stick, I also don’t think the NDP or the Greens moving forward will gain much traction, I actually do think that the Conservatives can win a future election, it’s just that things may have to get a lot worse in Canada for it to happen.
Although in America, the writers will say Barack Obama had the U.S economy recovering, the truth was he didn’t, suicides were up in America under Barack Obama, he killed and starved a lot of Americans out of work, with us men, if we can’t work and support our families when tend to go crazy, when women start feeling economically insecure, women also become suicidal and if children watch as their standard of living decreases, these children may grow up resentful. The free market isn’t destroying Alberta’s economy the Liberal Government is.
U.S. Suicide Rate Surges to a 30-Year High (2016) | nytimes.com
There are a lot of people in Canada who are anti-free-market, these people aren’t only on the Left side of the political aisle they’re also on the Right, men especially like to work and have an abundance of job options available to them, to work, that’s how most men are built and when the government makes a decision to deem doing certain types of work illegal, a lot of men lose their place in the world.
Like imagine you spent 30 years of your life working in oil and one day he hears that the place you’re working for is closing its doors and not just that most of the industries you’re knowledgable about are also closing their doors, not because they’re not profitable but because the government is creating an atmosphere to make them uncompetitive? What do you as an individual do then? This is the reality that is haunting Alberta’s economy and I what I hear listening to Jason Kenney is that he’s okay going down with the ship.
It’s important to remember that with all the economic devastation haunting Alberta, their economy was still able to turn a profit, primarily because a large number of Albertan MPs on the Conservative side of the aisle, understand how real wealth is generated. So, for a lot of Conservatives in Alberta, they can manage whatever Trudeau throws at them, the problem, however, is public perception.
How and Why Rachel Notley Won Over Voters in 2015
A few years back, for the life of me I couldn’t understand why Alberta, wasn’t able to invest the money it made to take care of its citizens, it was actually Rachel Notley who forced me to investigate further. Rachel Notley, used the ignorance of the masses, to gain support. What a lot of people in Alberta don’t know is why a lot of their economic problems exist. They don’t only exist because of equalization payments, they exist because via equalization payments, Conservative Premiers alter their investment patterns.
If let’s say I knew I was going to make a $10 profit, and out of this profit my boss, the federal government would take all of it and give it to his friends, would it be in my best interests as an Alberta Premier to be profitable? The answer would be no, if you know anything about the tax code, a lot of businesses, don’t want to have money left over, because if they do, that money will be taxed, so in many instances big corporations will go on investment spending sprees, to avoid the burden of government taxation, because remember once Ottawa takes your money and let’s say gives it the Canadian mainstream media via a bailout package, that money which could have been used as investments is GONE!
So, if as a Premier or as a manager, you’re confronted with all of this tax revenue, that maybe you’d prefer to save for your Alberta citizens, but you can’t because of equalization payments, you may spend that or investment that money recklessly. I don’t expect the Conservative Government to be perfect with money, but you see how money can get wasted because the Federal government of Canada wants it’s cut of Alberta’s profits. Knowing this, I must say that I’m confused about the position Jason Kenney is taking. Now, if you haven’t yet, consider watching the video speech of Jason Kenney, from my standpoint it’s a real downer
Wexit, Albertan Separatism I’m confused as to the strategy
In my opinion, Jason Kenney is repeating the Stephen Harper strategy, I think it can work, however, Trudeau has divided this country and I’ve also thought the mistake made by the Conservatives was to avoid focusing on the economics. During the speech, Jason Kenney intentionally engages in double speech, tip-toeing around economic issues and trying to appeal Albertans’ compassionate side. Basically, if you listen to the speech, Jason Kenney is trying to keep separatist sentiments under control, so in the event, you listen to the Jason Kenney A fair deal now
speech and find yourself dosing off, I personally believe that was his intention.
Alberta being a landlocked province isn’t the problem, the problem is Albertas’ inability to effectively negotiate with Ottawa. Quebec doesn’t want Pipelines, ok fine, no problem, well Alberta doesn’t want to send Quebec any money. It’s really that simple, however, Kenney doesn’t want to simplify his message because it opens up pandora’s box. We all know Jason Kenneys long term aspirations involve him one day becoming Prime Minister of Canada and in order to do this, Jason Kenney will have to appeal to Eastern Canada in some capacity, If Jason Kenney is ever caught referring to eastern Canada in a manner that makes eastern Canada appear to be the leeches that WE are(I’m an Ontarian). Well, then Jason Kenney’s opponents will have lots of dirt of him.
Look how te media framed Andrew Scheer, who is a good man, imagine what the mainstream media would do to Jason Kenny if he ran from PM. Well, Jason Kenney, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if the biased Leftwing mainstream media can’t find any dirt on you, they’ll make something up. To some this article up, this is why I see Albertans voting Conservative as short-sighted, my focus is on economics, my message is simple, Free-Markets, if the people don’t want free markets let voters pay for socialism with their own tax dollars.
This is not a hard message to comprehend it also solves future problems in the event of a recession or an economic crash. Most Canadians still don’t know the difference between Private and Public sectors which is exactly what the Liberals and the Leftists want, because the fewer people know about how the Public sectors are financed the better. When Trudeau gets on stage and says he’s going to bailout the Mainstream media or give money to African nations with corrupt regimes using Canadians tax dollars, the assumption by most middle-class Canadians is that the money isn’t coming out of their pockets directly, Canadians don’t understand deficit spending, they feel entitled to equalization payments, when Alberta’s economy suffers a downturn most Canadians don’t understand that Albertans would have money to cushion the blow, had they not been forced to send their tax dollars to Ottawa.
You as a politician, can’t make the assumption that people will simply and magically comprehend this stuff overnight. Now, I don’t know if this is intentional on the part of the conservatives, I grew up with the words “Knowledge is Power” plastered on my room’s wall, I’m also a student of economic history and how democracy destroys nations. Idiots are allowed to vote, so in a democracy, especially as a Conservative leader, you want to educate your followers, even if your followers want socialism or some type of economic protectionism, they should also be able to comprehend the Pros and the Cons to their collectivist ideals.
Because, right now in Canada, I doubt Canadians will be able to comprehend why Austerity measures might be necessary. There’s a lot of cheap money floating around, a lot of debt that needs servicing floating around the world and there reaches a point where the minimum payments to service the debt, becomes unbearable to the common person and this, especially under a fiat monetary system leads to an economic chaos that will be extremely hard to explain to people, who don’t understand that the wealth for the protected and Public sectors is actually derived from the Private Sector.
Part of the reason why I think it will take about 2 years before Western Separation gains steam is because I think there’s still a lot of confusion going on within the Conservative Party. Canadians have become accustomed to the government picking economic winners and losers and for many Canadians, their response to the Government picking winners and losers is to make sure they pick the government they think will make them a winner. Individualism revolves around giving power to the individual when there are enough economically wise individualist who can effectively educate the masses of the correct functions of a government in a democracy, it’s at this point where Canada’s economic flexibility can return.
Again, I’m not a fan of Protectionism or Socialism, however, sometimes these regulations are necessary and maybe sometimes we just have to test them and see what the end results are. I don’t know if I would be comfortable with a Private Sector Police force? I also wouldn’t Canada to be a dumping ground for people dumping dangerous chemicals anywhere they want. Government intervention is necessary at times, but as an example using taxpayer dollars to bail out Canada’s mainstream media, while Canadians are going hungry and technology has actually made it cheaper for mainstream media outlets to peddle their messaging? Come on? This nonsense happens because Canadians aren’t being educated on the role of government.
Now, when I listen to Jason Kenney, what I hear is a man who wants to rule over me, because he knows better, Jason Kenney is not a foolish man, however, you can see that he has a vision for himself, he’s not willing to be the sacrificial lamb. No, I’m not sure if this is what Albertans want, but the Left can effectively make things more difficult for Albertans under Jason Kenneys current explanation for what he plans to do with his A fair deal now
speech.
He’s going to kneel at the alter of the Federal Government and basically become an irritant. In Ontario, when Kathleen Wynne knew that Doug Ford was coming for her job, she made Doug Ford’s job was twice as hard, by spending more increasing the minimum wage, and creating more regulations, namely ENERGY regulations for businesses in Ontario. Jason Kenney’s plan leaves the door wide open for his opposition to counter punch. Because Albertans are fiscally reasonable notice that when Jason Kenneys starts to talk about Alberta being more fiscally responsible how hi opposition frames him as the mean person who puts profits ahead of people?
Leftists won’t stop and why should they if you’re going to pander to them. I don’t understand Jason Kenney’s vision and I’ll be watching how Albertan responds to his messaging. Because this is educational for me. I personally don’t like the name “Wexit”, I don’t think Canadians need to take from other countries, our situation is different, we’re not a small island, Canada has a lot of land, which means the profitability of our great nation is very important. People need to be reminded of how Public Services are delivered.
It’s not by magic! Once Canada loses those hard-working men and women, we can’t simply recreate them out of thin air. If you go to a lot of countries which have been destroyed by Socialism, they’ve lost their way, once filled with great teachers these countries only have a handful now and because of this, it’s hard for countries like Greece or even Italy as an example to explain to their citizens that there are limits of what the government can do. If Jason Kenney is what Albertans want, well, it’s a sad reminder to me that Canada may simply have to learn economic hardships the way other formerly great nations have.
Interesting times ahead!
