The current Premier of Saskatchewan did what should be common sense to all provinces, as Quebec has basically been taking this approach to politics and taxes for DECADES now.
When Quebecers don’t like a FEDERAL law, they either ignore it, don’t enforce it, or change the tax code to skirt around the tax. Quebec has its own CIVIL LAW Code, whereas the rest of us abide by common law.
Obviously, the Quebec civil code predates common law, but who cares about precedence or looking to a written law of prior years that can be imagined in the same way and even applied the same in time? What we’re really talking about when you bring up LAWS is ENFORCEMENT.
Enforcement is expensive; that’s why most developed nations have PLEA deals. If I speed while driving and get caught, there’s due process, and to avoid the COSTS associated with due process, the government will offer me a DEAL.
Now, Justin Trudeau, from a financial perspective, is an idiot; however, polling data suggests he’s going to lose the 2025 election, so commonsense would dictate that if ALL premiers tied up Trudeau in the courts regarding the carbon tax, they’d be saving their taxpayers money as well as putting pressure on Trudeau to cancel the carbon tax.
At best, about 30% of Canadians believe that manmade climate change is real, and then you have to factor in the small percentage of those people who are willing to fight for a CARBON TAX😂.
“Hey, Ho, we won’t go until Tru-DOH raises our Taxes✊🏻✊🏼✊🏽✊🏾✊🏿”😂
From my perspective, everything about Trudeau is an embarrassment,
