Mario Toneguzzi of National Post: ‘Everyone’s angry’: Why you’re wrong if you think Wexit is just ‘an Alberta thing’ Reviewed (Tim Moen) – Great Article
I have never been much of a writer, by I love reading articles from people who write very well. I’ve always read the financial post, typically the financial post will tell you what you need to know about what’s going on in finances, the unfortunate truth about the financial post is that a lot of Canadians are financially illiterate so even when as an example the Financial post will write that job growth is being fueled by the Public Sector, the average Canadian has no idea what that means and this, of course, is why in my opinion Wexit is even a thing right now.
Being quite frank the thought of Private police force terrifies me, as much as I’d like to imagine that the private sector should do most things, especially welfare related things, I could be wrong because human behavior is challenging thing, especially when most humans have hard time comprehending things like Individualism, freedom of speech, free markets, and property rights. I mean most Canadians don’t even understand the flipside of the gun control debate? This gun control topic alone could make Western Canada want to separate. The government doesn’t always know best, come on behold our current Prime Minister.
In a democracy the people can vote for idiots, in fact Canada is the epitome of the Socrates debates regarding why he and the great men who drafted the U.S Constitution weren’t fans of Democracy.
In the United States, they have something called the electoral college and why this system is important is because it gives equal representation across all of America, every U.S State has an equal voice. So lets for argument’s sake say that most of the Stupid people in America move to California and economically destroy the richest U.S State. Just because more people live in California doesn’t mean that Californians can determine the U.S Election.
In Canada, once Quebec and Ontario vote, the election is basically over, why? Because in Canada our electoral system revolves around population, the larger your population the more votes you have? At least that’s how I see our electorial system. So basically during the last Federal Election after a person could have literally turned their televisions off after Eastern Canada voted. Western Canada has been putting up with this nonsense for decades and it appears that they’ve reached a boiling point.
Now, if you watch most of the other news outlets, they’re either trying to downplay what’s going on in Western Canada or they’re trying to control the narrative. Being perfectly honest, I’m not sure what to make of this. The smart thing Justin Trudeau has been doing lately is keeping a low profile, the media has assisted Trudeau in keeping his name out of the headlines, I just don’t see how Trudeau recovers with all that he’s done. A lot of Albertans have lost their jobs, not because of a market downturn but because of government edicts.
As I’ve been writing for years, there are more and more clean energies set to come online in the next decade, this is leading the Oil cartels like OPEC and others to want to limit their competition. Its a very dirty process for oil to be boated into America for example. Alberta is right here and so are many parts of Western Canada, who are ready and eager to meet the demands of the market. Now, Trudeau has throttled this intentionally, now I’ve heard many people ay that Trudeau wouldn’t buy the Transmountain pipeline to kill it, I actually disagree with that.
Trudeau’s lavish spending with taxpayer dollars is reminiscent of Former Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne who basically did the same thing with coal-fired generation. I think everything Trudeau has done with the purchasing of Pipelines is calculated, now it’s not to say the Pipeline won’t be built, the question will be how it’s built and how much of a detriment to future investment the Federally Purchased pipeline will be in regards to the price tag attached to it.
I think people need to look over the Canadian Energy Regulator (CER) Act and everything it entails, there’s a lot of subjectivity mixed into the CER Act and this in case you’re wondering is why a lot of companies have left Alberta already. No private company wants Government looking over their books. Imagine being at a job and your boss is hovering over you, breathing down your neck trying to find fault with everything you do. Yes, I get it, some regulations are necessary, but from my point of you, the Liberal playbook is to kill Canada’s energy sector and create a service sector economy.
If this sounds crazy, you clearly haven’t sat down and spoken to a Liberal. Liberals tend to assume the way things are is the way they’ll always be, meaning that the little things we take for granted, like hardworking smart, intelligent Old Stock Canadians are easily replaceable with mass migration because after all the infrastructure is already here all that’s required is a maintenance, right? Oh, and those businesses that left, they’ll easily be replaced with green, renewable energies, right? Oh and all of those silly Old Stock Western Canadian relics, they’re just going to have to learn that there’s a new sheriff in town and his name is Justin Trudeau.
The modern Leftists thinks this way, a lot of Conservatives don’t want to accept it, because it’s hard to imagine that a fellow countryman would openly destroy this country, but that’s looking at this situation all wrong. Liberals tend not to value hard work, it’s why they want to grow the welfare state, Liberals want to grow government dependence because they’ve concluded in their heads that Conservatives are Greedy.
The reason why I write extensively about price and wage controls is that if you’re a Conservative who believes in these silly communist ideas, you are in actuality a part of the fuel that has allowed the Leftists to morph into what they are today. Greedy mostly comes from the Collectist side of the aisle, under the guise of helping the “poor”, however, if you’re on the Political Right side of the argument, you have to take responsibility for your own actions as well.
It’s at this point in which I’m unsure about the Wexit, I’m still not sure what Wexit looks like, because of Western Separation do not define what separation looks and feels like, it will be easy for them to be disbanded. I’m not sure of the amount of Tim Moen type that exists in Alberta, but it’s these types of minds that would know what a Separatist Western Canada looks and feels like. The foundations of any separatist movement have to be sound, it’s at this juncture in which the rest of Canada has to listen.
The great thing about being a Conservative in this era is that your old idea sounds new because many of them haven’t been heard before. Like can you imagine if a politician said I’m going to abolish the minimum wage and used Sweden as their reason for doing so? The Separatist Marxists wouldn’t know how to interpret that, most eastern Canadians who’ve been brainwashed by public schools wouldn’t know what to make of such a statement that sounds audacious and ridiculous on the surface.
Price controls, I’ve often never understood why anyone would want to devalue the Canadian dollar, it’s not until I understood price controls and the disasters supply management have caused to Eastern Canada that I understood why and how Western Canada could really screw over eastern Canada if they separated. The Loonie is a Petro-dollar and as a Separatist nation Western Canada could screw over the loonie in 2 ways, 1 remaining on it, and 2 abandoning it. Economically Western Canadians hold all the cards, if Quebec left Canada as an example, the Loonie might soar which is good for the entirety remaining nation, protectionism would be challenged almost overnight if Quebec left Canada.
Because let’s be frank about this, most of the protectionist laws that exist in Canada were created to make the Quebec separatists happy. The fact that English speaking Canadians have to know French to debate? doesn’t allow us to speak publicly in a manner that the average Canadian understands. It amazed me how taken some of my Liberal family members were by Maxime Bernier, simply because he was French Canadian with a thick French accent. What he said meant nothing, they didn’t know much about him, because in case Western Canadians don’t know, most Ontarians don’t think much about politics, they tend to pick the person who looks the part. Sure there are hardcore Liberal supporters, but make no mistake about it, Ontarians don’t view politics the same was Western Canadians do.
It’s life or death for the West, for us here in the east it’s just business, we think Canada revolves around us and because Wexit is only now a thing, why should we care what happens to you? Obviously I think differently, obviously, the prosperity of this nation means everything to me, but I’d like Western Canada to punch back, please put up a fight, do something. I’d personally advise anyone reading this to speak to Tim Moen, even if you don’t completely agree with him, talk with him, understand how his mind works, if Albertan Sepertism revolves around a Libertarian ideology even if some of you are against the Swiss like way of Governance, you would be wise to understand what a landlocked nation looks like and how it flourishes.
Once Albertan and Western Canadian separatism has a foundation, similar to the tea party in the United States, the government has to listen. Rand Paul catches the ear of Donald Trump because in case you didn’t know, Donald Trump supported the tea party to the point that former President Barack Obama actually released his birth certificate. Trump a then business tycoon doing something like that while being a private citizen took balls, and Trump used this to get himself into the White house.
As an investor, I’m nervous for Canada if the new NAFTA is passed, if USMCA becomes law, Canadian protectionism is going to take a serious hit, because, under the rules of USMCA, the U.S can retaliate if Canada opts to be overly protective of its industries, this can prove to be very destructive to Canadian businesses reliant on the U.S dollar. USMCA levels the playing field since NAFTA Canada hasn’t been playing fair, we have protected industries all over Canada and if the United States is able to retaliate, this becomes a problem for Canada regardless of who the U.S President is. Democrats love axes, the Democrats or I’d say a wise U.S Democrat might side with Agriculture who often refer to Canada as Canuckistan and as president that Democrat President might do a tit-for-tat tariff on Canada.
Unifor President Jerry Dias was an advisor for Justin Trudeau during NAFTA negotiations, a Union boss? GM has gotten smaller and smaller in Ontario under the leadership of Jerry Dias, this was an advisor of Justin Trudeaus during NAFTA renegotiations and if you listen to Jerry, Jerry assumed that the new NAFTA was all about forcing Mexico to pay higher wages, no, NAFTA revolve around getting the best deal for Americans, Trump knows he can’t control what the Mexican or Canadian Central bank does, which is if you listen to Donald Trump a central theme of his is RECIPROCAL TRADE!
I say this to Alberta, I say this to Western Canada because if you let this opportunity pass you by, there’s a very good chance that this entire country will go through a prolonged period of economic hardships, that most economist won’t be able to interpret in a manner Canadians will understand. Once people get angry, they no longer think straight, they only want a faster solution to the problem, once they realize that the structure of the government is the problem, well as you’ll learn from Argentina, that doesn’t necessarily equate to change either. A properly constructed Separatist movement in Alberta will help to reshape this nation and make us Great again. If you read this, I advise you to speak to or listen to Tim Moen, even if you do not agree with everything he says, hear him out! The article below I thought was well written.
