Premium Gas Vs. Regular Gas – The reason why you should always consider buying Premium Gas
To keep this post short, Premium Gas vs. Regular Gas which is better, based on my experience with cars that spans over 3 decades at this point, I only purchase premium gas and I do this regardless of the car I’m driving, why? Car Maintenance costs!
What often goes overlooked with regular or the lower tiered types of gasoline is the sludge and access dirt they leave in all parts of you car, what you’ll notice when you use the cheaper types of gasoline are the accumulations of problems that will occur in your car over time, that I’ve found rarely if ever happen when I use premium gasoline. Don’t get me wrong wear and tear on parts is inevitable, but wear and tear on the electronic components, the wiring, things related to the engine, seem to happen most frequently to people who use the cheaper types of gasoline religiously.
Don’t believe me, try it for yourself. Now, the reality about purchasing the top tier gasoline is that some people will only buy it sometimes if you’re only going to buy the best gasoline sometimes, don’t bother it will be a waste, it has to be something you do all the time. I’ve even seen people with luxury cars cheating and purchasing the lower tiered types of gasoline, maybe to save money or for other reasons, but this is not what I recommend nor hat I do, it’s premium gas all the time no matter the vehicle, the only time I’ll use cheap gas is if it’s a rental car.
Now, obviously this isn’t a message most people want to adhere too, but I have to tell it like it is premium gas has saved me so much money on repair bills, my current car is 2005, we’re now in 2019, I have zero problems with it and my friends refer to me as a speed demon, furthermore my engine runs better, I’ve had zero problems with my engine so far and I’m pushing 200,000 miles and no my car isn’t Japanese it’s an America car. All American cars should be run premium gasoline, you’d see a huge difference if you make the switch and keep to it.
If you’re wondering why most mechanics downplay gasoline, it’s not because they’re necessarily being malicious, it’s because the damages caused by lower tiered gasoline are minimal in their minds, because for a mechanic changing a few corroded wires or doing some flushing isn’t that big a deal, but here’s the thing, most mechanics shops charge $100+ per hour minimum, so even if the job is a cheap fi in their minds, you as the consumer end up paying a lot of money in labor costs.
One other thing I’d say is if you like leasing and financing new cars, then maybe it’s not in your best interests to buy premium gas, I’m the type of person that drives my car into the ground, if I buy a car used I’ll make it brand new before driving it. But if you’re going to drive and keep your car long term consider using premium gas all the time, also consider using the same gas stations companies. If your car requires you use premium gas, don’t be an idiot, use the premium gas, the truth is all cars should be using premium gas, it’s because people are cheap why we even have cheaper quality types of gasoline.
I think people forget that initially it was only supposed to be one type of petroleum, just like if you have an electric car, there’s only one type of electricity, sure there are different voltages, but as many electric car owners figure out, if you don’t use the right voltage, your battery will be destroyed, same goes for gasoline, the cheaper quality gasoline does the job, but it’s not like your car is supposed to run off of it.
