Public Auto Insurance & The Carbon Tax: I Poke Fun at ICBC, but Public Auto Insurance Should Terrify You As Canadians Continue To Vote Left – February 6, 2024
When I think about Public Auto Insurance, I laugh; it sounds comical to me. The argument against PRIVATE auto insurance, in general, revolves around “PROFITS.” Canadians have a “Marxist” culture that many aren’t aware of. I frequently poke fun at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia and often ignore Saskatchewan, Manitoba, and Quebec.
The people of Saskatchewan often vote for Conservatives, and Manitoba is a swing province. Canada NATURALLY is the richest nation on earth, and there is no close second. this wealth, for obvious reasons, attracts parasites who deliver easy answers to voters.
One of the problems with PRIVATE Insurance is government regulations. People tend to forget that insurance revolves around actuaries. Actuarial science as far as economics goes is the TRUTH, but the truth is boring if you’re a politician. In theory, PRIVATE auto insurers should drive down prices, why then do prices rise with private insurance companies in Canada?
Well, you’d have to look at government regulations, you see, public auto insurance, is one of the main culprits as to why public sector OPERATIONAL costs are so expensive in Manitoba, Quebec and B.C.
Define a not-for-profit when you’re paying a government employee’s salary. These public auto insurance companies aren’t working for free. If you’re living in a province that controls your auto insurance, and the federal government is trying to STEER you in the direction of purchasing a particular type of vehicle, aren’t you a LITTLE bit nervous?
In the U.K. the growth of the “Political Climate Change Alarmism” agenda happened under the Conservative government, one of the problems with a monarchy, is the LACK of freedom of speech. The U.K and the Commonwealth in general doesn’t have FREE SPEECH, we have more a “popular speech” law, which lends itself to the more aggressive amongst us pushing to control every aspect of our lives.
The Leftists of this modern era have decided that CENSORSHIP is the ideal goal for them to achieve their agenda. You might notice that I’m the rare Canadian writing about PUBLIC auto insurance in Canada; why is that? It’s because it’s become part of Canadian culture in many respects.
People living in Provinces with public auto insurance will argue for it; they’re used to it; it’s never threatened their way of life before, and Trudeau will be gone in a few years, and a “Conservative” will fix everything, right?
Now, I can hear some of you thinking, well, can’t the government just regulate auto insurance out of existence when they want to? Yes, and No, Yes, if you’re ignorant, weak and allow them too, no, if you recognize the threat future Justin Trudeau’s pose to this country.
When it comes to ANY insurance, typically, government regulations force premiums upward. PRIVATE Insurance companies pay A LOT of taxes while they simultaneously become the backbone of a nation.
Public Insurance companies could be considered the ROOT cause of consumer price inflation, when most Canadians think CMHC, they don’t think of CMHC as the problem.
Often CMHC presents itself as the solution, but you’d be wise to look up rent and housing prices PRIOR to Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation(CMHC) getting involved with Mortgage backed securities and protecting creditors from DEFAULT.
When insurance companies become state-owned, they create PRICE CONTROLS, and price controls, if you’re not aware, create SHORTAGES of things, and force prices upward. CMHC’s mortgage insurance, prevents mortgage prices from CRASHING, they also help Canadians to become homeowners.
If you’re unaware, one of the reasons why Karl Marx and Socialists, in general, hated Capitalism is because of PRICE FLUCTUATIONS, namely price crashes/price deflation. Capitalism revolves around driving costs for consumers DOWN and driving value UPWARD. Get more value for less money.
If you know anything about the Government taking over anything, they do things in reverse: higher prices for worse value; the government will drive costs for consumers UPWARD and drive DOWN the value of things. Have you not noticed the decline in public health care, if you’ve purchased a home, the prices are more expensive, but the materials are cheaper.
Most expensive provinces in Canada, 2023
- British Columbia
- Ontario
- Alberta
- Manitoba
- Saskatchewan
- Nova Scotia
- New Brunswick
- Quebec
- Prince Edward Island
- Newfoundland and Labrador
The top 5 most expensive provinces in Canada in 2023, 4 of the 5 have Public Auto Insurance entities (British Columbia, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba). If we’re going to be fair, Quebec doesn’t make the list because Quebec, is a “Have Not” Province.
If we’re doing honest accounting, Quebec VOTERS made their government so large that it sends the bill to Ottawa. Then Ottawa not only takes money from B.C, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, it also BORROWS money, mostly from the Bank of Canada, to then send to Quebec and Atlantic Provinces.
Canadian Equalization Payment Numbers in 2023
- Quebec: $14 billion
- Manitoba: $3.5 billion
- Nova Scotia: $2.8 billion
- New Brunswick: $2.6 billion
- Prince Edward Island: $561 million
- Ontario: $421 million
So then you’d argue, why don’t the rest of the provinces embrace a Public Auto Insurance system? Well, in case you’re not paying attention, IT’S VERY EXPENSIVE.
You have to remember what NON-PROFIT means when it’s owned by the public sector, it means all the moneys it receives will be CONSUMED by the provincial government.
So that’s a nonexistent tax revenue, a nonexistent vibrant industry, nonexistent jobs, nonexistent competition, nonexistent learning, and nonexistent attraction of capital.
During the Covid-19 outbreak, Canada’s universal healthcare system gave the Federal government a lot of control over people’s lives. That’s the problem with PUBLIC sectors: doing things they weren’t designed to do.
From my point of view, Public Health care sounds RIDICULOUS. Do we need public oversight? Absolutely, but do I really need a GOVERNMENT doctor to give me a check-up? Are you imagining that when something goes wrong with Canada’s public health care the government is going to have your back? Did you learn nothing from Covid-19?
Justin Trudeau bragged about preventing people from getting on a plane if they didn’t do what he said. Now, if Covid-19 were Ebola, do you really think you’d have to convince anyone to get the vaccine? What I’m getting at is government “security” is all in your head.
Choices, Liberty, Freedom, the pursuit of private property, which makes most people HAPPY, is what we should all be striving for. Reconsider Big Government, currently the government is trying to force people to try these EVs and if your provincial government controls your auto insurance, it’s a sign of vulnerability. The Carbon Tax is just the start, do not imagine that these control freaks in government will stop at the Carbon tax.
Interesting times ahead
