Quebec Supply Management: Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec sue Greek Orthodox nuns for selling milk products without a permit! – November 1, 2019,
Being that Justin Trudeau won the election and The Bloc Quebecois is now a force to be reckoned with in Quebec, the Fédération des producteurs de lait du Québec (PLQ) said what the hell, let’s flex our supply management muscles. After all even Maxime Bernier in his home region of Beauce, Quebec got his ass whooped by a Conservative Party representative who was openly pro supply management.
Anyway, I don’t really care to get into the details, because the Canadian people voted for this nonsense, I’ll allow the CBC to frame this story in whatever way they can, because quite frankly after the 2019 election, it’s become clear to me that Canadians are simply going to have to learn things the hard way. I did what I could, wrote what I could but apparently this country has gotten used to protectionism and is unwilling to change.
I don’t know how you frame the story in a manner that makes the demands of the PLQ sound respectable. What I will say is that this also occurs in other countries in a variety of formats, but based on what I read the PLQ lawsuit isn’t based on the Nuns making dangerous milk, the lawsuit is based on the amount of Milk the Nuns are making (supply management) it’s absolutely disgusting if you ask me, but let the truth be told, the people of Quebec had the opportunity to vote for Maxime Bernier and the People’s Party of Canada, but they made the decision not too.
I’m pretty sure this story will disappear in a few days or a week or something so, Quebec made its bed, wallow in it!
