Quebec’s Bill 21 and Austrian Economics, why it’s in Quebec’s right to protect their sovereignty – September 17, 2019,
I’d be lying if I personally thought race or racism was a huge problem in Canada. Where racism becomes problematic is when society has a socialist atmosphere. Socialism revolves around social justice economic equality, where race comes into this equation is if one group is doing al the heavy lifting while the other group is simply consuming. In Quebec, the unfortunate reality is their socialist policies have put a serious strain on the Canadian economy. Quebec is the poster child for why many people in the establishment media question if deficits even matter.
Rosemary Barton: “Do deficits even matter anymore? Don’t think so”
I’d say I’m shocked, but I’ve been following the CBC’s bias for a while now. pic.twitter.com/8dAERDQrSU

Now, to be fair in response here’s what Rosemary Barton replied
It’s pretty clear I meant do they matter to the govt…

But, the mere fact that a State-owned broadcaster, labeled in Canada as a Crown Corporation would have one of their journalist talking like this on-air, on such a sensitive topic, knowing that Canadians can’t read minds, gives you a glimpse into the entitlement mentalities of many of Canada’s government establishments. Why is it that whenever a politician says something that the politician claims was taken out of context, the media is all over them, but when a Journalist does the same, oh it’s no big deal Rosemary Barton“It’s pretty clear I meant do they matter to the govt…” that’s how the entitled mind operates and this leads into my personal views regarding Quebec’s Bill 21.
Quebec accounts for 24% of Canada’s total population, Population growth in Quebec has been stagnant
Although there’s a segment of the Canadian population who take the Faith Goldy approach to immigration, I view things more in line with the Libertarians. Welfare is the problem, Africa is the perfect example of what happens when big government leads society. I always hear these assumptions that Africa is poor because of colonialism, no Africa is poor because of BIG GOVERNMENT, Africans never got the memo about Free markets. Even Communist China and Communist Vietnam have free-market zones. Capitalists build and MAINTAIN infustructure, socialists consume with impunity.
It’s very important to remember that Quebec is a perpetual have-not province heavily reliant on equalization payments from Western Canada. Equalization Payments just so I’m clear, go towards paying for Public Services. What’s unfair about Equalization payments is that if Alberta goes through financial hardships at the hands of a Liberal government that was brought into power via the have-not provinces in Eastern Canada, Alberta’s public sector can not go to the Government and ask the have-not provinces of eastern Canada to pay back the money that was taken from the once prosperous Albertan economy.
Even worse Albertans have to wait on politicians to decide if Alberta can sell their product to the open market, again no compensation for the delay or the costs involved in Alberta trying to build and maintain their economy. Now, interestingly enough Quebec’s Bill 21 is… A ban on religious symbolism in the public sector . So, from my standpoint, this is a problem that’s going to fix itself.
Austrian Economics basically dictates that money will flee where it’s not wanted, now I can say for sure what will happen to Quebec with Bill 21, but this again is why Freedom comes with a price. I read somewhere that Quebecers were hoping to attract European immigrants, a nice thought, but what’s in it for the European immigrants? Quebec isn’t friendly to business, the cost of living is high, the Canadian dollar in comparison to the Euro isn’t impressive and Quebec isn’t exactly in the same economic position it once was in. Again it’s a have-not province and it’s a have-not province because of policies.
The real problem with socialism is the damage it does to the human mind, in Africa as an example, a lot of people have become dependent on donations, can these Africans work for a living? Of course they can, however Africa governments don’t want their people working for former colonizers, furthermore, Africa leaders don’t want what they consider to be colonizers buying up land in Africa. Private property rights are in limbo in Africa and therefore, free markets can’t help the people. Investors are dying to get into Africa, the same way investors are dying to get into Quebec, however, the protectionism, socialism dictates that the Governments pockets must be full prior to any thought of free-market existing to bring to prices and raise the quality of life.
So, from my standpoint, it’s obvious to me why the Anglo-Saxons in Canada are staying far away from Bill 21, look at the numbers. Here’s my solution, end the welfare state, at the very least let’s start with some austerity measures if Quebec wants socialism let them have it, let’s end or change Equalization payments. I live in Ontario, the so-called economic migrants are not staying in Quebec, they’re moving here, they’re coming to Ontario because of the free crap we give away. The free government crap that’s given away, exists primarily because a large segment of the Canadian population believes in economic protectionism and a Welfare State.
We tariff the hell out of Americans who’d like to make our dollar stronger and our lives easier, we punish small businesses with threats that if they grow the government will not only over-regulate them but raise taxes on them, we punish renters by incentivizing home-ownership and using Crown Corporations like the CMHC and the BoC to disincentivize savings and encourage borrowing. The CMHC is now involved in a down-payment mortgage loan scheme, which will only benefit current homeowners and potential homeowners, the government is picking economic winner and losers and Canadians don’t seem to care.
Quebec’s public sector is broke and they want to raise the barrier to entry some more, I say let them, but lets at the very least take a look at equalization payments.
Interesting times ahead
