Quibids Review Is It a Scam
Penny Auctions my personal opinion is don’t get involved with them unless you have at least 75% of the retail price of the product you are seeking to purchase. Another thing is before you get into a website like Quibids.com make sure you READ the terms and conditions and also understand what you are getting yourself into.
Penny Auctions work off ignorance (in my opinion) and they’re time consuming. The reason why I say you should have at least 75% of the money of the retail value of the item you wish to purchase is because the penny auctions in many ways are all about backing up your bid with your commitment. You lose in Penny Auctions when you are not willing to commit to a particular item.
Do you follow me here? Because if you don’t you will lose all of your money in a penny auction very quickly. When getting into this type of endeavor you’ve got to have some heart and also have some money, again I recommend 75% of the value of the item you seek. Another thing to keep note of is that with Penny Auction sites the house always wins.
Example: Three guys fighting for a PS3 console these three men are all serious and only one person can win. Each of these three men are willing to pay over $100 for this PS3 and they do, they each use up $120 in credits to try and win this PS3 console but only one person wins. This is how the penny auction website wins all of their money. This is also the reason why most people never win ANYTHING in Penny Auction Sites. Again the house has to make their profit when getting involved in these penny auctions never forgets that.
Online Penny Auction Scams
Now when you are dealing with penny auction sites ONLINE!!! There’s the fear actually it’s my fear that the game is RIGGED. This is my reason for not getting involved in this type of auction. The reason why eBay has become so successful is because only the winning bidder has to pay. Because penny auctions use NON REFUNDABLE credits the instant you sign up with them is the instant you’ve basically lost your money.
So if you the money you’ve invested is not at least 75% of the retail value of the product you want and if you are not prepared to go all the way with your bids then forget about it. When you look at Penny Auctions from the proper perspective it’s plain to see why people scream scam all the time. Now personally I don’t think Quibids.com is a scam but at the same time I don’t recommend you join them.
Wait a minute – How did $.60 per bid become 1 Cent per bid?
Nothing on Quibids is being sold for 1 cent the fact of the matter is that each bid costs each user 60 cents per placed bid. The real allure of Penny Auctions is the name and online it’s also the visual presentation meaning once you see your desired item on auction for a few cents or dollars, most people are going to think to themselves hey this looks simple and cheap let me try that. Like I said above when getting involved with online penny auctions you have to purchase credits meaning the house has already won. And like with any other auction site there can only be ONE winner, but unlike traditional auction sites where only the winner has to pay for the price of item, a penny auction website means once you vote you’ve paid for the price of the item. So each time you vote you lose credits.
Penny Auctioning is border line gambling in my opinion. Also penny auction sites work in reverse. The larger the penny auction site gets the harder it gets for members and the better it gets for the house (in this case Quibids.com). If you want to sign up for Quibids.com don’t let me stop you just don’t say I didn’t warn you. Please leave your comments or your experience with Quibids below it helps others.

I’ve been watching for the last 20 mins the user by the name of MEATMONSTER make simultaneous bid-o-matic bids on a 55″ led tv, a 250 bid pack, and now a 16gb ipad. Has anyone ever noticed this before? Is it a bot? Just want to make everyone aware of the user, MEATMONSTER. Either a bot or a real user with infinity bids?????
People this is rigged and it scams people 24/7. it is made for you to win something (25 bid points! haha) in return to give you more hopes in investing shit loads for the pimp daddy, i feel bad for all the people who watched NBC took their cc’s out running to bid! haha crack heads for sure if u signed up. You will not win them and cant sue them, they can pay off any claim to any judge with a good layer off of that money you gave em, you are the one who is a loss. 1,500 computers gives nerd company 18,000. Obama was right, change has happened, if you do more research on this company you will understand, this cult never refunds for their fucked up over loaded sites when they freeze up or bid goes from 10 seconds to 0, with your jaw opened. Don’t waste your time, it was made for losers. Oh what i am say, just go sign up and learn from your own mistakes! Fuu**** …. Change has come, empty your wallets. 😛
I recently tried out quibids. and though as interesting i spent my $60 to start and i won a small item that many probably don’t care about. didnt really save much because shipping was about $8 and the original item only about $20 though out $60 i wont be using it again i can see how people will end up losing more money in the long run before actually winning a big item. i calculated my chance of actually winning a popular item and it comes out cheaper that i just buy it at a retail or online store when the item goes on sale. i wasted alot of time doing so and i would rather go to a casino and gamble the money. i have better odds of winning because i am sure there are robot bids that keep people from winning with less bids. also the advertise on the items that show recently sold for example $1.59 on a $1800 item. but when watching the actuall recent item (same thing) went for $148.34 but it wont show that. that calculates to $8900.40 for the item given that there is no fake or automated bids to make the price higher. definitely a scam. they would lose alot of money in the beginning when starting out so they definitely have robot bids to make the real bidders pay alot. taking advantage of people who have the addiction of gambling but alot less regulation so alot more scams.
COMPLETE SCAM!!!!!!!! DO NOT SIGN UP YOU WILL!!! LOSE!
warning, they start making other sites with a same scam, one of them found arrowoutlet.com , which is a banner near you all over internet.. all that money they made off of poor people are now parts going into banners. Rich bastards. no mercy if i see or find out who worked for them, chew them up on the spot. !!! Really mad for a sign up.. Hope they all go to hell for lieing to people… Gamble 100% no bargain, you will end up paying more sometimes for items u never wanted, and wasting so much time on it you will feel bad as hell. Buy retail at stores if you dont want to end up epending more. All the fancy pictures advertising how you save 95% is for your dumb image to lure you in. Don’t fall for it. You have been warned!
What’s interesting is how much money they make off of users in addition to the bidders. They make $60 a person multiply that times 30 people and they made $1800 just off of people signing up. So, those 55 inch tv’s are paid for already.
Another point is a auction can be going on all day and a new bidder can join the bidding. So, in essence you’re bidding against the entire site and not just a small group of people. It is 100% gambling at best but, as the bidders on the item grows the more the house wins.
This Qui Bids is a scam with a robot smart agent – Send me your money Ill at least make you laugh

In my personal opinion these kind of websites are not really a scam, you just have to be care full, and also be willing to pay. Be careful because yes, the auction might go all the way up to the retail price, but do the math, if you win the bidding at retail price, your going to pay what that particular item costs in full original retail price, and also 60c per bid you place. Im no expert, but i think that if you just dont go crazy on it, and just make a few bids, youll come out winner. For example, now the item costs 2.43, now you bid a cent, wait till time almost runs out and bid again ( im assuming it works that way), and you might hit a good deal….But anyways, quibids.com is making a crap load of profit every second..
Thank God I don’t have a credit card or I would have been out of 60 bucks.. I was told this was a scam, but I just wanted to check it out. Good thing I didn’t, and thanks for the heads up guys!
Yes, the site makes tons of money. So? Doesn’t every business hope for that? Of course they do, that’s why they are in business.
IMHO Quibids is a cash cow for the owners but it is (or can be)a very cost saving and intelligent way to shop for items (food, for example) you already purchase on a regular basis. I recently spent %7.80 total for $40 in gift cards which I used at my grocery store. I do not fee like I got scammed. I paid &7.80 for $40 worth of groceries.
Like any new game you try to play, one must first read the rules. Quibid offers sound advice for beginners. The vast majority of new bidders NEVER read the Quibids 101 page and consequently lose a lot of there money. I mean, who would ever enter a poker game without knowing the game? Nobody!
So, may I suggest that you use your brain analitically rather than emotionally. Select ONE item of interest. Watch (study) auctions of that item only for a few hours a day for a week or two. I did. I win more often than I lose. Do your due diligence and quit crying, “Scam!”
I would not do business with them if for no other reason than this…

You cannot chose how much to bid, bids start at 0.01 and all you can bid is 0.01
My review of quibids. I spent 60 dollars one several auctions. Gift cards etc…. Is it a scam. To a degree! All penny auction sites have autobidders. These are bidders created by the site to keep the auction moving along in case a human doesnt wish to bid at that moment. Other problem with these sites. They have the ability to end any auction at anytime and even make sure the winner is a computer generated autobidder so that they dont have to pay anyone or send a product out! The only way to actually know for sure if someone is a true bidder would be to install a database so that users can contact competing bidders to verify if they are real or not. But this will never happen……. Quibids may be on the up and up but I can promise you now that they are advertising nationally they are being watched by the FCC and FBI.. In my opinion quibids is probably legit NOW!! But i guarantee that they cheated alot of people to get to where there at now!! How do I know. I have written several programs for penny auction sites. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE!! You can win on these sites I just feel that there too time consuming and too many variables!! There more for entertainment than anything else!!
I won a few things off Quibids…wasn’t too upset. But, back in Jan. I won my last item….have been notified that I won…have ben notified that they’ve been paid…have been notified that it has been processed….HAVE NOT RECIEVED MY PURCHASE!!! I have sent over 4 or 5
E-m ail to C.S., asking for help resolving this issue, and tracking where it is. I can’t get anyone to reply back!!! Does anyone have a phone # that I can use to try to talk to someone a Quibids, directly???
Thank you!!
What a scam, 1200 for an Ipod Nano. I tried it out and when I ran out of bids the other guys bidding seemed to stop. Complete Scam.
Why is it so hard to understand that this is a gambling site ? This is not a scam, it is called gambling, hello ? Why would you give money to “expect ” to win something sooper cheap when possibly 10,000 others are trying to get the same item cheap ? Hello ?
No scam at quibids, simple genius of math / software combination, they give addictive natured people some where to get that feel good rush. I applaud them for there ingenuity.
You may want to actually read the terms and conditions, I know your not used to it , but this is and always has been very important part of signing up for anything.
Sadly I found this site a week and 60.00 too late.
I dont understand you people. Instead of just wanting to jump right in and blindly bid on items, take some time and watch how the auctions run. You guys are throwing out comments without having all the facts.
A. If you purchase the bids than each one is worth $.60. They have a feature where if you lose an auction they will deduct the value of the bids and allow you to purchase the item at a discount. An example would be bidding on a $100 Walmart gift card. You spent 20 bids and did not win. So you have 2 hours to decide to purchase the $100 giftcard for $88+shipping. 20bids x $.60= $12.
B. most of the people bidding bid with free bids won through other auctions at a cheaper price.
C. I purchased a $48 pack when it first came out and received 80 bids. I won a couple of bid auctions and ended up with 202 bids for $59.07. I wasn’t winning on anything and decided to quit thinking it as a scam as well. Well I got back on a week ago and have spent $14.22 on 5 gift cards. I won a $25 overstock.com gc, another $25 overstock gc with 20 bids, 2 $10 home depot with 10 bids on each and a $15 lowes with 20 bids. That’s $85 in gift cards plus $30 in bids.
to anyone who is questioning whether or not quibids is a scam, or is sure of him/herself that it is not: go to quibids.com while not logged in and look at the items, then log in and look again. DIFFERANT ITEMS and heres the kicker, the items you see at first when you are unable to bid are going for one-five cents or without a bid at all! they make you believe it is easy and cheap to win somthing, and by human nature you are forced to at least try it. if that isnt a scam, what is?
Love this site. Wish I would have thought of it.
My first Item HDMI cable $0.01 about $5.00 with shipping, quality product was delivered
Next visit to the site Okley Sunglasses $0.19 $10.00 with shipping then Samgung Blueray player $0.14 $15.00 with shipping and $1.41 for a $100.00 Target gift card. OK did I do good yes I did pay $60.00 for a 100 bids but come on this is great.
I mean this is the biggest scam ever you all need to stick with Ebay
Honestly, the only person who makes money is the website.
thing about somthing that costs 4000 lets say some big tv, the bidding is at 400bucks 1 dollar on the bidding is 60 real dollars
400 times 60 is 24000 dollars. for 4000 tv aint that a bitch.
I saw an ad for a PF Changs gift card, and almost signed up out of curiosity. After finding this page I definitely will not be, thank you for the reviews!
It’s not a scam. You just didn’t read.
The section where you enter your address and credit card information is in a purple-colored box. On that same box, right above where you enter your name, it tells you you will be paying for 60 bucks for those credits.
AND also, once you join you’re directed to that page but you don’t have to buy the credits. You can do what I did when i first joined, I browsed around all the products they offer, read all of their rules, and ‘calculated’ if there was any way for me to recover the initial 60 bucks I would have to spend to start bidding.
In my opinion this site is not for everyone and you should do something similar to what I did to see if it’s a good idea for them to join the game. In my case it’s working out good. I joined a few days ago and I’m already only 18 dollars away from starting to make a profit.
I guess what I’m trying to tell you guys is this, if you are thinking of joining you better join with a good strategy already in mind. Good luck.
This is a reply to this comment: “I went to the website just to check it out. I put my credit card number in, thinking that it was just in case I chose to purchase a package. After I completed making my account it came to a page saying that I had bought a 60 dollar package! This is a trick, and should be avoided! I’m really hoping that I will be able to get my money back! they’re phone service is only monday through thursday, so I was unable to call and ask for my money back. What a joke! I would not recommend these sites to anyone!
“
Legalized theft. Buried in their rules it says that 6 month after you purchase bids they expire. The lifetime of vouchers is even shorter.
First of all anyone who says they won a laundry list of items on this or other penny auction sites must work for these websites because there’s just no way. All they are doing is going to Target, posting the product, letting people sit there putting their money on it like a slot machine for three hours, and making upwards of ten times the cost of that item. Sure, there are a few people who get something at a low price but very few. and winning is limited. The house never loses…I am sticking with traditional auction sites…any site that makes you pay for bids before you start bidding is like QuiBids…don’t waste your money or time.
I believe Quibids is a scam. Simply put… the odds are stacked against certain people and not against others. Here is why I say that… I joined Quibids because my friend invited me. He was winning quite often. He would always bid on gift cards and normally won them for less than what their value was. So if you think about it, he was actually generating a profit (Though not much really… especially when compared to time spent). This peaked my curiosity. So I got on there and spent my original $60 and walked away fairly frustrated having won an auction for an Xbox 360 remote and lost on a $100 gift card. I ended up buying the gift card so I didn’t lose that much on it. I then bought more bids for $27. I won NOTHING. I just couldn’t understand it. My friend had great strategy for winning and when I tried, I couldn’t reproduce his results. Then one day I was on the phone with him and he was helping me out showing me which ones he would bid on. That’s when I discovered the true problem. He was telling me about all these bids at the bottom of the page that no one was bidding on and he would bid and win. When I tried to find them, I couldn’t. So we compared the number of auctions per item type and each time he had about twice as many as I did. So he was seeing auctions that I could not. So just to make sure it wasn’t an error on my computer’s part, he signed onto his account on my computer and I signed on IMMEDIATELY after he logged off and there were still about twice as many on his account as on mine. I contacted Quibids thinking this was some sort of technical issue and they gave me some generic “shrug me off” answer. When they responded back they said.. (this is a copy/paste straight from my email)… “QuiBids has so many auctions ending at the same time that we can’t simply show each customer all auctions. This means that, although you may not see every auction, others may not see your auctions either, giving you the best possible chance of winning a great deal.” hmmm…. that’s interesting… they admit that everyone can’t see the same auctions as everyone else… sounds like an uneven playing field… or scam!! Think about odds… If 1000 people are bidding on 10 auctions that would be much more difficult to win than 10 people bidding on 1000 auctions… right? Simple concept. So apply that to my situation. My friend has approx. 500-800 more auctions available to him for the different auction types. I don’t know why this is, but I suspect I’m not the ONLY one this is happening to. I would suspect scam! Especially since they will not give me a straight answer or even attempt to look into the problem. That seems to mean that they know it is going on. I hope this helps someone. God Bless!
Quibids is not a scam, you just have to read. Scams don’t limit the amount of money they can take from you in a day (only 3 wins in 24 hours; and I was trying to bid on more stuff- driving up the price for others- but they wouldn’t let me). Yes, they make their money because a lot of people keep bidding on the same thing and only one person can win. Yes, a $2,500 can cost you $250.00 and still make them $7,500 (because all the losing bidders chipped in a few dollars each). The key to understanding what you are doing is reading the directions.
Was I pleased when I spent approx. $60.00 on BidCactus only to be shut out of every auction- even on the crappy stuff designed specifically for beginners- hell yes. The problem was I thought that if I bid with one second left, I’d win- I didn’t know the timer would reset-BECAUSE I DIDN’T READ OR WATCH ANY AUCTIONS FIRST! Did I pay attention to how things worked, READ the instructions, WATCHED a few auctions, and created a strategy before I started on Quibids- yes.
I have won a Lego alarm clock (I think it’s worthless but my daughter will love it) for $8.60 (.60 for the bid, .01 penny auction, 7.99 for the shipping). This item would easily have cost $10 in a store. I’ve also won two gift cards to $15.00 Walmart(.01 and .05, 1.99 s&h on each, plus 1.20 for only two bids- I did NOT bid 5 times on the second card). My total cost here was $5.24 but I am getting $30.00 so I net $24.76! Plus I am got bids with these items which I am saving towards my run for a big item. Might I end up losing money-yes, but that’s waht happens when you take a risk on trying ot get something for nothing!
Also, don’t forget that companies like this make deals with the companies they are getting products from. They might get a $15 Walmart card for $5.00 because once someone buys it, they have to go to Walmart. Once in Walmart, they are going to spend more than $15.00. Boom, Walmart makes its money back, the site makes a profit and you got a deal. Also, some of the high end items (like plasmas) are new and brand name but not the latest model the company has to offer. The Sony unloads quality but soon to be discontinued (or poorly selling) stock, the site makes money, and a savvy bidder gets deal!
quityerbitch’ and read, think, THEN decide.
WOW! If this is truly the response from Quibids, “QuiBids has so many auctions ending at the same time that we can’t simply show each customer all auctions. This means that, although you may not see every auction, others may not see your auctions either, giving you the best possible chance of winning a great deal.”, they’re a scam. Every user on the site should have access to every auction. That being said, Quibids could set a limit on the number of users that can participate in an auction. So, when the auction is full, it’s locked, however, users would still able to view it. With the current setup, Quibids can steer users to the auctions that they want users to take part in. Not good, it’s called steering and it’s probably illegal. Steering refers to, in this case, the practice in which Quibids guides prospective users towards or away from certain auctions.
Did anyone get their $60 back for unintentionally purchasing the $60 starter bid pack??
I unintentionally purchased the starter bid pack but it doesnt say i have bids.. i called their company and told me that the transaction got declined.. so i was wondering if anyone has got their money back for unintentionally purchasing the starter bid pack??
One look at Quibids and I knew it was a scam of some sort! It is a ponzi scheme. They start you out and you win a little item, so now you think you can go win a 32 GB Ipad for for like twenty bucks. Only Steve Jobs gets an Ipad for twenty bucks. This is all about greed. The greed of the consumer thinking s/he can get something for nothing. Well I hope you don’t use this site, and if you are dumb enough to.. I hope you learn your lesson quickly or you will be the one with the pennies, not Quibids. Like I said, one look is all it took for me. Never joined the site, never will. Telling my less computer/internet savvy family members to avoid this site at all costs. There is no internal checks and balances. At least at a casino the state (or federal for Indian casinos) regulate what kind of games they can run and the software has to be approved. Like box tops. Got to have 50 box tops to get a free decoder ring, but the box of cereal is 4.99… So it is no so free now is it? And you get to play shipping and handling. The handling is them going down tho their local wal-mart or Bestbuy or getting on to Ebay and buying that same item then repacking it to send to you… I only wish I thought of it I would be so Fing rich from all the dumb people out there…
quibids is a company that is dishonest.
Do not trust them and do not join the site.
The method of business is based on fraud and is akin to criminal action.
I hope someone gives them a kick up the arse……lol
Reality: After readIng many comments and post I believe that quibids.com, beezids.com, bidtwister.com
all have some things in common. They are in business to make money and they have very creative
marketing techniques to do it!
I believe that none of thaws sights could have tv ads without being legitimate auction sights without getting
shut down by multiple federal and state authorities getting involved legally to provide consumer protection.
Instead as some folks have mentioned I believe reading ad understanding the user agreements available
before you sign up that you also must agree to beforehand is all important.
Next I would say these sights operate with a similar premise as companies like rent-way, rent-a-center,
and Aaron’s to name a few. Some people have done the math and those folks have nailed it. The site
easily makes 3,4,5 times the retail value of each item because every bidder pays for every bid they make.
This is a great way for them to never lose so the sites in my opinion truly are not a scam in reality. I would
Say if you combine bot bidders to move the auction along as well paying bidders, remember it only takes
two people wanting the same item badly to have an auction bidding war, and you combine this with some
strategic software and an iron clad end user agreement the owners of these sites are brilliant people. As for
those wanting a real deal on something like someone else mentioned before if you are willing to pay retail for
an item then any item you win for less would be ideal. I do agree with some others that companies who say
they offer live help but instead use a computer bot to help people and offer no phone number do indeed
leave me very weary of them. None the less I also feel that if you take some time to steady the bidding
process and follow some auctions as well as reading and understanding the user agreement then you may
come out on top either by winning lots of items for less, or saving the cost of signing up in the first place.
Either way it sounds like unless you have lots of time, extra money, and a clear understanding it may not
be what you are looking for in an auction site. Me personally I chose to not sign up for it an will continue to
use Amazon, and Craigslist for all my purchase needs. Hope this helps!
It seems fishy to me. Just saw a commercial today and said to enter the code Wintoday and get 10 free bids. When entered it said that that was not a coupon code. They make you buy 100 bids to start!
Hey Kevin, have you ever heard of Enron or Bernie Madoff?
Enron employed approximately 22,000 staff and was one of the world’s leading electricity, natural gas, communications, and pulp and paper companies, with claimed revenues of nearly $101 billion in 2000. Fortune named Enron “America’s Most Innovative Company” for six consecutive years. At the end of 2001, it was revealed that its reported financial condition was sustained substantially by institutionalized, systematic, and creatively planned accounting fraud, known as the “Enron scandal”.
Bernie Madoff- In March 2009, Madoff pleaded guilty to 11 federal felonies and admitted to turning his wealth management business into a massive Ponzi scheme that defrauded thousands of investors of billions of dollars.
You said ” They are in business to make money and they have very creative
marketing techniques to do it!”
Yeah, I guess Enron and Bernie Madoff had very creative marketing techniques as well and I’m sure all of the people they defrauded would agree with your conclusion.
This is a scam. YOu have to buy bids which you go through quickly. The auctions are rigged: they time out way in advance of advertised time. They say buy something cheaper which you don’t need. Anyone pushing the Quibids is either employed by Quibids or is paid to give a good review. Don’t waste your money making these people rich, allowing them to false advertise and draw in other suckers.
You need to check the better business bureau stats on these guys. They opened in 9/22/2010 and have over 200 complaints.
BUYER DEFINITELY BEWARE!!! DON’T RISK YOUR MONEY.
I just read their “terms” and was checking them out.
WHAT A SCAM this website is!
Here a thought
Google their website, click on the “sponsored ad”. By doing this, they have to pay google for that click, it will cost this site anywhere from .01 to 1.00. if 10 million people do this everday…. well, you do the math…put this website out of BUZ!
Guys Simple math. Penny Auction – 1penny = 60 cents.
For example: $100 Gift Card – Auction Started. People really ona get it and they start bidding. In 30 min auction ended and some one won this gift card for $10 (i know for sure this people spend minimum 25 bids). Now lets count, simple math.
$10 = 1000 bids * 0.6c (because 1 bid cost 60 cents) = $600 profit to the website + $10 u have to pay to get it and shipping. Of course for you its lottery, luck and big gain because u got this gift card just for $10 + your bids + shipping = aprox $25 you saved 75%. But for the website – $600. And rest of the bidders – thanx for the game YOU LOSE SIR.
And yes. I belive they have a bidding BOT. Rules says “If you won and item with retail price over $999, u can not bid for a the rest of the month, to give a chance to other players”. Here is the deal, just yesterday witnessed and took a screenshot of the guy who won LED 3D TV with a value of 2,5k and half an hour later Cannon DSLR Camera value of $750.
also, they add about 5 seconds to the clock everytime someone bids. thats really sneaky and dangerous!
Yes it is a scam, they have there own groups they will not let you win any things more then 50 $ an you will pay more then this before winning you will not have any chance
QUIBIDS is a scam. To win somethings you will pay more then its price by the other auctions. Second you will never win over 50$ because they have own groups who will not let you win any auction and they use different names in the same big auction to let you think that somebody comes and wins. You will not have any chance to win, if you do not believe that you will lose your money, their policy is to suck all the money from all the participating members.
I first started out bidding and winning on a few small items..I won 3 auctions for a dozen golf balls each..cost anywhere from 2 cents 2 12 cents for each dozen. Now they end of charging $8 to ship each dozen so paying 10 to 11 bucks a dozen is not bad. ALos won two hdmi cables for about 10 cents and those wee $5 to ship.
I really did not delve deep into the big prizes until I researched and understood exactly how to win the bigger prizes..after failing in a few of them i turned my whole focus to just monitoring and not playing..I would open several windows at a time and monitor auctions for big prizes..every auction ends up the same..there are bid inflators out there, they may be robots or they may be actual people (i leant to robots) that will inflat and inflate bids. They stay for an hour with bid-o-matic and they go away….then they come again…then they go away…then they come back and they actually win….
If the company could prove every winner is real person, make their inventory purchasing public, or just associate every account with a valid email then just maybe they could be called legit but I am convinced they are not.
A third party needs to vaildate this…I really beleive this is illegal and boarderline fraud…and that comes from someone who actually has won.
Yeah they can afford to give away gift cards, vouvhers, golf balls, cables etc but when it gets down to the big items I am positive they do not give one away for every auction.
They will be exposed soon.
I bid and was charged sixty five dollars for nothing. When I was asked for my credit card number I was under the understanding my account would be charged if I won something. I got nothing and was charged just to bid. WARNING Quibids is a rip off don’t get scammed as I did. I called them and they refused to credit my account, because I had bid. The better business bureau is not doing their job if they are allowing this company to use them as a endorsement.
I LOVE THIS SITE. ANYTHING YOU DO WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR MONEY YOU SHOULD READ EVERYTHING THAT IS POSTED ON THE SITE. QUIBIDS HAS ALL THIS INFORMATION POSTED THAT EVERYONE IS FUSSING ABOUT. I BOUGHT BIDS THE FIRST TIME I WENT ON TO THIS SITE THEN CHANGED MY MIND ABOUT PLAYING AND THEY REFUNDED MY MONEY BACK TO MY ACCOUNT WITHIN 5 WORKING DAYS. I HAVE SAVED SOME MONEY ON THIS SITE BUT THIS SITE IS ALSO FOR ENTERTAINMENT. SO IF YOU ARE NOT WILLING TO LOSE SOME MONEY DO NOT PLAY ANY KIND OF GAMES BECAUSE EVERYONE THAT PLAYS CAN NOT BE A WINNER.
The system used by quibids provides no protection to us the consumer against them bidding on their own products increasing the value to where they may be making $2,000 on a product that normally sells for $150. They need to set it up much like Ebay where there is some guarantee of this not happening. I did some research and after watching the site for some time, I concluded that there may be some self bidding. I would stay away from this site until there is more protection to the consumer.
Do the math…
Quibids charges 60 cents for each bid, OK they give a few away free, so lets bring this down to averaging 45 cents per bid which nets them $45.00 for every dollar in price for the item.
Example, you’ve seen the person who won the Honda Civic for $1800.00??? Quibids made a whopping $81,000 for that Honda Civic… What a bargain!!!
iPad for 67.00??? Quibids made $3015.00 off of that iPad…
Quibids is a money Machine, plain and simple, and they are doing nothing but taking money from the fools that use the service…
Quibids sucks. You pay $60 for the privilege of bidding on something you are unlikely to win, and, if you do, you pay more than what you can go down the street and pick up without shipping.
So let me get this straight. Quibid forces no one toid on any of their items and somehow it it their fault?
ARILLIA is from quibids- beaware
Thanks for the explanation! Was curious how it worked. Thanks again!
These type of sites pray on consumer ignorance and it is BS. Anyone who protects this type of behavior is themselves ignorant. I understand people should do the research and read all agreements but not everyone is going to do that and that is what these sites are hoping for. They sure make it sound a lot different during their commercials. Funny how that is! Another scum bag company out to rip off the people.
I am a nice lawyer, and Quibids is clearly a scam. Sotheby’s and Christie’s make about 5% as a transaction fee, yet Quibids can make about 1000% per transaction, and sometimes much more. I just watched hundreds of bids placed on a single basic good, raising the price to $26 over the course of two hours, with each bid costing the bidder $0.60 each. A second grade C+ math student can tell you that a $0.01 increase in bid price should not cost $0.60 per bid. Unless, of course, it is a scam.
Enjoy it while you can, Quibids. If the FTC doesn’t get you, the Attorneys General will.
I started to register to use this site and decided against it. Like others, I was not willing to pay $.60 for every penny. The math just didn’t compute. I could not see giving away money for nothing. Shame on you Qbids for taking people’s hard earned money. To think, I heard about this site on GMA. People should never give out credit card info before actually getting what they want first.
I have many pennies that I will be glad to sell for 60 cents apiece. Any takers? I am legit. Don’t miss your chance!
When it comes to anything like this, I always follow the same rule. If it looks to good to be true, it is probably a scam.
ok, so like, i had called Quibids and they were all about helping my questions and answering then, telling me how many people have won all different things on their site and saved so much money
i asked “so how did they save if they were paying $0.60 for ever penny bid” that question was avoided to a different answer and was told “what item are you looking to save on today”
i asked a different question “how many people there in the office log on and bid on items to make the price go up so people pay more for something their suppose to pay less for” was told “thats not how we do things here sir” had to laugh
asked one last question “so tell me, how many cars do you really have to sell that are real that are not just on the site that you guys just bid on your self have people bid on so you can rip them off and take their money” all i got was “sorry sir, i can’t understand you” and was soon after disconnected, oddly enough, i would never use QuiBid if they were the last website to buy ANYTHING from
Search “Quibids are Scammers” on facebook and like me please!
If other bidders are upping their bids by just pennies each on something that’s trending under $20.00, for instance, and I’m willing to pay $100.00 for that same item (let’s say it’s a XOOM), can I just skip playing the “up it 1 penny at a time” game and just use a single credit for the $100.00 bid instead? —I don’t have to spend all 60 of my credits at once do I? [email protected]
Ohhh! I see! Here’s some vital information from a similar site: “The following statement is very important for any customer or potential customer of DealDash to read and fully understand before using the service:
By registering and using ______ you understand that you are likely to spend more money than you may receive in product value. Most customers using the site lose money. DealDash pays out on average between 70% to 90% of the money spent by customers back through product value.
DealDash is convinced that the entertainment value of participating in its auctions is well worth any money spent on the site even in the event of possible losses. By using the service you understand and agree to this statement.”.
And… you can’t just wait until the last second or two and try to use one credit BECAUSE it resets the countdown clock every time someone bids. SO… it’s still going to sell based on what the market’s willing to spend between the bid price and how much they’re willing to blow on pre-purchased “credits”. What a ripoff! Be careful. They’re right, though, it is entertaining to watch the bids.
To all those complaining about the site being a scam…have you actually read and understood how the site works? You’re never out ANY money if you’re willing to pay retail price for the item. Say something is $100 and I’m trying to win it. I place 50 bids which cost me $30 (50 * .60 = 30). If I don’t win, I then have the option to buy the item at retail price (100) and my bids are credited towards it. So I only have to pay $70 at the end since my $30 in bids was credited to it. The only people who lose money are those who expect to get a PS3 for 10 bucks and then aren’t willing to pay retail price for it if they don’t win. As long as you’re bidding on items you are going to buy anyway, you will never be out a dime and have a small chance at saving serious money.
I LOVE THIS SITE. YOU CANT GO ONTO IT THINKING YOUR GOING TO GET SOMETHING FOR NOTHING!!! I WIN LOTS OF THINGS AND IT TAKES TIME TO SIT AND WATCH HOW IT WORKS I HAVE LOST A LITTLE BUT GOT MORE BACK NO QUESTION! OF COURSE THE SITE MAKES A KILLING BUT THATS BECAUSE PEOPLE ACT LIKE THEY ARE GAMBLING AND NOT WANT EACH OTHER THE WIN ETC. IF YOU DO IT RIGHT AND PLAN ON BUYING SOMETHING RETAIL PRICE YOU WILL DEFINITLEY SAVE SOME MONEY. THEY TELL YOU RIGHT OFF THE GET HOW IT WORKS AND IF YOUR TO STUPID TO READ THE RULES ITS NOT THEIR FAULT. DO IT RIGHT AND WAIT TILL THE BIDDING GOES DOWN TO A FEW PEOPLE AND JUMP IN YOU WILL WIN. I HAVE WON A TON OF THINGS, JEWELRY, GIFT CARDS, AUTO WINE OPENER. IM NOT TRYING TO GET A IPAD OR TV BECAUSE I KNOW PEOPLE ARE WILLING TO SPEND A LOT FOR IT AND STILL NOT PAY RETAIL. IF I WANTED ONE I WOULD USE QBIDS THOUGH AND STILL SAVE MONEY IN THE LONG RUN.
Mike has it. The site is bad for 99% of people. But like he said, if you’re going to purchase it anyway, you might as well try to bid for it. But if you just want to get cheap stuff, prepare to be ripped off. I don’t think these types of sites should exist. The generally population is not smart enough or discipled enough to handle them.
Quibids.com definitely is a scam. My sister lost $60 and is still trying to get it back. I think the idea is great, but looks as if some are legit and others scams. personally I like bidrack.com. Haven’t had a problem with them yet.
I agree with Mike (sort of) I can definitely vouch for bidrack, but have never used quibids, personally.
I’ve won thousands worth of products on Quibids! I would definitely try signing up. The best part is that you get your money back if you don’t like it, I had a friend get all of his money back. Use this link and get free bids as well which is nice since they are $.60 each!
so i was curious and signed up for quibids then i saw it wanted 60 bucks just for signing up so i quick deleted my account, never made 1 bid or even looked at anything to bid on, did they take 60 bucks or no?
This site is a scam. I have watched a few items and watched as they hit one second to go then pause at that one second then add another bid. Personally its a gambling website and it needs to be portrayed as one. This site cannot compare to ebay because in fact i can bid on an item on ebay say $7.00 someone outbids me in not charged period. So therefore dont use the site unless you are seriously wanting an item just go to ebay.
I haven’t played the QuiBids game but for everyone who said they were scammed out of money are fools. Do you just give your credit card info out without reading? Why does everyone think that QuiBids is out to just take money? If you dont like their business model dont sign up. Stay on ebay. If I remember correctly a business is only open if they make money not just give a product away.
The reason Quibids is a scam is because they bait and switch. If you are a new bidder, then you are given twice as many auctions to bid on. Once you have won 7 or 8 good auctions, then the number of auctions available to you for bidding is dramatically cut by at least on half. This obviously reduces your odds. If Quibids is so legit, then why would they do this without notification? I had a friend open a new account. She and I looked at the available auctions from her computer as a new bidder(this excludes beginner auctions I’m only referring to regular) and compared my auctions available at the same moment. There were 60% more available regular auctions on her account. SCAM because they don’t disclose this aspect of the game.
If you do well they will actually block you from seeing certain auctions.

Here you have it direct from Quibids The response given when I questioned their bait and switch tactics. I wonder how this customer service rep rationalizes this type of answer and sleeps at night.

QuiBids Customer Support
Im seeing alot more complaints on this company so I would personally not use Quibids. It looks as tho many others are feling scammed by this company and are submitting complaints. Look how many unsatisfied customers they have! scambook.com/browse/index/company/10/Quibids
IMPORTANT A MUST READ
Its not a scam because a scam is illeagle and cheats you out of money.
Quibids is totally legal and outsmarts you out of money.
Quibids makes a profit by using the simple penny auction profit meathod BUYING BIDS.
Every ONE cent bid on an item Quibids makes 60¢ so here is how you calculate this by a simple math equation P=60X-I
Where P=profit X=cents bidded I= item ptice.
Now if you understand 7-8th grade math you will understand how they make their money.
For Example: lets say that Quibids just started an auction selling a PS3 that originally cost 300$ all they need is for the auction to go up to five dollars and how they get the bid to 5$ is by the Bid-O-Matic meathod where they give you the option of bidding while not needing to keep clicking bid and be their every waking moment, so when ever some one outbids you, you out bid them thats how the Bid-O-Matic works.
If the Bid-O-Matic method doesn’t work they might have some Bid Inflaters
Bid Inflaters are bots made to bid using a account setup by the company to make a profit (NOTICE THE BID INFLATING METHOD IS ONLY APPLIED TO BIG TICKET ITEMS) here is how you can tell there is a bid inflater in the auction.
1. Most of the time they are the winner
2. They bid at the last second (literally)
3. When you join an auction that no one is in some one suddenly joins (Big
Ticket items are the exception here)
IF YOU DON’T UNDERSTAND THIS OR NEED HELP UNDERSTANDING THIS E-MAIL ME AT naaim1998(at)yahoo.com
I joined QuiBids and fortunately I am out only $20. First. I have a college degree in Accounting with some statistical background. I watched the bidding for two days, over 20 hours, and came to the conclusion that something was wrong. Before bidding I saw this item go for no more than 25 bids in two days of monitoring. But as soon as I made a bid five other bidders showed up and run the item up to almost full value. So I did an experment. I put four items the same in my watchlist, 50 Bid Vouchers. Then I kept switching back an forth watching them during which each had only two or three bidders. I then pulled one of the four up and placed a bid. Six bids followed my single bid almost instantly and within 30 seconds there was 12 bidders fighting over this Voucher while the other three Vouchers went vertually ignored with one selling for 7 bids. I switched to another which was at 5 bids by two bidders and placed a bid and bingo, eight bidders popped up. The other one I placed a bid on seemed to slow down to two bidders and sold shortly after I left and bid on the the other. Try it yourself and see what I am talking about. As soon as you place a bid the bidders come out of the woodwork while the other similar items go vertually ignored and sell for a fraction of the price of the one you are bidding on. It is my opinion that there maybe “Bot-Bidders” or at the very least “Schills” operating on the auction.
Naarim Anous,
How is using a bot or “Bid Inflator” in any way shape or form not cheating the consumer out of money? Hence, making it illegal for this company to opperate the way that they do. It’s like going into a store and asking the cashier for all their money. Is this not robbery? If it is not please tell me what your deffintion of stealing is.
I recently won a $100 gift card from Quibids for a measly $10.35! That’s right $10.35 – I couldn’t believe it! It was one of the easiest and funniest bidding processes I have ever been apart of – and I got my goods in less then 2 weeks!!! Love you quibids!!
My wife wasted over $400 on Quibids all she ever won was more bids. I cut up her credit cards
Well 1st of all this is my first time using Quibids and this is what I think, so I open my account with $60 that gave me a 100 bids at 0.60 cent each bid, I started to bid in a Apple Tv, after 70 bids I won the Apple Tv, so if you make the math 70 bids x 0.60 cents I wasted $42 on bids to win at $3.42 so in total lets say $46 + shipping at $11 so a total of $57 now on my account I only have 30 more bids which I think wont get to far in a big auction so thats a waste so in reality you could say I paid the full $60 + the 3.42 + the shipping $11 in a gran total of $75, now the apple tv at a store is a 100 plus tax so you could say I won, but in reality the one who won is Quibids, because like me there where another people bidding so out of 342 bids 70 there my, there was a other 272 bid that where made at 0.60 they made a $164 dollar profit without counting the money they will receive from me, so I can only say 2 thing, one this will be the 1st and last time I use Quibid and 2nd where do I buy stocks for this company because if there’s many more idiots out there like me theres alot of money to be made in this company, o and I’ll stick to ebay better.
While QuiBids may not use bots directly, they do allow access to such softwares as bidfellow, so in realty, bots are controlling the auction results. I participated in a number of auctions after doing a statistical sample of what I wanted (Callaway golf irons) and figuring out the number of bids needed to win the item and the starting point where the bidding should begin. All of that research doesn’t mean anything when a bidder appears out of the blue, places one bid and wins the item as time “expires” (notice expires is emphasized). I participated in four different auctions on different dates where I was the high bidder when the clock struck zero, only to experience a momentary pause and a new bidder or a new winner appearing after the auction closed. When I brought this to the attention of customer service, I was told it was internet lag, though my installed monitoring system showed no lag, and the other auctions I was watching simulataneously were still going with no interruptions. It’s apparent that QuiBids controls many of the auction outcomes as the same bidders more times than not, are the actual auction winners.
I started out winning alot of prizes and come to find out I would of paid less if I would of went to the store. It is a scam NO MORE QUIBIDS.
Do the supporters not understand that this is not deceptive?? Shouldn’t be that difficult to understand.
why don’t they just make it 61 cents a bid. That way it sounds like there is some honesty involved
Smart, decent, hard working people need to pay attention to all the postings here.
To reiterate what most have said – stick with eBay or just go buy what you need. Quibids is very dandergous…just stay away.
Or, just watch and be amazed at the mindless insanity poeple put themselves through. 🙂
$397 laptop is still bidding at $17.13 (.60) = $1027.80.
Talk about the rich stealing (scamming) from the poor. Man!!!
Quibids is the best way to lose money. It is hard to explain how someone would start to bid for an Ipad or big TV unless they have bots running or employees on their behalf to start the bid. I tried it once and won few gift cards, but once you start winning the competition gets high. Like you’d see people jumping up at the last minute and bidding for a $25 gift card and spending more than $25 just for the bid. And these last minute “bidders” wont give up until you lose all your money by placing more bids. They usually are in bid-o-matic mode making those final bids. I am sure these are bots because no one in his sane mind would spend $90 or more for a $50 gift card. To prove this I setup a camcorder on my monitor and recorded the whole bidding process of a gift card. I then counted the number of bids the “winner” and his “competitor” has placed, and it was wayyyyyyyy more than the actual value of the gist card itself. This proved to me that there are possibly bots running or insane people spending their money like crazy. Quibids has to prove these are actually real people winning…not those commercials that portray some individuals carrying a big inch tv. Never went to the site after proving my point….I can upload the video if anyone is interested.
Okay, so I tried Quibids after reading the information they had listed for beginners. It was fun, and I didn’t lose anything but my time; it is very time consuming and before participating I recommend watching other auctions and how the bidding works. I did win a necklace valued at $89.50 that I wouldn’t have paid anything at all for; it cost me .27 cents – along with the shipping of $6.95. In my next auction I won a $50 dollar gift card with only one bid – now that was exciting, but it made me wonder if the auction is rigged for the new bidders. The next auction I bid on was another gift card for $200 gift card. I figured if I lost the auction I could at least apply my bids as a credit and pay the difference receiving a gift card I can use – this way I was out only the $1.99 for shipping. I did lose, so now what do I have to show for my $287.00 investment? Two gifts cards valued at $250, and a necklace that I don’t want supposedly valued at $89.50…hmm, I think I’ve had enough fun with Quibids; they are getting stinking rich while we mindlessly spend our .60 cents for a penny. Wish I had thought of the business plan – they can’t lose. Hey, maybe I can sell the necklace on ebay! If it looks like a lemon, smells like a lemon and tastes like a lemon, it’s probably a lemon – I’m just saying.
I read all of the rules, and as a first time user I won a $650.00 nikon D3000. First of all I knew I wasn’t going to get it for nothing.
I bid at 1 sec only after overbidding at first. I got the camera for $250.00. I am not dissapointed because I really saved $400.00 I understood the risk when I started. I watched the bids for a while and if
you click on the item you are bidding on It pops up a screen to allow you
to watch the other bidders. Stay the course or don’t play. As long as it is cheaper than what you can get it in the store you have won. Yes it isn’t fair to loose your money.
Go for it or go buy it in the store. Second of all you can choose buy
out and get the money you spent on your bids credited toward the purchase
price. So be prepared to spend full price on it if you lose.
If you expect something for nothing you are not going to get it.
Since QuiBids tracks users by their IP addresses… try this experiment:
Monitor some auctions on YOUR computer… at the same time a friend of yours (in another state) is monitoring the same auction.
Why are the prices different?
Why do the bidders have different names?
Why can you not even SEE (or bid) on items that your friend is looking right at now?
I spent 1/2 day watching a never-ending auction for iPad… it finally sold for $128.00, which means there were 12,800 1-cent bids submitted. Well, if they charge $.60 per bid, just how much did that $500 iPad sold for??? I would like to SELL something 🙂
THIS IS A SCAM – NO DOUBT!
JIM! I AM INTERSTED,,QUIBIDS IS THE EASIEST SITE IN THE WORLD I LOVE IT!
Quibids is a ripoff no matter how anyone sugar coats it.
Quibids is not a scam. Anybody who says this is crazy. I wish I would have thought of this. They are not taking your money, you are giving it to them if you bid on a product and not willing to buy if you lose. Those are the idiots and brainless people. If you are bidding on something you do not intend to buy. DON”T BID ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
Too good to be true is. This will eventually be found as a fence of stolen goods. Yes, quibids.
The information I am about to share is fact and comes from the direct source of these “penny auctions.”
One of the owners boasted about his site to someone I know very well.
1. Just about every other penny auction site is owned by the same family. With different members of the family running different sites and acting like they’re competing against each other- A good business strategy.
2. Here is why these penny auctions are a scam. Let’s say one of the penny auction sites has a 50inch led tv. People will bid on it from that site and the winner is no one. Then they pass the tv to the next site and then to the next site and so on until they get to their last site. THEN they’ll actually claim a winner and send out the TV. So if the TV costed them $1500 and each auction made them 3 grand in profit and they have 10 sites rolling, they just made $30,000 off of one TV.
3. Now I heard this information a year ago. The family should be well of by now to the point where they can actually give out prizes from every site. But this is exactly how they started off doing business.
Given that Quibids is the most popular of all penny auction sites, this is the site where you will most likely be receiving your prize. (If they still use their con strategy).
I have read about people bidding on items and actually winning them when the timer went out, but then they would go back and see that the item was won by someone else. When he sent an email to the penny auctioneer, they apologized and gave him back half of the credits he used.
Also, just by signing up, you need to give out your credit card information. They will instantly charge your credit card without a proper notice. This is why you read “terms and conditions” first. Very misleading and shady business.
Another way they scam people is once the auction gets high and you know it’s about to end and if you forget to put it in your watch list and turn off your comp, you can’t find it when you come back. Also, I’ve been bidding and seen the pause at one sec and another thing they do is go from like 4 sec to zero… a bunch of crooks
Quibids products are over priced
My husband is not very tech-savvy. He spent over $600 trying to win a cell phone. He woke me up in the middle of the night when he had realized what happened. I have to try and sort this out with the bank because no refunds will be issued by quibids and that was the rent money!
I wish I had realized what he was doing before it got to this point. I know it was his fault for not reading up on it, but after doing some research it seems like he was never going to win anyway. Please avoid this predatory website.
Qpids is a scam ,only the assshole above says its not cause he works for the company, people avoid this site, stay with ebay you think your getting something for a great price when infact your losing, dont support these 1 penny scam auction sites
yes it isn’t like ur goina get a iPad for 10 dollars lol that probably happened after a crash lol. however it isn’t a scam technically.
quibids is actually god if your going to buy somthing at retail, it gives you a chance to save but as like above stated about the ps3 i was just on there. a dozen people trying to buy a 8gig apple ipod for like 0.64.
the reason this site makes money is because retards get on there and again as said above think theyre goina get a droid bionic for a dollar(example)if you see it about to end for like $64
put abot $450.00 on it, theyll stop bidding most likely , however this is a risk. to be safe on quibids have the moneyy for the retail price first incase you lose since they let you take you bid that u lost and use that to help pay for the item. and to the person i just noticed corvenus. dont take this personally but u need to wake up i agree with him its not a scam. i do not work for quibids. i have a small website
