Quibids Review Is It a Scam
Penny Auctions my personal opinion is don’t get involved with them unless you have at least 75% of the retail price of the product you are seeking to purchase. Another thing is before you get into a website like Quibids.com make sure you READ the terms and conditions and also understand what you are getting yourself into.
Penny Auctions work off ignorance (in my opinion) and they’re time consuming. The reason why I say you should have at least 75% of the money of the retail value of the item you wish to purchase is because the penny auctions in many ways are all about backing up your bid with your commitment. You lose in Penny Auctions when you are not willing to commit to a particular item.
Do you follow me here? Because if you don’t you will lose all of your money in a penny auction very quickly. When getting into this type of endeavor you’ve got to have some heart and also have some money, again I recommend 75% of the value of the item you seek. Another thing to keep note of is that with Penny Auction sites the house always wins.
Example: Three guys fighting for a PS3 console these three men are all serious and only one person can win. Each of these three men are willing to pay over $100 for this PS3 and they do, they each use up $120 in credits to try and win this PS3 console but only one person wins. This is how the penny auction website wins all of their money. This is also the reason why most people never win ANYTHING in Penny Auction Sites. Again the house has to make their profit when getting involved in these penny auctions never forgets that.
Online Penny Auction Scams
Now when you are dealing with penny auction sites ONLINE!!! There’s the fear actually it’s my fear that the game is RIGGED. This is my reason for not getting involved in this type of auction. The reason why eBay has become so successful is because only the winning bidder has to pay. Because penny auctions use NON REFUNDABLE credits the instant you sign up with them is the instant you’ve basically lost your money.
So if you the money you’ve invested is not at least 75% of the retail value of the product you want and if you are not prepared to go all the way with your bids then forget about it. When you look at Penny Auctions from the proper perspective it’s plain to see why people scream scam all the time. Now personally I don’t think Quibids.com is a scam but at the same time I don’t recommend you join them.
Wait a minute – How did $.60 per bid become 1 Cent per bid?
Nothing on Quibids is being sold for 1 cent the fact of the matter is that each bid costs each user 60 cents per placed bid. The real allure of Penny Auctions is the name and online it’s also the visual presentation meaning once you see your desired item on auction for a few cents or dollars, most people are going to think to themselves hey this looks simple and cheap let me try that. Like I said above when getting involved with online penny auctions you have to purchase credits meaning the house has already won. And like with any other auction site there can only be ONE winner, but unlike traditional auction sites where only the winner has to pay for the price of item, a penny auction website means once you vote you’ve paid for the price of the item. So each time you vote you lose credits.
Penny Auctioning is border line gambling in my opinion. Also penny auction sites work in reverse. The larger the penny auction site gets the harder it gets for members and the better it gets for the house (in this case Quibids.com). If you want to sign up for Quibids.com don’t let me stop you just don’t say I didn’t warn you. Please leave your comments or your experience with Quibids below it helps others.

I cannot recommend quibids to anyone. A total waste of money. I have literally spent hundreds of hours watching and participating in auctions and feel reasinable confident the site isn’t a scam (although they charged my credit card twice for the same charge), per say, but anyone shopping there must realize it is a gamble and the house is setup to win. These folks are very clever and they don’t care about you as a customer, they just want your cash and have created a legal way to tap into gambling instincts, gaming and American consumerism to make themselves rich.
If you feel like making them rich, give them your cash. Otherwise, find another place to buy things.
This is bordering on fraud but not crossing the line. Once you bid and give your credit information, you can not withdraw – there is not cancel button – as the moments tick, your credit card is being charged. The web site does not explain that that you are being charged. I just wanted to try and see if I could get stuff for $10 – once that limit was reached, there was no place I could go on the web to limit my loss by halting the transaction – they could have charged me $500 ! I got charged $67.80 – No email or explanation whether I won or lost or how it came out to be $67.80. I am complaining to Better Business Bureau – as all the conditions of the transaction are not displayed and you can not call immediately. Other thing that I just did is call my Credit Card Company – they will investigate and let me know with in 8 weeks ( they have to give Qbids time to investigate ) – I would like to know if any ONE won at all ? or was it all in all a fraud. ie where is the rd line ? There are licensing requirements to operate lotteries, gambling houses and auctions. That is my next step. I would like ANYONE who has won ANYTHING from Qbids to please let us know so that authorities can followup – verify if the winner if from Qbids or a legit winner. Bottom line – KEEP AWAY from this site – report to BBB and your credit card company.
I got lucky, but yet, I have a mixed feeling about it. Even though I’ve won 4 items, since joining 3 weeks ago. I started with $60.00 to buy 100 credits.
4 success and many failed attempts….
1. My first win, a diamond necklace and 20 more bids … was charged 13 cents for the bid, and 7.99 for shipping. I spent 2 bids. Okay, I came out ahead right off the bat. (Later I received the necklace, no…it was not worth $50 they claim.)- end feeling, it’s a wash…
2. I won $25 of Drug store gift card, lucky there. 3 bids, and I won… could not believe it… shipping $1.99… (The card arrived with in 7 days)… all is well.
3. I won black & decker weed wacker, value $99… for 9 cents, shipping was 8.99… a week later, I got the email that said they don’t have the item, and give me a listing of ‘replacement’ product choices, plus 25 more bid credit… So I picked a vacuum cleaner value at $140 and get the 25 credit… So far I’m ahead… (if the product arrive, which I think it will). But really, if you think about it…they don’t have to have the products you are bidding on…I would have been pissed if I didn’t find anything, but of the 30 choices or so, I found something I can use…fair enough.
4. Today, I won another $25 gift card… but this time I spent 24 credits to win it. I figure what the heck, I got 25 free bidding credits… +Final cost 80cents,… still ahead… I think. Don’t know why I chose this product to bid on…that gambler in me, just want to see if I can win it.
NOW. for the loss… in all I lost a few bids to items that i wasn’t that serious about. I have less than 20 bid left from the original 100… I am going to walk away when all my bids run out. If I get lucky and happen to win more bids then I’ll stay. But I will not be buying anymore bids. Because you are right, you can spend hours watching, and wishing, and hoping that you get lucky, and some time you do, and some time you don’t…and in the end, the sure winners are the house. They don’t have to have the products on hands. they can go and buy them after all they are making a killing from everyone and what if they themselves out bid you, because they can… how are you going to know???? So I’m taking my beginner luck now and run…
Advice…. if you are on the fense, and are not a gambler, DONT DO IT. I am a gambler, I go to Vegas, and I lose money playing slot. So $100 is nothing to me… Ive lost much more.
I spent maybe $100 in bidding and shipping, but this time I have products to show for my $100 that is worth more than a $100. So I can say… I didn’t lose.
Quibids is not a scm, it’s a money making machine that most people do not know how to play the game. I’ve been a member for a year now and got all of our xmas gifts off quibids. Sure, at first I lost on some auctions … then I started to watch auctions and see who the resellers were and what they were biding on, smartened up and started winning any auction I wanted to win. I got golf clubs, GPS devices, a phone system ,vacuun cleaner, camera’s, Oakley sun glasses and a bevy of gift cards.I’ve sat for hours and watched people get caught up in the minute and bid till they were blue in the face and a new bidder got the item for less than a buck. Sure quibids is making a ton of money on some items I’ve actually seen bids totaling over $30k for a $2500.00 item. If you think a $300.00 item is not worth a couple of bucks…. then it must a scam.Rightttttttttt
Quibids IS a scam. The actual activity may be BORDERLINE legal, but the site is a scam because they don’t tell you that it IS a lottery more than an auction site.
This is basically a modern version of the old shell game for rubes who don’t know that they’re being had.
I predict that they will be shut down by the Govt.
It’s only a matter of time….
I’ve played quibids for awhile and some of these posts don’t make sense. Like I wanted to play up to $10.00…ok than bid 16 times and you’ll spend no more than $9.60. If they charged you $67.80 you would have had to buy bids for that much and I’ve not seen bid packs for that amount. You must have bought a $60.00 bid pack (and it’s obvious when you’ve bought a bid pack) and if you look at your purchases it gives a detail account of what you were charged for. I use paypal so no they can’t charge my credit card $500 without me buying bids or product. And to the person who knows they are all owned by 1 person haha you have no clue what you’re talking about, that doesn’t even make sense if you stick with sites that have true buy nows. I’m not saying some sites are not scams but if you stick with Quibids and Skoreit that have true buy nows it’s a small gamble. I only bid on cards…they are hard to win but I know a $100 Walmart card is worth $100 there is no overcharging. I don’t bid once unless I commit to taking it all the way to a buy now if necessary. If I have to buy now it cost me $1.99 shipping. I use paypal with my discover card where I get $1.00 of that back so basically it costs me .99 to try to win a $100 gift card. In the end I’ve spent $100.99 and I have a $100.00 Walmart card I can use when I grocery shop. I only win 1 in about 5 so I end up buying most cards but when I win I’ve generally won the card at half price or better and the 4 times I lost I spent $4.00 + the price of the card and I only bid on cards where I spend money anyway. I’ve always received the cards within a week and they have always been valid. You have to be smart and not place bids here and there because you think you’ll win a $100 card for a few cents. It doesn’t usually happen and you’re going to be mad and think it’s a scam when it’s you’re own fault because you didn’t do your homework before you bid. It does take a lot of time so if you don’t enjoy it you won’t find it worth the time. And most people are not going to stay very far ahead even if you play smart and don’t waste bids. If I have time and want play the game I play with the understanding I’ll buy now if I don’t win…and if I win it’s exciting. To the post who talks about Quibid making auctions invisable once they reach some $ point is correct. Quibids does play games with putting people who have won into different tiers and making it so you can’t see an auction that you have looked at earlier. You have to put them in your watched list to see it all the way through. I don’t like Quibids games and don’t know why they feel they are necessary. Skoreit doesn’t play these games but almost all auctions come with more bids so if you lose you’re not only buying the gift card but more bids. The bids you buy are worth whatever you’ve paid for them in the next buy it now where quibids these bids are voucher bids and can’t be used in buy it now but many of Quibids auctions don’t include voucher bids in the auction…only the gift card. Both sites have pro/cons.
Thank you for great, clear and useful explanation!
Is 100% a scam. Don’t take this info from people on here that work for quibids, take it from me who was scammed $1700.00 in a matter of minutes after signing up for what I thought was a free 300 bids trial. They had to have my credit card to charge for the shipping and it was 100% no risk and you were guaranteed to win or you got more free credits till you did. The trusting person in me took it and got bit in the ass, when I saw the charges I almost passed out as my quibids account showed the charges, even when I called mastercard, they said there was nothing they could do until they reviewed the terms and agreements I signed on Monday and it was Saturday, they said once reviewed I may be able to get my money back if they were against the terms but there was no guarantee and they could continue charging. I was freaking out I have considered suing for post tramatic stress, it was a horrible experience. It wasn’t until I had the economics crime division and fraud team from the police and the news get involved that I got my money back, six months later with the accrude interest at my expense. Think twice, never use a credit card online, by prepaid only and don’t buy anything you can’t afford to lose. To see more on this scammer look up W5 on the net and watch the video on this punk ass piece of shit. I hope the guy from quibids burns in hell.
You people crying “scam” are all idiots. Without you, of course, penny auction sites couldn’t exist.
The fact that you got nothing for your money doesn’t make it a “scam”. They tell you exactly what’s going to happen, and you’re too stupid to understand it – this is not a “scam”. This is you choosing to throw away your own money and then being too stupid to realize it.
The setup couldn’t be simpler. You pay the site for the ability to bid. Each bid COSTS YOU MONEY. You cannot possibly sign up without understanding this. If you were to think this through, you would understand how it works. For it to be an auction, more than one person must be bidding. Duh. Likewise, for it to be an auction, only one person can win. Duh. What did you expect?
No, I don’t work for quibids. I just happen to find the raging ignorance of people like you offensive.
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR OWN ACTIONS. Don’t give a website your credit card if you aren’t smart enough to understand what you’re paying for!
You want to find out if a site is a scam. I think it is, confirming my belief, first your bids are less than what you bought, infact you are able to bid less than 1/3 of what you pay for when you are told you no longer have bids. I actually counted to make sure it is a scam. I deactivated immediately and told them I am deactivating because it is a scam. I think the government should look into them.
It works exactly as advertised.
It is risky, but not a scam (especially is you are stupid).
I’m beginning to think half the people here do not know the definition of the word scam, LOL>
Report QuiBids to the BBB if you are unsatisfied with your experience. ALSO, contact your state Attorney General and let them know about this gambling and scamming website.
I do not think quibids is a scam either, the company does explain how the system works. The explanation is not misleading in my opinion. When you sign up and buy a bid package you need to consider that the money is already lost. Each bid costs you $.60. This or nothing about this company that is hard to understand.
When you place a bid you lose $.60 live with it, it is after all your choice. Quibids states that you will never pay any more than the value price
of the product. The value price may be just a bit lower than the regular retail in store price, MAY BE LOWER, not guaranteed lower.
Ok, so now you have won the auction and your satisfied with the price. You got a reasonable deal on the item you won. But is it so good if you lose. The answer to that is yes and no, depends on what you do. The way I read it is that if you lose the auction you also lose your bids at $.60 a bid that could be expensive, but you do have an alternative. You have the opportunity to buy the product at the value price. You have a two hour window to do this. If you do this the price of the bids you used in the auction will be deducted from the value price when you purchase the product at the value price. Then your not really a winner, but you never lost your money either.
Sounds like a great way for the company to make money. After the bidding is done if you did not win you have only one choice. Buy the product at the value price or lose your bid money. I think it is great for the company and ok for you, even though you are sort of forced to buy the product at the value price or lose the bid money.
Personally I would never deal with them. I do not like being forced to buy anything and it is just to much of a gamble for me. So think about it before you do it. If you have even read part of the rules you should understand how it works. Took me about 30 minutes reading to figure this out. Truthfully the only one scamming you is yourself not the company. Once again read before you leap.
try Quibids—if it’s’ not a scam, then it’s the twilight zone.
frustrating, time consuming, unproductive, expensive and possibly rigged.
STAY AWAY!!!! I DIDN’T HEED THE WARNINGS.
quibids=nobargain
i opened an account with Quibids i didnt like what i was reading so i terminated my account, Quibids charged me $60.00 to do, so how much are these people are making A BIG SCAMM
Quibids will be shut down very soon. SCAM
Don’t make these yayhoos’ rich. It is controlled. Think about it…sixty cents per penny at a time…times one dollar? They’ve already used up one person joining at $60.00. Add say three people are bidding and bring an item up to $3.oo. They just made $180.00. They are selling an item that retails for $25.00. Your happy because you only spent $1.00 plus shipping…if you win. Watch those last minute bidders join in…hence the controlled part. Sixty cents for a measly penny increase. Think people.
These penny auction sites are popping up like weeds these days, but most of them are not worth joining.
Deep down, we are all greedy in nature and we all want the best deal and more than one if we can get it cheap. More the better even if it is same items that we just won. We love to bragging to friends and families how we only pay $10.00 for those Xbox that cost near $400.00 at the game store…. or… Isn’t that the reason that we engaged in penny auctions, so that we can get it at super bargain in the first place?
I have been bidding on pennyauction for about 2 years now. I must admit that not all sites are created equal. But, if you ask me, they are NOT scamming anyone.
If you don’t want to take a chance of losing with your hard earn money, then, don’t bid! Simple is that. If you don’t know how these auction sites operate, you should do own homework before bidding any items.
I also know some online auction sites refund your unused bids without questioning. Some auction sites offer option of ‘buy now’. So, even if you do not win, you can still buy the items that you are bidding at retail price and get the full credit on the every bid that you used to bid on the item. So, To me, this is win/win situation.
Many sites offer 3-10 free bids when registering, so that you can try it. Like zBiddy, you go there everyday and spin the wheel to get the free bid. You can try with free bid to learn how auction works without spending a penny of your money. If you wish, you can even save all your free bids that you win by spinning the wheel for few weeks and you start bidding on the item that you really want. As you see, there is away to educate yourself without spending any of your money.
If you always win that iPad for $25.00, Dyson fan for $ 2.00 Laptop for $10.00 and …… would you still accuse of these company for Scamming you? If you look at the auction in progress, you will see there’s many items that sells so cheap that actually house lost money on many items too. I won from zBiddy; brand new Cuisinart 6 waffle maker, retail price at $ 130.00 – 160.00. I used free bid that I received from spinning wheel and won the item at $ 0.02. Did not cost me anything except for the shipping. The luck may have played in this experience, but nonetheless, it does happen time to time. This item, I won big and zBiddy lost.
So, Come on! Don’t accuse them as scamming you.
Bidders Beware! Do Your Due Diligence before bidding You take responsible for your own action. Frankly, I am really sick and tired of hearing word “Scam’! I think we use this word “SCAM” too loosely these days.
Quibids has 939 BBB complaints to date, enough said.
I am currently on quibids and I love it!! All you have to do is win bid packs and you will never have to spend money on bids. People who are saying its a scam is so stupid. You per pay for your bids and they you waste them. It’s not a scam. I have won countless autions and I’m still winning. The auctions are really not hard to win. You just have to know when the right time to enter. Timing is everything. And all you people who think its a scam try playing Wednesday mornings. I will put money on it that you can get items for super cheap. Also don’t try and go for big items to start. Bid on small items and try and get a feeling for auctions. Also I’m pretty sure the BBB is partnered with quibids so good luck trying to get it shut down because it won’t happen.
It’s gambling and is as effective. Anyone dumb enough to bid on these items deserves to pay more for the item than buying from a vendor. i joined this QuiBids to bid on items like an IPod a while back. With so many people trying to bid on the same item, I found that the price drove higher than what it’s worth. I figured it out quickly on after losing $50 and did not win anything. all I did was help run the price up and it went into QuiBids pockets. By the way the the IPod ran up to $200+ and I finally gave and you can buy one at Apple for $199. Get the picture?
It, may be a scam, but it’s a scam that gives you your money’s worth. So if you are the winner, you just got a good deal. If not, better luck next time.
I do not work for Quibids.
SCAM….. along as a REAL USER (human being) is bidding or watching an item the BOTS automatically increase the bid so a real user NEVER wins a big ticket item, ONLY when no real user is paying atention to an aution THEN the item sell real cheap so when a human check the stadistics or results from ended autions (s)he thinks (s)he’ll find good deal… BUT THERE ARE NO SUCH GOOD DEALS…….. NOBODY WILL WIN ANY EXPENSIVE ITEM FOR PENNYS ON THE DOLLAR… if u don’t belive me and think u r smarter and can beat them GO AHEAD AND WASTE U MONEY
Alejandro, I like the way the think. haha. Everyone who joins are “idiots” as you so eloquently put. With anything, read the fine print!!! I just saw an ad and they’ve been around forever so I figured I’d look into to. I just spent 20 minutes reading all terms and conditions and found a lot of sketch fine print. After reading all fine print, I’m not joining. Yay for being smart. It really is too much to write out and inform “idiots” about these conditions. But they probably wouldn’t understand anyway. If you have lost money on these auctions, too bad. IT WAS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY to know what you were getting yourself into. All that being said, if you are new to the term “Terms and Conditions” DON’T JOIN THIS SITE because you won’t comprehend how the site works. The site is a brilliant money maker.
I’m no computer science major, but the way it probably “Misleads” and not “Scams” people is by hired bidders or computer programs. These computers are probably super friggin fast and are placed right next to the servers. These computers can prevent anyone from winning because they can bid on probably a nanosecond level. BUT AHA! say the Quibids computer wins, they must pay for all the bids and the final price of the product!! Okay they paid for all bids plus the sold price plus shipping and handling. Quibids bought the TV and paid Quibids and Quibids now has a TV. They then recirculate the TV and make more money. This isn’t a scam people! Its brilliant and I wish I thought of it. It preys on the ignorant and makes a ton of money.
DO NOT JOIN!
its not a scam people are just stupid sometimes if you want something quibids is great because u have a chance of paying a lot less and no you idiots i dont work for them i won 3 ipads 2 tvs thousands of dollars worth of gift cards and more i saved thousands of dollars 3 days ago i won a new 1pad 16gb wifi it ended 1t at 1.95 i used 49 bids that comes to 31.35 plus 6.99 for shipping now let me tell you i did buy 2 at full price before i won they were 519.99 plus 6.99 for shipping but if you get in store its 530 with tax and rite now stores only let you buy 1 some advise stay away from voucher bids they are a rip off and dont count towards buy it now and also stay away from game plays i learned the hard way buy paying 52 for a 50 gift card and never get into a auction if you dont have all the money to buy it now you could very well lose alot of money this way they ship fast also my items always come in 7 days or less good luck to all and please take my advise you will save trust me just be smart about it
wow just read all the comments damn you people are retards wtf really i never got over charged for anything and yes they are partnered with the bbb they make there money off stupid people like most of you that have very stupid comments quibids doesnt give anyone 300 free bids it cost $180 and there is not 100% wins its a game of chance lisa go do us a favor and jump off the nearest building cause thats how stupid you sound any auction site that lets you buy a 50 gift card for retail isnt a scam and you have a great chance of getting it for less
It’s a scam, 60 cents a bid with easily 5 bids/minutes you are up to losing $200 an hour just bidding with chances of winning much less than casinos slot machines. For every $1 of the auctioned item price QuiBids makes $60 and the buy it option is no bargain as most (none gift cards) items are priced twice what you could buy them elsewhere,Chance of winning an item that closes for $1 is one in 100 and for an item that closes at $10 is 1 in 1000.That is offcourse assuming the bidders are all genuine customers and you are not bidding against QuiBids computers participating as bidders.
It’s an internet gambling website that operates under disguise of auction, with odds of winning less than that of casinos slot machines.
ok lets start by saing yes quibids is a scam all them penny auction are, why for one auction don’t make you pay if you lose at an auction, only the winner pays, with quibids if you lose and i’ll bet you anything you will lose, you lose all your money, the minute you pay for a package that money is gone, i never heard of an auction that makes the loser pay money for losing till now, and for every cent you spend the auction takes from you 60 cent for that one cent bid, this in itself is a scam, any one that says it’s not a scam you can bet your 61 cents they are working for them even the ones that say they aren’t working for them are, there trying to cover there asses by saing that there not a scam, keep in mind any site that asks you for a card is a scam, never use your card, get a gift card that way they can’t tag you, find out what it will cost you for a package, if it’s $100 for the package then get a $100 gift card for every package you what but only use one card at a time, but remember if you use that card your money is gone for good, i’ve been to a lot of auction and never did i pay for losing, only if you win then you pay for that bid, lets say my bid was $80 the auctioner will tag on a small fee for him self form every bid, remember a true auction will not make any loser pay keep this in mind the next time you go on to an auction site, i my self only send a money order or use a gift card if i’m online, QUIBIDS A SCAM YOU BET IT IS
My niece has invested in this company and has suggested that I do the same….according to her she has invested $3300 and is earning $100/day just for advertising for them. Something sounds wrong with the whole process on both side.
The bidding side seems to take advantage of people that don’t or can’t undersdant the bidding process and it will remain to be seen what will happen with the people investing their money. Either way it appears that quibids is making a large profit.
My daddy always said “if someone doesn’t owe you something, don’t expect them to give you something for nothing”?
“Scam” means different things to different people,
When any business has to mask things and use smoke and mirrors to sell they product then that IS a SCAM to many of us.
The Cheesy chick on TV should say that you have to PAY 60 cents per auction and that getting a good deal is seldom, NOT give the impression a bid is a penny and most people score a rare bargain.
I look at penny auctions a bit like cyber gaming halls, they in my opinion have found a way to skirt gambling laws, more power to them, but to keep it fair the public needs to know that in these cases you do not get the great deal or big jackpot…the house gets your cash and you got the fun of lossing your cash,
My reason for this post? I hope I will keep even one person from lossing money to these outfits, and I’m way tried of seeing the TV AD all the time.
I got taken over the Quibid thing. What a rip-off. Wish I had researched before I signed up. Wasn’t aware of penny auctions. Learned an expensive lesson losing $ 60.00 on bids that I didn’t realize were .60 cents each time I bid. The so-called auctions never seemed to end. A total waste of time and expense. Stay clear of any of these penny auction sites. Stick with Ebay or legit “auctions” where you don’t lose money bidding and the winning bidder wins fair and square.
Ok…first things first. Quibids has a decent model and I did pull in sme great products at low prices, but I did start noticing some things they do and have started doing that made me complain to them. Some are pretty blatant and it made me wonder what they are doing we cannot see.
1. I had been using for a few months off and on and I started noticing that every time I went to site, and wasn’t signed in, that I would see items closing with zero bids. One time I thought I was logged on and clicked one bid before it expired, but it prompted me to log in. When I logged on I went to recently completed auctions and could not find the zero bid auctions anywhere. After that I started seeing big ticket items going cheap before I logged on and I couldn’t find them either after logging in. I believe this is called bait and switch.
2. They just started this new multi auction crap that has you bidding on multiple items instead of the one you want. This means I am bidding against multiple people for multiple products, all with different motivations for spending bids. It’s hard enough to go into a one item auction and win it, but now I have to waste bids against people chasing a different product. That’s what I meant by a different motivation…. They have a cool format and they make a ton of money, but now they are already starting to get greedy. This is the worst idea I’ve ever seen for people looking for specific products to bid on.
3. I was using the multi bid function and my daughter hit the home page key while I was on auto bid feature. I immediately hit the back button, but I got a blank screen. I then went back to home page to find the product I was bidding on, but it was not showing. What was showing was one of the other similar priced products that was rotating. This means I had to guess and click on each product I thought was similarly priced until I found my original product. Needless to say I lost in that time frame. 100 bids gone and it somehow sold within 10 bids of when my daughter hit the back button. Worst idea ever to blend multiple products in a single auction. I sent them an idea that would allow you the option of choosing from several same priced items after you already won, but got nothing.
I started to think that if they are doing sketchy things on the front end, what are they doing on the back end? I went to the Oklahoma chamber of commerce, where they are located, and they have well over a thousand complaints after only a few years in biz.
i have a problem with Quibids, more of something I noticed than anything. I am new to this as I let my grandson talk me into checking it out. I have only bid a few times. Most of my time is spent looking around. I have noticed, that when I bid, the names of the others I am bidding against. once i see I’m not going to get something I’m bidding on, i stop and usually go to another section totally and look around. There is one name in particular, that no matter which section I go to, there is this same person bidding. there is NO way someone can always be in the exact location I am. I don’t stick with just one type of product. I’m all over the place from tools, to personal items, to bedding. No matter where I go, this one bidder is there as soon as I place a bid. Really makes me wonder if there is some way they have a shadow on you to bid against you. might wanna watch closely as you’re bidding and moving through the site
I am glad I read some of these so called scams before I jumped into this.
I sometimes deal with At Auction and never have a problem
Its funny how easily people will openly put their personal information out on the internet. Research is imperative to find a successful auction site. The crazy thing I see repeatedly here is consumers jumping into something just because you got an email saying to check this out. I truly wonder how many viruses are on their computers for being so ignorant. Penny auctions make a ton of money, yes. Gambling, no. Every legitimate site has videos and directions on how the site works and how to bid. I am an affiliate for an auction site and the only way to become a customer is to be approved by an affiliate to have the opportunity to participate. I don’t want ignorant people coming to my site. Nobody likes to get taken advantage of. But if you enter a casino because you need to win you are already a loser. Think about what your doing before you do it. If you need to save money on a product then do not go to an auction site. If you want to partake in the excitement of having a chance to win an auction and can afford it, then go and have fun. If not, then stay off our sites. You getting in over your head with something you know nothing about, is your own ignorance. Learn before you get burned by your own stupidity.
I’d bang that chick om the quibids commercial so hard she wouldn’t walk for a week
Robbed by Qui! I received this email from qui after I inquired why they temporarily disabled my account and whybdid they need a copy of my drivers liscense and more… they did not refund ‘real bids’ , ie., my money spent and the product I spent it on. They kept both!
“Hello Jean,
Thank you for your email. We do apologize the only way we can open your account is with scans or digital pictures of the required documentation. Without these we have no choice but to disable your account permanently and refund all recent transactions. Although we cannot refund used real bids as they help determine the final outcome of each auction. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns you may have. Thank you and have a great day.
Sincerely,
QuiBids Compliance Department”
Any online outfit that asks for your credit card information, including the CV #, is a company you want to avoid. That’s why I did not join them for a test run. If it was an ethical company, then it would not be so fervent about capturing your credit card info, which anyone in their company could steal and leave the card holder with thousands of dollars of fraudulent purchases.
If it sounds too good to be true, folks, it certainly is.
Ummm Yeah – any topic that has this many people complaining about SCAMS – ummm yeah if you sign up for Quibids I go some land in Montana I’d like to sell you.
Let’s get one thing straight – QUIBIDS IS A SCAM. End of story
Been a member of QBIDS for over a year and never had a problem. I have won several items. A couple of them for under a dollar. One item that sells for $279 I got for 8 bids ($2.40)+ shipping. If you do some research before you buy an item to determine if the QBIDS “Buy it Now” price is reasonable, and you go into the auction ready to pay that retail price then you cant loose. You may even win the auction and get the item for much less than retail. When the item hits the retail price then hit the buy it now button and you own it. DON’T be goofy and bid past the buy it now price! If you do that then you shouldn’t be suprised that you paid to much and that’s not QBIDS fault.
Scam. It’s a no brainer. Go on the website and see all the timers clicking down and the bids going up…Now unplug the computer from the internet.. the bids still keep going up and the timers still keep working, How does that figure,?
I tried this website, and they have my credit card
After reading your article [particularly you’re comments] I must agree, I have been thoroughly studying quibids for a month now [as off work for extended period due to health issue] & I mean studying, have 4 P.C’s running, although yet to collate results to confirm my opinion, I feel the biggest concern is the gambling/addiction issue & what I would term the professional buyer [cashed up big time], I feel certainly the latter are enlisting help???? [to be nice] now this can come in a couple of forms I can think of, firstly some form of collusion, set up a network working/bidding to a beneficial system & secondly software programs that provide unbelievable information about everything going on in the auction that the unknowing don’t have access to, so are literally flying blind, some of the full timers [not silly nor addicted just have lots of time on thier hands [some must be insomniacs, as I am, as never seeem not to be paticipating, BEWARE these software programs are only of real use to those who have 60 to 80 hours a week to put into it, just like full time jo, so unless thats you forget it. Either way both categories dominate the site & winning when come up against one of them [ & believe me there are plenty of them] is almost impossible, so often Ive seen wiinners whose biids real & voucher combinations that add up to $100’s of dollars more than the product value, [they kid themselves that voucher bids cost them nothing, think about it they are not free, you paid $ for them, As both types dominate the site [bidding on 2 & 3 auctions at the same time] really winning/saving is a bit like winning on poker machines & lotteries!!!!!! After I have finished my little study & find I am wrong, as unlikely as it is I shall post another comment! Otherwise BEWARE!!!
I’ve been a user at Quibids.com in the past. I spent years and over $10,000 there and do not have anything to show for it. It really truly is a scam in the sense that it’s like playing the lottery. Thousands of people lose and only one wins. I pretty much guarantee that you will NOT be the winner.
However, I did master their game called Word Scramble. But even with the extra bids I won in that game, it was still not enough to come out ahead in the end.
wordscramblethegame.com
Quibids is NOT worth it. You will end up losing more money than you get back I promise. I tried it for 3 years.
Yes this is a scam…RIPOFF
They take your $60 and you don’t win anything.
Then you need to spend some more to think you got something like buy it now which you pay much more than the retail price. Isn’t this a rip off or what?
and no refund????? you don’t even now that your bidding cost you $0.60 until you find out they took $60 from your bank account and you don’t have any bids anymore neither you 60 bucks. Ok…. they got me once….. and that’s it…. I am out you SOBs. I hope you use it in meds.
Scam, scam, scam, these guts are smart, sure you can win a bid for a $400 laptop for $12, however, be prepared to spend $200 in bidding credits that cost $ .60 every time you click to keep the other from winning the bid, and add 10 seconds to the timer to keep all the other people from winning the bid. They control the bidding by only allowing the price to increase $.02 each time you click. Not a scam huh? Give me a break.
Even though this is an AFFILIATE WEBSITE, Im glad I ran into it… Reading through these hundreds of testimonials was enough for me to STEER CLEAR of QUIBDS!
within 30 mins they took 60 dollars from me. dont buy from them they are over charging you. theses people never give you your money back. i have been to auctions before if you dont win you dont lose your money this is stupid. QUIbids are a scam and you are just wasting your money and time. I should have look this up. I am mad as hell at them 60 dollars is a lot to just give to somebody for doing absolutly nothing.
SCAM SCAM SCAM
Qui-Bids is a scam. You are bidding against a computer program that is programmed to keep the bidding going until you lose all your bids. You will not win anything. Do what you want. I am telling you the truth. Qui-Bids will lie to you. Do not fall for this scam. Again, I am relaying FACTS. BEWARE OF THE LIES QUI-BIDS IS TELLING YOU.
The poster claiming she works for Qui-Bids. All lies. QUI BIDS IS A SCAM.
