The best way to get rid of fossil fuels
In 2014 with the world the way it is the best way to get rid of fossil fuels is first not to scare people about fossil fuels. Secondly those of us with the basic understanding; need to find a way to simplify things for the average consumer who doesn’t understand what powers our economy and what gives us electricity or electric power.
Here’s the problem to start most people don’t understand the difference between DC(direct current) and AC(alternating current) and when the average person hears about oil what they think about first is the gas pumps and the price it costs them to power their cars and when the average person hears the word “fossil fuels” the first thing they think of is oil which also coincides with automobiles. What a lot of people don’t understand is that worst than oil, coal is the major contributor to our poor air quality and most people don’t understand is that coal, oil and nuclear power are the energy sources that give us ELECTRICITY!
If we can get this basic information into the consciousness of everybody the best step to take at this point would be to push wind and solar energy which to date are the most stable forms of renewable energy. Now I’m a huge supporter of cold fusion research however at the date of this publication there is to the best of my knowledge no commercial technology that can satisfy all of mans energy needs with cold fusion.
Now when it comes to promoting wind and solar technology it’s imperative not to threaten oil, coal and nuclear companies. The mistake I often hear from people promoting wind and solar is they try to play the “guilt trip card” on middle class families. That in my opinion is not the way to get wind and solar into the consciousness of everyday people. The strategies I recommend are first the monetary benefits and secondly providing education on how ENERGY and ELECTRICITY work in the simplest forms possible.
Pictures lots of pictures and less words will help the average person understand how wind and solar works and also how they can help people save money and humanity. As funny as this may sound the problem facing renewable energies is there hasn’t been any disasters or distractions with our electricity. I’m not wishing for this to happen but most people don’t care to think about wind, solar or renewable energies because when they flick the switch the lights go on and people have their lives to live and hey lets be honest here right if it ain’t broke don’t fix it right? Right? Wrong just like how oil, coal and nuclear energy was SOLD to the people it’s our responsibility to sell renewable energies to people and being that we have a perpetual bad economy there are several different strategies that those of us awake can do to awaken the consciousness of people.
Again I don’t recommend BASHING oil, coal or nuclear energy of-course we know these energies are killing us however most of us myself included have enjoyed the benefits of fossil fuels in one way shape or form so we must be and must remember to put ourselves in the shoes of other individuals. If less than 0.02% of America was covered in solar panels America would have enough electricity to power itself however that’s not how you’d want to sell it to an average consumer. What you’d want to say is energy prices would drop if 0.02% of America was covered in solar panels which could elicit a response.
In regards to oil you don’t want to scare people because remember oil does a lot more than power our electricity when it comes to coal I think this is the one that wind and solar can be more aggressive with competing against; because coal really is replaceable, coal is the major contributor to our poor air quality and although it’s in abundant supply it’s killing our oceans and our water and our fish. If I were making a comparison that would be the fuel I would be fighting to eliminate coal is the best one to explain the benefits versus the liabilities.
In regards to nuclear energy, nobody likes to hear the word nuclear so it’s pretty easy to get nuclear energy out of peoples consciousness my plan however first would be to ATTACK coal energy. It’s easy to explain how coal energy works and how wind and solar are clean energy alternatives to it. I wouldn’t call coal energy bad I would just make it sound ancient and unnecessary in 2014 and going forward.
As many of you know Germany is doing a great job with renewable energies but the fossil fuel companies are fighting back, however what they can’t fight back against is the amount of jobs there are in the renewable energy field. Germany has built an economy in renewable energies and it’s time the rest of the world catch up. The best way for the rest of the world to catch up is to raise our consciousness level about energy and electricity and we MUST do this in a way that speaks to the average person who normally wouldn’t care. Telling people about renewable energy using FEAR tactics won’t work we must break it down for people in the simplest way in the shortest amount of time possible and also explain and educate people about the FINANCIAL BENEFITS regarding renewable energies now and moving forward.
The time for change in how we consume energy is now! If you’re reading this please understand that man has the knowledge to get rid of fossil fuels but man won’t stray from what’s working unless we the safe renewable energy pushers break down the benefits to wind and solar and from wind and solar I’m almost positive that energies like Cold Fusion and others renewables will eventually emerge as the world will be abundant with electricity which will fuel competition in technology and other innovations.
