Saving Star is a new website that creates a different approach to coupon grocery shopping. It’s the digital age version where consumers can still enjoy the savings from coupons minus the bulk and hassle of printing out and carrying around the paper coupons.
Registration is needed in order to get started. Signing up is totally free of charge and can be accomplished within just a few minutes.
How Saving Star Works
Right after creating a profile in Saving Star, you can then register your grocery and retail store loyalty cards. Registration of these cards is needed as your chosen eCoupons will be loaded digitally unto these cards.
Once you have registered your loyalty card and have chosen coupon offers, you’re now ready to shop. It’s important to note that using your loyalty card with the eCoupons in it will not change the total at checkout and savings will not be printed on the receipt. What Saving Star does is accumulate all your savings in your account within 2-30 days. Once you’ve reached $5 savings in your Saving Star account, you can then choose from the following options to cash out: direct deposit into your bank account, PayPal, Amazon gift card or charity donation.

I had 6 dollars in my savings star account, I ordered a 6.00 amazon card, never recieved ANYTHING.. emailed them several times no response. I say its a scam!
I have received 6 payouts from SavingStar so far. I request Amazon gift cards, and I think the longest it took to receive it in my email was several hours. Most come within the hour. (The site says payout in 2-3 days, so I was happily surprised)
Lisa – Did you check your spam folder? The payout email comes from savings (at) savingstar (dot) com with the subject line “Here is your gift card for your SavingStar payout!”
I too have bought several items listed on Savingstar’s site that were well within the time limits, and had saved several shopping cards at their site. I was NEVER credited for any of those items.
In my opinion, they are gathering information about people’s spending habits and selling that infomation to vendors. That would be ok with me as long as the information they provide to vendors does not include names and addresses of us suckers who register with them (I hope they are not giving our specific information to vendors). AND, more importantly, if they actually would credit my account with the coupons I use.
I want to cancel my registration with SavingStar, but there is no place on their site, that I can find, where I can do that. I’ve written to them telling them to cancel my account and to let me know when they do so. I’m sure that they will be really helpful because they been so good about crediting my account (sarcasm).
Don’t waste your time with this site.
I have had the experience that certain stores credit better than others. Shaw’s and cvs work for me. I hope that helps. I have always have received my payments.
I have received to pay outs from Savings Star. I choose direct deposit into an account I use just for savings. I don’t use a lot of the stuff they have coupons on, but the Freebie Friday stuff is usually a great deal. Love it !
I’ve been with savingstar for about two years now. And in this time frame I’ve gotten back over $31. It’s not more than this because I am on a set income and cannot always buy what they are offering, even with the coupons. Always, it’s a great site to check out.
