TD Secured Credit Card

If you are living in Canada and currently have bad credit i can honestly say that TD Canada trust is probably one of the better banks. From mortgages to loans to lines of credit and also credit cards TD bank in Canada seems to me to be the best bank to deal with.

Personally i am most impressed with their telephone banking only royal bank comes close to TD banks telephone banking. I get get to customer service within a minute using TD Banks Telephones banking and this can be any and all hours of the day or night.

TD Bank Secured Credit Card Who Qualifies

The main reason for this post is to help people in Canada understand and know where to go to get a secure credit card in Canada. secured Credit Cards given out by the banks in Canada are generally for immigrants and people who are new to credit like students or young adults. Major banks usually do not give secured credit cards to people with bad credit or people that have filed or declared some sort of bankruptcy.

You might get lucky at TD i don’t work there i don’t know but from i was told if you have bad credit or declared bankruptcy in Canada you will not qualify for the TD Secured Credit Card.

Not To Worry Secured Credit Card Alternatives.

If you want a secured credit card and you have bad credit history or you’ve declared bankruptcy you have two options that I know of. One being Capital One master card the second on being Home Trust Visa Card. The better one in my opinion is Captial One but don’t get all happy yet.

Capital One reports and they report in detail if you go over secured credit card limit with capital one it will be reported and documented so make it a habit of only using a maximum of 75% of your deposit. This way when it’s time to get your unsecured credit card you won’t have anything hovering over your credit history.

Also secured capital one credit cards have annual fees and they will charge you i believe $30 if you go over your credit limit. The minimum deposit i believe is $300 CAD it maybe higher or lower depending on which part of Canada you reside in. For all other fees ask Capital One yourself.

The Home trust Visa card. I think Home trust is a mortgage company i am not exactly sure but the Home trust visa card has a $1000 minimum deposit and also carries high interest fees you can check out Home trust for yourself and find out the details. This might be a better option for home owners rebuilding credit.

The good thing about both of these credit cards is that 99% of the people qualify i think the only way you wouldn’t qualify is if you just declared bankruptcy and haven’t been discharged. if that’s you just be patient. Also only sign up when you have the minimum deposit amount. For capital one make sure you have at least $300 put aside and with Home trust visa make sure you have $1000 put aside also be sure to read the contract before signing up remember that capital one has an annual fee i am not sure about home trust so make sure you read the contract.
