Western Canadian Unity, Why a Landlocked Separatist Alberta can broker great deals for Western Canada – November 24, 2019,
The history of Socialism without a gold standard hasn’t been a good one. If people are ever curious to know why the Gold Standard or gold-backed monetary system has failed everywhere it’s been tried, it’s because collectively, people wnt now, what they will pay for later. Free markets, freedom, open trade, open bartering, Austrian economics, individualism this type of thinking has existed for centuries in various formats, modern-day technologically and innovations have proven to be a friend to Individualism and Capitalism while being the worst enemy to all forms of collectivism.
Innovation and collectivism don’t work well together, because innovations will disrupt practiced orthodoxies, protectionism as an example has never been a friend to the innovationists because innovations can change entire narratives. A few years ago an APP called Uber disrupted the Taxi orthodoxy in Toronto as well as many places in the world. Government regulations were created by the protectionist for their job security in the name of protecting the public.
Well, although Uber and APPs like Uber aren’t perfect, they’ve become a major disruptor to the point that some governments who are supposedly Pro-Climate change have regulated “ride-sharing”😂. The same is true with the Albertan oil, innovation after innovation has been made to make extracting oil clean, and many Canadian oil companies have invested in alternative energy sources, however, the collectivists amongst us, don’t like how long this process is taking and are instead trying to use the force of Government to destroy an industry that’s a leader in clean energy innovations?
Now, while the government is doing whatever it can to serve what we investors know is a last-ditch effort by the foreign Oil Cartels to save themselves from losing their oil monopolies, what can we really say that will change the mind of a bleeding heart collectivist who in reality have way more time on their hands to not only lobby government but also march and protest every chance they get. Most people that like to work hard, don’t like to complain. Leftists love to observe and complain about what’s wrong with the world and they love to be the Vocal leaders of change, however actually implementing the change they seek, well this proven difficult for them.
Because whether you’d like to admit it or not, operating a business is hard work, if running a successful business was easy, everyone would do it. Now, you might not know this but this blog has been here since 2009 I think, maybe it was 2007, I’m not sure. I’ll have to check, but you might notice there’s minimal advertising, no pop-ups, etc. The key to running a business is keeping costs DOWN!
This is something you have to be in business to understand, it’s also best if you’re not the Bill Morneau type of business person in that your wealth was inherited, because in the event you’re this type of business person, it will be harder for you to understand the small and medium-sized business person who has to add value typically by increasing his/her labour. For every action by the government, there’s a reaction from the Private Sector, pleasing customers and making payroll is what the private sector is all about.
The government operates in a model that is similar, however, the modern-day government no longer has to adhere to a Gold-Standard which allows it via a central bank to deficit spend and also have money printed to meet its needs. Now, even under a fiat monetary system, this method of money has its limits and these limits occur primarily because eventually, people have to retire from working and in a litigious society where liabilities exist and humans who work can be held financially and physically responsible for people who don’t some sort of happy medium has to exist.
Eastern Canada, namely Eastern Canadian public sectors, has been insolvent in many instances and it’s been Western Canada paying the bills, well presently there appears to be a bit of a push back occurring namely from Alberta and although Alberta is landlocked it does have friends. Alberta on the southern side is bordered with the U.S State of Montana however if you read the article below, the U.S State of Minnesota which borders with Ontario and Manitoba is written about. This has always been my view as it relates to Alberta being supposedly landlocked.
In other news, In B.C.’s interior, some businesses vow to leave downtown amid housing, addiction crisis B.C is like Canada’s version of California, there’s a lot of love in B.C, a lot of hippie types and hippie sympathizers, I’m personally not sure what their breaking point is, but I’d assume it’s on its way. The NDP and the Liberals governing over you, sounds depressing, honestly, if Ontario votes in another Liberal over Doug Ford, I really will be considering moving, because in case people aren’t realizing Canada is reaching a breaking point. I was even reading about added regulations to

I was even reading about Canada’s new air passenger regulations and it’s strange that Canadians don’t understand that this is actually going to make air travel prices higher, but hey, who cares about higher prices when the government is merely meeting the demands of the financially illiterate public. Because a large number of Canadians are financially illiterate, it’s going to be hard for many people to comprehend Alberta and what could be Western Canada distancing themselves from Eastern Canada. Meanwhile, in Quebec, there’s yet another separatist political party emerging and yes you guessed it they’re anti-capitalists and Marxists too!

I yawn, primarily because, Austerity measures aren’t part of the political orthodoxy in Quebec and being that Quebec leads the nation in regards to protectionism, I would feel sorry for the people of Quebec if they separated. If they separated, Quebec would be wise to do so when the U.S has an irresponsible Democrat president, who may see French culture as a good thing, what Quebec wouldn’t want to happen is for them to leave, the Canadian dollar strengthening and the U.S not even interested in making them a territory, because this would lead to economic disaster.
In Alberta recently Jason Kenney has been engaging in austerity measures, Alberta’s public sector is making less money because of the Trudeau government, and Kenney is doing what’s responsible, now this austerity culture doesn’t even exist in Quebec, Maxime Bernier assumed he would win easily in Beauce, WRONG, the Conservative Party of Canada knew better, supply management has a lot of support in Quebec and they made sure they sent Maxime Bernier and his Free market economy a very clear message.
Not in Quebec, Quebec revolves around protectionism and as an independent nation, we all know this equates to an economic disaster. However, Canada as a nation has allowed Quebec politicians to speak for us, I have a lot of friends from other countries who assume that all Canadians speak 2 languages, because whenever a Canadian politician comes to their country, the Canadian politician speaks English and french. This privilege Quebecers have enjoyed along with subtle differences between the English and French languages have in a way given many French Canadians inflated egos that might get challenged in the event they become an independent nation.
This bodes well for Western Canada in regards to getting a better deal as part of the Canadian Federation. I’m not entirely sure if Western Canada sees this yet, because although Western Canada has had more responsible governance than has Eastern Canada, it’s not to say all Western Canadians understand the leverage they have. Financial education is omitted from school because if people knew how inept most politicians were and how unnecessarily expensive the public sector is in Canada, well, certain ideas might be challenged in a manner similar to Switzerland.
If you’re a socialist politician in Switzerland, not a problem, just make sure you don’t run a deficit or you go to jail! If you ever wonder why Libertarians and other Conservaitertives work to find a happy medium with the Leftists, it’s because under a well-managed government all concepts can be put to the test, in Canada via deficit spending and a central bank who is picking debtors as the winners Leftism isn’t being challenged as it should be.
Because in my opinion Justin Trudeau economically is even worse than his father, the lasting disasters to the Canadian economy this man will leave will be felt everywhere, I see the inevitable recession coming to Canada in a devastating way, but you see recessions hurt those most who don’t know what policies caused them. Western Canada is on the winning side of a bad deal although it would be wise for them to fight to get equal representation in the Federation, I’m not sure what they want, all I know is that there already exists Western Unity, will it grow? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see!
Interesting times ahead!
