Now the video I point to below, titled Expert blasts Ontario’s long-term care homes, blames a lack of funding and public interest omits that this supposed expert is nothing more than a CEO of Seniors’ Advocacy Organization, one would assume that if she was an expert she’d be running her own successful nursing home.
A quick reminder there’s nothing natural about sending mom and dad, grampa and grampa to a nursing home, this is a novel concept primarily because the government has so many regulations on the economy. taking care of the elderly is a very expensive task and it’s not like every single nursing home is run efficiently.
One of the reasons most nursing homes all over the world are run inefficiently is because the governments, often stick their noses where they don’t belong which ultimately raises the cost to run the nursing homes while at the time creating a barrier to entry for new more efficiently run nursing homes to exists!
If this nursing home was so bad, why were people there in the first place? Oh, oh I can answer that question, because there were no other options because the municipal, provincial, and federal governments made running a nursing home ridiculously expensive. There’s this myth that socialists have in their brains that assume that there are no negative side effects to socialism.
Sure the market isn’t perfect, but socialism makes situations even worse, because under socialism innovation can be a crime! regulations make doing sometimes efficient things crimes. If there’s an infestation of any kind there are costs to fix that problem and if the tenants are all on fixed incomes and the government doesn’t want to pay anything extra, because Justin Trudeau has reserved money for SNC Lavalin and a mainstream media bailout, well, this is how these problems worsen.
Now, if we had a market economy, and no minimum wage and no CMHC artificially raising housing costs, a lot of people on Welfare would be doing the jobs that most people don’t want to do. Almost all of the problems you or watch bout regarding these nursing homes were caused because of people like Laura Tamblyn Watts who make things more expensive.
It’s easy to be an advocate and make your living complaining about everything that’s wrong, an opinion I’d like to hear from is a person who runs a successful nursing home, but why they won’t call a person who runs a successful nursing home an “expert” is because successful nursing homes typically charge higher prices!
That’s a debate they want to stay away from because, ost seniors living in these nursing homes have little to no money and if a nursing home is renovated, you have to remember that the people living in that nursing home would have to be relocated somewhere, right?
There are a lot of costs that go into taking care of people that are conveniently ignored b mainstream media, because if you get into the top of the economics of running a nursing home, you start to see that real problem, the root cause of the problem with nursing homes stem from the Government and their Regulations!
Lastly, it has nothing to do with funding, it ha to do with costs, Laura Tamblyn Watts and advocacy groups like hers are one of the main entities that cause productive people to be unproductive. I can’t cut costs if the government tells me it’s illegal to do so and a reminder that the government has no money without productive people! Every regulation by the government makes people less productive!
