In this debate Scheer questions Trudeau for delaying Canada’s retaliatory measures to U.S. steel tariffs and Trudeau responds the way I would respond which is he’s playing the waiting game. Currently, Canada is not in a negotiating position.
I get it, I understand that as Canadians we feel entitled to having our cake and eating it too but when I listen to Scheer’s position regarding implementing immediate tit-for-tat tariffs on the U.S it’s an indication to me that Scheer is either playing politics or his party isn’t really conservative at all. As many of you know I’m right leaning, I believe in individual liberties, I’m not a fan of Unions and the fact that Scheer is siding with Unions is troubling. Canada needs a wake-up call. Our Conservatives sound like Liberals, it’s almost like they’ve lost their way. What Scheer should have done is asked the Prime minister
“What retaliatory measures to the U.S will your party against the U.S Tariffs, because Canadians want to know”
Ask the question, hold the prime minister accountable and sit down. If Trudeau’s pushback is what would the conservative leader do, Scheer could easily respond “change the Prime minister” Instead, Scheer takes a left-leaning position which is always to look externally and not internally. The Conservative party needs to stop taking stances when they don’t have too. Anyway based on my research Canada is heading for some serious economics headwinds if the right actions aren’t taken soon.
Interesting times ahead.
