Canadian Conservatives Love Their Welfare State, Milton Friedman Told a truth most Canadians fail to comprehend – The Welfare State ATTRACTS mass immigration, Let’s Talk About The Pierre Poilievre Housing Strategy – December 17, 2023
If I’m just being honest, I’m not the biggest fan of Canadian media as a WHOLE. Of course, I prefer Conservative media, however it’s difficult for someone like myself to consume conservative Canadian news, as most in Canadian media, cater to what they know their audience wants to hear, which is fine, it’s a market economy, and if the majority want to hear a particular narrative, give it to them, but I don’t see why talking about the Welfare State is so difficult?
As a supporter of the People’s Party of Canada(PPC), my issue has been the focus on immigration when the focus should be on DISMANTLING the welfare state. However, I get the reason why a POLITICIAN would try to attract people to the Party using a popular topic such as immigration.
But MEDIA is supposed to be different; if you’re just going to promote popular opinions, you’re limiting the VALUE, meaning that you’re limiting the GROWTH of your platform.
It’s common knowledge that Maxime Bernier left the Conservative Party of Canada because they were not CONSERVATIVE enough for him, but at the very least, part of the Maxime Bernier platform was based on AUSTERITY measures, shrinking the size of government, getting the word out there.
The modern Conservative Party has ZERO interest in slicing government, it merely wants to restructure it; Pierre Poilievre still believes that man-made climate change is real, meaning that if he’s Prime Minister, he is going to still attack Alberta and Saskatchewan, maybe just not as aggressively as Trudeau, and one thing we know for sure will happen when Pierre Poilievre is Prime Minister are staged protests and lobby groups attempting to keep Trudeau’s destruction of Canada’s economy a permanent fixture indefinitely.
What’s often confused about Milton Friedman is how he would structure his arguments, which would often be based on the HIS present-day reality and not based on what he would do if he were to rule as a dictator.
But for folks like me, I always apply the Milton Friedman standard, when we’re talking about immigration, which is a standard most Canadian Conservatives fail to comprehend, which is why a lot of Canadian Conservatives, when I listen to them, sound like FASCISTS, now, for the record I do include Liberals and Leftists in the fascist category, even more so than Conservatives, however listening to English speaking Conservative talking heads, sound like the average Quebecer annoys the heck out of me.
This is the reason I’m making this post; Canada, first and foremost, is NOT Singapore. Canada has an abundance of land, and in actuality, Canada, RIGHT NOW, has enough housing to house every single Canadian with space to spare; the actual housing problems in Canada have NOTHING to do with immigration and everything to do with the CURRENT LAWS, namely municipal rules and regulations in most cities and towns all over Canada.
Almost every Canadian small town and large city has CALIFORNIA STYLE FAR LEFT housing policies, which have been ENFORCED for DECADES now and are only catching up with Canadians now because of Trudeau’s hyperinflationary ESG federal governance.
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) IS expensive to enforce. I don’t care if you love ESG and you think the world is going to end; I don’t care about your narratives or your belief systems; ESG, in practice, is expensive, and the SOCIAL governance aspect of ESG revolves around PRICE controls for labor.
In the last couple of years, we’ve seen labor unions on strike, demanding higher pay to justify the higher costs for everything, these WAGE/price controls equate to PERMEMENT higher prices for labor, and in case you’re a moron, it takes LABOR to build and maintain your house.
ESG revolves around phasing out fossil fuels now I don’t care if you believe this should happen or will happen; the reality is that fossil fuels have ALWAYS been known as CHEAP ENERGY, and the supposed alternatives to fossil fuels (Which I don’t see any at the moment) are very expensive, so you have a combination of more expensive labor and more expensive energy coming into the Canadian markets at the same time, combining with FAR LEFT housing policies that have been on the books for DECADES.
Conservatives in Canada like to poke fun at New York and California when even in Canada’s most Conservative provinces and cities, their housing policies are almost the exact same. Alberta is Canada’s most Conservative province, but Alberta’s minimum wage are almost the same price as Quebec’s.
Canadian Equalization Payment Numbers in 2023
- Quebec: $14 billion
- Manitoba: $3.5 billion
- Nova Scotia: $2.8 billion
- New Brunswick: $2.6 billion
- Prince Edward Island: $561 million
- Ontario: $421 million
To even bring such a topic up to your average Albertan Conservative might lead to a serious argument; why? Because a lot of Canadians LOVE their welfare State, all I’m saying is if you love welfare State, stop pretending that the housing problem is mass immigration and acknowledge the fact that Canada has a lot of HORRIBLE laws around housing.
I don’t see why the media can’t say that. It boggles my mind that this is not something controversial; what I’m getting at here is if mass immigration stops, there will be a LABOR shortage in Canada; why? For example, a lot of Canadians REFUSE to work for anything less than or NEAR the minimum wage because they’re SOCIALISTS.
Socialists don’t believe in a MARKET economy, which is why when migrants come to Western countries, they’re often confused as to how INEFFICIENT things are regarding labor; a new migrant will likely say to themselves upon arrival, I’ll give you my labor for 25% of what Canadians are charging, and a Canadian will say to themselves “This madness must stop” why? Because they’re SOCIALISTS, in America, up until recently, illegal immigration was welcomed by a lot of WHITE Americans because the average naturalized American citizen refused to do any job that required intense labor because they have a WELFARE state.

This is common knowledge in America, and it’s why there are over 2 million LIBERTARIANS in the United States and like-minded people because a lot of this stuff should be COMMON SENSE; this is not a complicated issue that requires intense debate. LAWS create outcomes, and if your government creates all sorts of laws that benefit the population behaving in a particular way, well then that’s the outcome you’re going to get.
I’m waiting for the Canadian consciousness to evolve, and at the very least, Canadian media should be assisting in this process.
