Doug Ford: “I always say socialism does not work, Raising taxes does not work” – February 8, 2020,
So, Doug Ford was cheerleading the Ontario economy during the question and answer session with Maryscott Greenwood, the CEO of the Canadian American Business Council during a conference for American governors. With all the positives that came out of the session, the only portion that made the news for the Canadian mainstream media was what Doug Ford said about Bernie Sanders.
When asked about Bernie Sanders and socialism, Premier Doug Ford replied, “That’s actually scary.”
Now, personally I find Bernie Sanders scary for the poor because he’s giving people false hopes and making it appear to his supporters that he “Bernie Sanders” can force everyone in America to yield to his government edicts. Bernie has yet to explain to his supporters that inflation is a thing if Bernie Sanders wants a $15 FEDERAL minimum wage and also wants to give Labour Unions which are special interest groups more power there are consequences to these things and this consequences will have a devastating effect on the poor.

Now, one of the reasons populism has been rising globally is because Politicians lie and when they’re not lying, the politician is usually ignorant to the economic realities of human behavior.
In actuality, if you’re young, the last thing you want is Socialism, socialism benefits old people like me who need young people to wipe my ass and bathe when I’m old for free. If I’m old and never saved for retirement and also neglected to take care of my health, nothing would make me happier than to have young people pay higher income and regressive taxes to finance my retirement. Now, of course, when Bernie explains the story to his ignorant populist it sounds similar to when Jagmeet Singh of the NDP was promising Universal dental care.
It’s a right, people have a right to $15 an hour, unions have a right to take over a private business, the government has a right to intervene in the market and overly-regulate any industry that’s making a profit. If had half a brain, you’d know that the majority of Doug Fords’ interview on the Canadian American Business Council was an inditement on ideals Bernie Sanders holds dear.
Bernie Sanders is anti-freedom, even if you believe in minimum wages understand that it’s the use of government force. Wage and price controls is government force when a person applies to work for a private company, the employers aren’t forcing the employee to work for them, the employee works for a private company because the employee either doesn’t want to start a business or finds that it’s too expensive to start a business.
Now, public schools have existed in Canada for years, but self-employment or graduates being self-employed isn’t something public schools focus on, because it would lead to competition, imagine public schools taught children about entrepreneurship from an early age, what would happen? What would happen is those public school teachers jobs would be at risk, Leftism as a whole would be at risk because students would soon realize that it’s the Government regulations which are not only forcing the cost of living up, but also raising the barrier to economic entry.

When asked about Mr. Sanders and socialism, Mr. Ford replied, “That’s actually scary.”
There’s nothing noble about Bernie Sanders, it’s actually scary that a large portion of Americans subscribes to a Government take over of the economy, during a period of relative peace. That’s really, scary. But the truth is if you’re pro-free-market, pro-free enterprise, pro-capitalism, you’re anti-Bernie Sanders.
In Canada, the NDP is accepted primarily because as Canadians, we’re extremely lucky to be bordered with the United States. In Canad we basically don’t have to defend our borders, do you know how many countries wish they didn’t have to defend their border, this luxury we have as Canadians have allowed flawed ideas like socialism to survive in the public consciousness.
Now, if Canadians actually had to pay for socialism in the manner other countries have to pay for socialism, I guarantee you, that the Canadian public would view socialism and protectionism differently, in Canada we’ve been blessed with the ability to manipulate our currency to pay for our bloated public sector.
Now, in the past, we a Canadians were able to manage this debt, but it appears things are changing under Justin Trudeau where Federal spending hits record high, while at the same time the public debt is at record highs and… Corporate debts are at record highs.

The spending increase comes as the Trudeau government continues to expand various social programs through increased childcare benefits and higher pension plan contributions, among other things
I get it, most Canadians want to believe Canada and America are in the same position, unfortunately, that’s not the case, Canada’s WORKING poor are going to have some serious challenges ahead if the size of government isn’t shrunk in the near future.

We’ve exhausted a lot of resources in Canada and we’ve created and are creating a different type of middle class, even if you listen to Doug Ford, what he says during the interview is that Ontario is becoming the Silicon Valley of the North, this is not a good thing for the poor and middle class of Ontario, because it takes a particular type of HIGLY educated person to work in the Technology sector.
I’ve been saying this for years if you go to California, the challenges facing California is that the poor and the working middle class have little to know opportunities, I believe recently, California regulated Uber out of existence because it’s important to remember, that if people have no comprehension of the free market, they’ll have a hard time comprehending that Labour unions who fight for $15 an hour or who work for Taxi companies are indeed special interest groups who collectively use the force of the government to regulate their competition out of existence.
If you can’t offer your services for less than the government minimum wage or if you’ve been regulated out of existence because the Government raised the barrier to entry, you’re effectively been prevented from participating in the workforce. One of the reasons workplace participation is up under the Trump administration is because Donald Trump cut regulations.
There are always 2 sides to a story, but if you understood both sides to the story, you’d know that Bernie Sanders is scary if people are actually taking Bernie Sanders words as gospel, it’s a scary thing, nothing Bernie Sanders is saying is new, in fact, if you’re my age, Bernie Sanders will put you to sleep because we’ve heard idiots like him destroying Africa, the middle east, Latin America, East, and South Asia, there’s nothing new or fresh about Bernie Sanders.
What is funny about Bernie Sanders to old guys like me, is that it’s almost like he never grew up. He just got old and stuck in ways. Bernie Sanders is, after all, a career politician, he’s never had to work in the private sector, which is why he assumes that raising the Federal minimum wage will jump-start the U.S economy. This is why Bernie Sanders assumes that more government regulations will make things better. Now more regulations in case you didn’t know is like having your boss at your job breathing down your neck. More regulations are like you being out with your friends as a kid and the adults are monitoring your every move, that’s what Bernie Sanders is proposing, but you see when you’re young or you’re ignorant, you’ll subscribe to the politics of the Nanny State being the new religion!
Bernie Sanders = No, No, No, You can’t do that with the Government and the special interest group unions agreeing to it!
Democratic Socialism = Mobb Rule!
Interesting times ahead!
