Ebates.com Review – Is it a scam?

Ebates.com is a rewards site that awards users up to 25% cash back on their online purchases from their 1,200 partner stores. These stores pay Ebates a commission each time you shop from them and in turn, Ebates pay you through cash back.

More about Ebates.com

Unlike other rewards sites, Ebates claim that they pay their members cash back without any points to redeem, forms to mail in, and fees to pay.

When you register at Ebates.com, you will be asked to choose between the $10 gift card from Barnes and Noble, Target, The Home Depot, or Magazines.com and the $5 gift card from Ebates. However, this will only be rewarded after earning the first $25 cash back from the website.

Using Ebates.com

In order to earn cash back from Ebates, you have to either use their site or their downloadable toolbar when getting access to their partner stores and when shopping from these stores. If Ebates doesn’t receive credit for your visits and purchases from their partner sites, you will not earn cash back.

If you refer friends and family members to Ebates, you will earn cash back from their first purchase.

Returns and exchanges, however, won’t earn you cash back as these transactions are considered as ‘brand new’ and are not credited in Ebates.

Once you earn more than $5.01, you can get your payment in check either through direct mail or deposited in your PayPal account. Payment is sent every 3 months.

Final thoughts on Ebates.com

Ebates.com seems like a great deal for a rewards site that offers 25% cash back without forms to mail in, points to redeem, and fees to pay. The gift cards from various stores make the deal extra sweet.
