The Frightfully Terrifying Ipsos Poll that States Canadians are prepared for the government to do “whatever it wants” to fight the COVID-19 pandemic – April 9, 2020,
Ipsos did a poll since I’ve been home now more than normal, I wasn’t polled however 1,006 Canadians were. Now, being perfectly honest I don’t know if the people polled were in rush, we’re incentivized to do the poll or simply were glad to take a poll about how much power the Canadian government should have during a period of crisis.
But out of the 1000+ people polled most said they were opened to having the government basically taking over their lives. When I read the article you can read below, I’m often reminded of Persians who immigrated to Canada, who told me about life in (Persian or Iran depending on who you talked too) prior to the Communist taking over.
It’s important to remember that some of the people that left Iran to move to Canada, did not live in Iran prior to the Communist taking over. Many had immigrated to Iran, when new people move into a region, they’re usually not quick to abandon their culture. In fact, in most instances when a new culture moves into the lands of an existing culture both cultures are often intertwined, without either even noticing.
In the end, the culture that dominates is the culture that works harder and smarter. Individuals make a country what it is, but historically, it’s been proven that the more collectivist nations who abandon their individual identity in pursuit of cultural marxism are often the people who end up on the wrong side of history.
If you put a bunch of weak people together, regardless of their political leanings, they’ll be weak, they might have more numbers than the minority, but they’re still weak. There’s a culture in Canada and for the record, we’re not alone on this, but there’s a culture in Canada that puts a lot of trust and faith in the Government.
As Central Banks print more and more money, and as countries like Canada become more and more reliant on imports from Communist China, the economic house of cards gets increasingly clearer. Great nations aren’t maintained by printing money or even by hoarding gold, great nations are built based on productivity, namely the production of things other people want or need.
So yeah, the reason why Canada is having any problems fighting COVID-19 is because of what we were losing and have already lost, which is our manufacturing jobs and our skilled labor. Although people imagine that fiat money or even Gold is the root cause of wealth, the reality is skilled labor creates wealth, skilled labour however currently hasn’t been educated on its great wealth until recently.
Now that that skilled labour is becoming scarce as more and more nations become more developed, the world is nearing a situation in which orthodoxies will be challenged. What Liberals and believers in Authoritarianism don’t seem to realize is that we’re closely getting to a world in which most people will not realize or comprehend.

I’ve been saying it for years and I’ll say it again, Canada looks like it’s going to be on the wrong side of history in the next few years. I think this will be healthy for us in the long run but in the short term it’s going to be very painful when it hits.
I don’t think Canadians understand that prior to COVID-19 our production levels were falling and in an era in which Canada was artificially lowering its currency, we’re now entering into an era in which America, might not only be entering into a recession but may also mimic Canada in becoming more protectionist.
Based on the Poll, Canadians are putting a lot of trust in their government. Poland is 96.7 percent white and 96% of South Koreans are Ethnic Koreans. I say this because even Quebecers and peoples of Germanic descent living in Canada are culturally different in many ways.

Although a lot of immigrants and others are opened to draconian measures, the jury’s out on how the Government of Canada may want to move forward with this. Canadians are a quiet people, polls are nice, even the initiations of laws passing might occur without anyone saying anything, but similar to a brain drain, there’s a gradual decline and then there’s a rock bottom.
If a law can’t be enforced, it’s useless, there are a lot of laws in Canada, that are laughed at or ignored (like jay walking or speeding) and let’s be honest, Canada’s judicial system wouldn’t be able to handle a massive influx of Canadians OPENLY breaking the laws.
One of the reasons I focus on economics is because I know countries like Russia, I’m familiar with what China has to do to enforce the laws, I’ve met Canadian law enforcement, they have no idea how creative humans can be if the Canadian government opts for authoritarian democracy.
I get it, some of you Canadians are soft, but don’t put people’s backs up against the wall, guns or no guns, your public funds will be drained, even China is a crisis away from bankruptcy!
Let’s get back to economics
When you hit the economic bottom, after your best and brightest have left, it’s a long road to normalcy again. Iran as an example, Syria as another example experienced a massive brain drain mainly because of bad leadership. Now, here’s the thing with smart people, smart people don’t have to settle, the highly skilled go where they want to go and do what they want to do.
Even the Chinese Communist Party has to give their smart people the liberty to leave the mainland. Being honest I don’t disagree with the findings of the IPSOS poll, but the results should frighten you, because authoritarian democracy revolves purely around the wisdom of its leadership.
When people believe or put their trust in politicians it has a devastating effect on them when the politicians they believe in are proven wrong. Even in Venezuela some of the people who can barely find food, are still sold on Maduro, it’s wasn’t his fault they convince themselves.
Bad leaders don’t always get thrown out of office right away. sometimes the people will double or triple down. When you believe in an ideology, you’re not going to simply throw it out the window because things went wrong for a few days, a few months, years or decades or even centuries, no you try it again and maybe again and again, hoping things can return to the times of old, hoping things will be the way the politician promised you
A good salesman keeps you sold, politicians are salemen and many sell their followers the illusion of security. People will often ignore the obvious signs of a person being a complete moron in pursuit of their personal ideological agenda.
I get it that when people think of Government, they imagine smart people behind the scenes pulling the right levers and pushing the right buttons, but imagine for a moment that the leader of a political party was the smartest person in his cabinet or administration
Now, behold the current Canadian Prime minister, the Canadian people voted for him twice and according to an IPSOS poll, the Canadian people are willing to give him Authoritarian powers.
Are you not frightened yet? Of course your not! Although the data in the poll is from a 1000+ people, I accept the data as factual until the Canadian people prove it otherwise.
