Do the Majority of people of Iraqi want the U.S Military to Leave Iraq? 1 million people march in Iraq or propaganda – January 28, 2020
Libertarians call them Neo-cons, I tend to ride the fence on the topic of military presence in foreign nations because I grew in Toronto Canada and went to school with a lot of people from the middle east. My personal opinion regarding foreign entanglements revolves around volunteerism, free-market capitalism, and political education namely the reason for the separation of church and State.
One of the main reasons I’m against financial protectionism in Western Democratic societies is because it sends the wrong message about the economic sustainability of nations like the United States, Canada, Australia, along with Western and Scandanavian Europe. When price controls are enacted into Western Democracy, this higher barrier to entry allows countries run by dictators to lower their prices and manipulate their currencies which then obviously allow for dictators to gain more power and influence within their own country as their people’s money is often worthless.
Now, often one form of protectionism is met with another form of protectionism and this allows countries run by dictators to blame economic hardships on foreign nations. Free market capitalism would have toppled the Iranian regime long-ago. The USSR fell not because of war but because of economics. Government enforced price and wage controls which is protectionism don’t allow for the people to free themselves from tyranny. No, if Western Nations didn’t have price controls there’s a myth that foreigners would take all the jobs, that’s only true if you don’t believe that our system of individualistic governance under our Republics isn’t worth defending.
People tend to self deport when there’s no Welfare State, we have laws that protect our liberties and freedoms and when people can comprehend this, they easily understand why protectionism isn’t necessary for Western Societies to flourish. Now, being perfectly honest, I’m not a huge fan of democracy, I don’t think every country even wants democracy, what most humans want is freedom, humans don’t want to be oppressed by Government, Religion or other oppressive laws or individuals who wish to force others to do things they don’t want to do.
In the Muslim world, there’s a myth that all Muslims want to be under Sharia Law or that Muslims want the church and state to be merged. This is a lie, most Muslims are simply scared to speak up out of fear of the repercussions. Religion is huge in most Muslim regions of the world, and oftentimes family members will sell-out other family members out to the leaders in the Islamic world. So only the people who have pledged their allegiance to a particular Islamic ideology often feel comfortable enough to speak publically about anything!
I as an individual and the opinions I hold dear would put me and my family’s life in danger in most Islamic countries. Now, I get it, no foreign entanglements, but where I disagree with Ron Paul is the assumption that 1 million Iraqis speak for the 36 million Iraqis that live in Iraq. Some say the protest was at most 100,000 but I’ll argue it might have been 1 million or maybe even two million, but there are 36+ million people currently living in Iraq and 2/18 max showed up to support getting rid of the U.S and Iranian forces?
Now, I agree that Democracy might not be the best form of governance for a region like Iraq, but I’m not sure how to interpret the information of a certain segment of the Iraqi population protesting? Now, what I don’t want is for these Iraqis to become refugees and start marching towards Europe and making pleas refugee claims for Canada and America.
Being that Canada, America and many parts of Europe practice Price and wage controls in their economy, you’re essentially giving refugees an undeserved pay increase at the expense of the taxpayers if they begin to leave their countries. Ron Paul should know that Refugees in this current Leftist run media party will garner a lot of sympathy from people on Welfare, who will assume these refugees will be the people who secure their retirements.
The last wave of Refugees that arrived in Canada, many aren’t working or they’re looking for the right type of job, plus many of the refugees in Canada that arrived from the middle east are growing their presence politically and they have more babies than the people contributing most to the Welfare State, so this is where I do not understand Libertarians.
Ron Paul spends a lot of time talking about the Federal Reserve and little time talking about the Unionized Public Sector, which for me is the real problem. There’s a demand for the U.S dollar, a large number of people all over the world are comfortable with America being the policemen of the world.
Personally, I think America should stick to its constitution, however, strategically, simply pulling out from wars without first having the support of the U.S people as to how the economy will be run, with all the foreigners already in U.S politics affecting the way laws are passed? How about addressing the elephant in the room which are the entitled Public Servants and Unionists distorting wages and prices.
You can’t have a Libertarian utopia when there are Wage and Price controls. A gold standard won’t stop wage and price controls, in fact a gold standard at this stage would enrich the government and their employees even more at the expense of the private citizen and private sector workforce.
Also as I’ve stated before Gold and Silver mining companies get unionized very quickly once the workers realize that the company they’re working for all of sudden has an influx of capital, potentially coming from the likes of actual rich individuals and rich countries.
There’s a reason why under a gold standard, some people thought Tobacco and other commodities could also be used as currency. In this era, Bitcoin could legitimately be considered money to be traded or hoarded. Technology is in actuality is a combination of multiple commodities as well as human ingenuity. There are times when I agree with Libertarians then there are times when I feel they’re being short-sighted!
I’m not a fan of central banking, but if you’re not talking about the bloated public sector, price and wage controls I’ll have a hard time comprehending why you believe a world without a central will all of sudden change human behavior to control Prices and Wages!
Interesting times ahead!
