The problem with jump-starting an indebted country – a wage-subsidy program aimed at keeping Canadians working – April 4, 2020,
The government protects liberties and freedoms, the government enforces property rights, aside from that anything else does is interfering with productivity. The imagination by many is that the printing o money has somehow made us better and made life easier, no, the printing of money has allowed the unproductive to imagine that they’re indeed producing value to the economy.
The printing of money allows socialism to flourish, although I’d personally prefer a hard currency, the reality is bartering which is real money requires education. Most people imagine the salesperson or the concept of bartering an ugly way of doing business.
The concept that one person might get the Better of a bartered transaction makes most people in the back of the minds imagine that capitalism isn’t sustainable and this is what of course introduces us to Liberalism. Liberals are different from Socialists in that they believe that the Government should do some intervention in social and economic affairs, but ultimately Liberalism leads to Socialism as lies are able to part of the culture and the society.
The ugly truths of human nature, the reality that taking personal responsibility is part of the human experience and with patience, hard work and your own pursuit of personal economic happiness under the law you will succeed has been replaced with the Communist dogma of the Government or a central authority should own the means of production.
Christians had to face the reality of the separation of church and state, Christians had proven time and time again their ability to build great societies, but the truth is truth and when you a force a person to join a religion, then you’re opening the doors for a king, a queen or a dictator!
The separation of church and state was a battle won by the Liberals, however that was their last moral victory, since then Liberals have for the most part been trying to play the role of the church and unlike the church, Liberals aren’t led by a fixed moral compass, Liberals moral compass is ever-changing, ever-evolving and time of time Liberals seem to turn into Socialists and then into authoritarians!
It’s kind of a natural progression for the Liberals to want to micro-manage everything, I’d like to imagine that when Liberals come up with registration laws that they imagine that they’re doing what’s right for humanity, unfortunately, this is not so and the COVID-19 is exposing people like Donald Trump and Justin Trudeau for the authoritarians they really are.
Now, although I admire a lot of things about Donald Trump I call a spade a spade, I’d rather Donald Trump as a leader over Justin Trudeau, but only because I think he’s smarter. I can stomach Trump, Trudeau for someone like me is an embarrassment, I can’t believe Canadians voted for this man twice!
Furthermore, I’d like to remind Canadians that we were in debt prior to COVID-19 and one month into this COVID-19 not only renters but MORTGAGE HOLDERS can’t make their monthly payments. Think about that for a moment. Typically financially responsible people buy houses, the financially irresponsible or the poor are usually the people who rent!
Last time I checked the mortgage market in Canada was heavily regulated? I thought Canada had mortgage insurance, Don’t people in Canada qualify for a mortgage based on something like 2% or 4% higher mortgage interest rates? What’s going on here? What’s the point in regulations if after 1 month, let me repeat that after 1 month, Canadians already can’t make their mortgage payments.
Now, I and everybody else would understand if renters couldn’t make their rent payments because renters are typically associated with people who are barely getting by, but now we’re talking about mortgages, we’re talking about people who were willing to pay a premium or luxury price for the privilege of calling themselves homeowners not able to make their mortgage payments.
Nobody sees anything wrong with 500, 000 people in a nation of only 38 million, not being able to pay their mortgage payments only 1 month into the COVID-19 epidemic?.
Do people really believe things are going to get back to normal after this? Well, I guess I’ll be optimistic too. In regards to wages, so yea, this is why minimum wages are something I’m against because all of these liberal price distortions in the Canadian economy makes it impossible for the government to deal with a wage subsidy.
If over 500,000 unproductive Canadians become productive again, the money they deferred is going to still pile up 75% of their wages clearly means that their cost of living is too high which equates to their inability to pay down debt and save for a raining day and let’s not imagine that this 75% wage subsidy doesn’t need to be paid back!
You see this is why a country needs manufacturing jobs, namely low skilled manufacturing jobs, and no minimum wages. Because during actual times of crisis we are all collectively as Canadians supposed to fix this. Now, we’re in a position that we have to import to fix this and being that Justin Trudeau implemented a carbon tax it will cost more to import goods into the Canadian economy, which means the cost of living is going up.
Adding to the disaster is what appears to be Donald Trump’s call to raise the price of OIL! Now, I’ve been saying for years now, Justin Trudeau is so lucky Donald Trump is President because the world has been enjoying very low oil prices, that could easily all reverse and because Canada’s oil and gas sector is under attack by Trudeau’s cabinet, Canada could be have some serious economic problems heading its way. I’ll stop now I don’t want to sound all doom and gloom. Let’s hope for the best!
Interesting times ahead!
