In pursuit of Profits and Liberty: The COVID-19 crisis has exposed Canada’s shameful treatment of Medical Professionals – April 18, 2020,
So, when it comes to central or government control over any industry, a lot depends on the central government authority figures and how they handle particular situations. Freedom or security is often the question a person needs to ask themselves, which do you prefer, and even if you prefer security do you prefer government security or market security? Market security brings about abundance, Government security brings about scarcity.
In the short term Government security often appears to be the superior FM of security, but in time the Government goes bankrupt because government institutions were never created to appease the consumer, government institutions were meant to protect the government from being forced to downsize.
Canada similar to Sweden has a Universal Health Care System, the difference in Canada being that Canadians have lost sight of the importance of having a market for health care. I’m not against all forms of regulations, but when the government creates wage and price control regulations, while at the same time devaluing your currency it becomes increasingly hard to attract the best and brightest.
The mainstream media in Canada whether it be the Political Left or the Political Right often likes to ignore the People who matter the most when it comes to health care. The health care worker, now, I’ll be frank I’m an open borders guy, I’m not a protectionist, but I’m also against the welfare state, I don’t believe that Canada should GOVERNMENT administered welfare and if we do wan a giant welfare state in Canada, let’s stop pretending like productive people aren’t necessary to pay for the people who don’t want to work.
I’m against welfare when there’s a minimum wage, Sweden does not have government-regulated salaries. On a national level, Sweden has no minimum wages! If you’re a Bernie Sanders supporter and you want Swedens Socialism, comprehend that the Swedes understand basic economics, it’s impossible to know how impoverished your country really is when you have a wage control.
A minimum wage is an excuse not to hire and it’s an excuse not to work, if you want to join a labour union who want to get you a higher wage, you should be free to do so, but a labour union shouldn’t be dictating wages all over the country, because minimum wages are price distortions, minimum wages also make an economic recovery more difficult and right now as I’m writing this, medical professionals in Canada are having to work, while a lot of Canadians do not have to be productive.
Understand if I go to work in Canada, I have to pay for transportation costs, I’m probably eating more, I’m probably more stressed meaning I might be spending more on leisure activities so my costs of living is going up, which equates to main that even if I get a pay increase during COVID-19, my cost of living, my present and future purchasing power is going down, while other Canadians are getting free money from the government for not doing anything?
Now, when the National Post or any News outlet says The COVID-19 crisis has exposed Canada’s shameful treatment of its elderly, what are they really saying?
Staffing in many cases is a constant struggle, with ongoing shortages, inadequate wages and loose regulations.
Excuse me loose regulations? Does the writer of that post know what’s like to be a Nurse in Canada? Furthermore, the union protectionist culture is one that says, the government is the administrator of proper health care, most Canadians, if they had a choice, would do what a lot of people in America do, hire someone possibly from a foreign country to take care of them! Most old people don’t want to be in nursing homes they’d rather be taken care of in their own home, people in Canada, for the most part, settle for government-regulated medical care because the Government made the cost of living too high!
I imagine that the Canadian people, don’t comprehend cause and effect, I think when most Canadians imagine regulations, they think of it as something FREE, something simple, pull this government lever here and push that government button there and wham bam everything will be fine.
No, when you regulate something fewer people want to get involved in it! humans aren’t robots, medical professionals aren’t robots and I’d like to tell all the medical professionals who are actually doing these jobs I appreciate what you do, although many of you disagree with me I think your goal while trying to help people should be to PURSUE PROFITS!
What type of piece of crap union would allow Justin Trudeau to give away money, while our health care workers at bare minimum get a little tiny raise for lifting and flipping over and caring for old people who contracted COVID-19? The health care professionals in Canada didn’t create COVID-19, these writers write with a sense of entitlement, one of the reasons I’m not a fan of Universal health care is this concept medical professional have to do this or that or can’t go on strike? Teachers go on strike, Canada Post goes on Strike, rail workers go on strike and these Government-owned entities often go on strike at a time when it’s most effective.
Right now COVID-19 is not only killing patients it’s killing our medical professionals. A lot of Canadians don’t understand how entitled they sound, yes people are dying in their homes due to COVID fears because there are a lot of Canadians who are considerate.
Canadians aren’t all evil like a lot of you government scumbags, for many Canadian they don’t want to be a strain on the system. Whenever I go to a hospital I’m so glad I don’t have to work there. If I was sick with COVID-19, I think I’d want to die in my home too. I don’t want to go to a hospital and spread it to everyone, like a lot of media people are so selfish that they can’t see beyond their own demonic nature. Not everyone thinks the way you do!

What the Chinese Communist Party did allowing this virus to spread is evil, but let’s be realistic please, you want minimum wages, welfare, price controls, rent controls, regulations, carbon taxes, higher taxes, and government help from cradle to grave well, the downside to this is fewer people are going to want to help! Regulations equate to a person going to jail or having their life ruined because they failed to meet the barrier to entry!
That’s what a government regulation is, it sounds nice it sounds simple it even has benefits when the law is first passed, but humans aren’t stupid when I see an overly regulated environment I flee from it, I don’t want anything to do with it. If I somehow find myself in a heavily secured environment I look for the nearest exit and if there is no exit there is a chance that I may simply suffer in silence.
A lot of Canadians are suffering in silence and I’m sorry to hear and read about the loss of life, but if you’re not a health care professional you’re a non-factor. It doesn’t take long to become a nursing assistant if you care so much take the course or better yet volunteer your time and energy to bathing and clothing old people! You go do it, experience it bask in it, then tell me how you feel when you’re told to do it 5-7 days a week, with the government breathing down your neck telling you to follow their regulations. Tell me how you feel then!
If you’re a medical professional consider pursuing profits! Because no matter what you do these pro-government people want you to do more and more and more… Work to secure your own retirement, if these teachers and other government workers can push around the government for more money and more financial benefits while doing 1/3 the work you do, consider pursuing PROFITS! I’m a capitalist and I’m proud of it!
