Rachel Notley says Alberta government will impose oil production cuts for the province
Because I don’t go a day without reading something, and trying to learn something new or engage in conversations that make me think, I typically have to take a step outside of myself when I attempt to view the world from the mind of a protectionist. So, what’s a protectionist? Protectionism is rooted in Nativism, which in many ways is rooted in fear of the unknown. Something is working why should we consider alternative options? Why should we step outside of our comfort zones, why should we take less money to learn more skills?
Because I was raised as a Christian I never had a desire to make money, my desire as a child was to know what the adults knew and being that I was raised in a poorer section of Toronto Canada I was always baffled at the public school system. In my mind, I thought it would be common sense for the teachers to put me in a trade school, as a young teen I wanted to be a plumber, I knew I was a dumb kid, I hated classes I hated having to listen to all these female teachers who were trying to teach me subjects I wasn’t interested in and I couldn’t stand most of the male teachers who all seemed rather comfortable, conservative and docile.
Get me the hell out of here I used to tell myself, being that I like many other young men in the poorer parts of town grew up in a single parent household and obviously a mother can only do so much, but I couldn’t understand why our public school system in Ontario was the way it was, in my head I was thinking don’t these teachers understand that we’re going to have inherited and maintained this metropolis, why are they wasting time teaching us theory when obviously what we needed was some practical experiences.
I’ve long said the Alberta doesn’t have an Oil problem, Alberta has an entrepreneurial problem, Albertans fixation with digging oil out of the ground and getting it the hell out of the country as soon as possible is why I’ve never really taken a positive stance towards the Albertan economy. Sorry Canada, the answer to our economy is simple but it requires a systematic change of how we think, we have to get rid of this protectionist state of mind. The main problem isn’t Justin Trudeau, the problem is us, I’ve been saying for a while now it wouldn’t surprise me if Justin Trudeau won another term as Prime Minister, I’d actually prefer he win, I’d just prefer Justin win with a minority house.
I read and listen to Canadians all the time and they’re lost, I’ve listened to Faith Goldy and her fixation on Race and immigration and she thinks that’s the most important problem facing Canada right now? She’s a moron when Canada has no money the people who are only using our country for the free stuff will self-deport. The problem in Canada right now is us, many of us have sold out our country for a fast buck. All I hear about is high paying jobs, get the pipeline built, bring jobs back. I don’t hear much about entrepreneurship, and creating a Canada that’s friendly not only to foreign business people but domestic ones too.
Clearly, Rachel Notley wants to change the Albertan economy to something greener or environmentally friendly, but what she doesn’t get is that Canadians aren’t entrepreneurial so, even if she could do things her way, the Canadian economy would still be stagnant. Canada has a lot of supply management systems in place in almost every sector and because of these monopolies Canadians have become complacent and lazy, why compete when government legislation can keep competition out? Alberta has a bunch of oil sitting idle, the question is why? Why can’t Albertans find other uses for the oil they dig out of the ground? Why do Albertans have this desire to get their oil out of the country in raw form as soon as possible? Why are Canadians not using the oil? We’re not using the oil because most Canadians have no idea of the number of different things people can do with oil, we haven’t been taught we haven’t been exposed to it.
We’ve been taught to sell all we have to the Americans or the Chinese or whoever will buy it because we’ve made the decision that we’re not smart enough to create anything with it and this is why Alberta is struggling, even though Canada needs oil, no Albertan has made it their business to make Alberta important to the rest of Canada. The reason the pipelines can’t get built is that most of the other provinces don’t really see how it benefits them? Are they wrong for thinking like this? I don’t think they are, again Albertans dig the oil out of the ground and try to get it the hell out of Canada as soon as possible. Sure this makes Canada richer, but can you see why Canadians don’t have any deep-rooted connection with Alberta.
In Ontario when I go to the Gas station it would have been nice if the crown corporation known as Petro Canada had on the gas pump, that this gas came from Alberta, or if when I went to Canadian tire and I was purchasing motor oil, it said made in Alberta, or if I was purchasing household cleaners and those cleaners said made in Alberta, maybe then as a Canadian it comes into my consciousness of how important Alberta is to Canada, but no, Alberta isn’t engraved in the Canadian psyche, which is why when Albertans are going through hardships, Canadians don’t care.
This short-sighted approach by Alberta to again dig the oil out of the ground and get it the hell out of Canada, makes Canadians assume that Alberta isn’t all that important. Sure Albertans are feeding the poorer provinces, but do really think the average Canadian knows that? or even cares, the bottom line is life is great and until it’s not we’re not going to pay attention to Alberta. I’m no fan of Rachel Notley but I don’t think voting her out is going to solve the problem, what’s going to solve the problem is for Albertan entrepreneurs to start consuming the oil they’re taking out of the ground. In America this is what they do, you find Texas promoting itself all over America.
All the socialist idiots in bankrupt California are finding their way into Texas because it’s a well-known fact that Texans are rich and an important source of America’s wealth. Now you might assume that if the socialist take of Texas that Texans will stop making money? You’ll be wrong to think that, entrepreneurship is a state of mind, a lot of the people that turn a profit off of Alberta’s oil aren’t even Canadian, which is why a lot of Albertans have been brainwashed into digging their oil out of the ground and getting it the oil out of Canada as soon as possible. When you’re not in business, you don’t think the way business people think you instead think the way a protectionist person thinks.
Oh no, these foreigners are coming to invade? Big deal, if you’re armed, prepared and not dependent on the government to survive who cares who comes to your country. It’s the people that have sold their souls for money and lost the ability to barter, the people who don’t believe in freedom, the people who want welfare or universal income, it’s those people you should fear the most, they’re the leeches and these people are black, white, south and east Asian, middle eastern, first nations these people come in all shapes, sizes and races. It’s these people that choose protectionism over freedom which leads a country down the road of destruction.
We use fiat money? Money isn’t the problem, deficits are the problem, debt is the problem, this concept that we can get something for nothing, this is the problem, once the pigs get lazy and fat, easily solvable problems become more and more difficult. How educated are Albertans about the many uses of the oil they dig out of the ground? Wake up, Alberta.
