Trump signs US-Korea free trade agreement – Hey, Canada what’s your excuse?

South Koreans are very industrious, and recently as you can see by watching the video below, Trump signs US-Korea free trade agreement. That’s a complete free trade agreement, free trade meaning no barriers, no tariffs, no supply management nothing, free trade, tariff-free. Wow! what an interesting time to be a Canada, our country is straddled with debt, our prime minister is a social justice economic buffoon and protectionism appears to be embedded into our culture.

I honestly don’t think a lot of Canadians understand what’s going on. I personally do business with the Chinese and one of the things that stand out about the Chinese men that I’ve met is their affection for South Korean culture. They love a lot of the South Korean K-Pop stars, they love the South Korean culture and some of the freedoms afforded to South Korea that they can’t enjoy in China.

South Korea is also an ally of the United States and very dependent on the U.S in the event the North Koreans start a war with them. These trade deals may sound minor, but don’t forget that Trump has already signed a trade deal with Mexico, this actually helps South Korea in several ways when they’re doing trade with the United States. Canada was one of the first countries to get the offer of a Bilateral trade deal, we said no, we’ll wait on Mexico, well Mexico got their own bilateral trade deal with the United States and Canada is now on the outside looking in.

Guess what South Korea does very well? Manufacturing, they also do manufacturing cheaper than Canada does, South Korea also has their own Cars, Television sets, smartphones, and the infrastructure to wipe Canada out of the U.S market. Who knows maybe in time this deal with Korea goes to the dogs, but it’s unlikely because of South Koreas reliance on the United States. Canada should be wondering if it’s taking the right approach to trade. I said months ago that if Canada wanted to start a trade war with the United States they’d be better offer cutting taxes and cutting regulations to completely disarm Trumps ability to muscle them around. Well, now Canada, Trump has effectively made you useless.

South Korea signed a Free trade deal with the United States, South Korea signed a Free Trade deal with the United States, South Korea signed a Free Trade deal with the United States if you listen to the interview you can almost hear the nervousness or excitement while the South Koreans were speaking, because they’re obviously worried or excited about the American made products coming into South Korea, however I started this post by saying the “industrious South Koreans”, these people know how to build things, these people know how to compete, I’m sure things will get uncomfortable for them at first but chances are they’ll find a way to make it work.

Oh, Canada, you’re in the worst position economically in your countries history and I’m not even sure you realize it yet.
