Unifor and Jerry Dias Strikes Again: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles is cutting the third shift at its Windsor Assembly Plant beginning June 29 – February 28, 2020,
The concept of Marxism revolves around a collective group attempting to trap wealth and stifle innovation. This ideology often works temporarily if enough wealth is invested in a particular company or a particular industry. But in order to maintain and build, new innovations often replace the old. In the event, new innovations aren’t allowed to replace the old ideas and concepts via a collective group blocking it, not even Nationalization can prevent the inevitable decline of that collective organization.
Is there ever a time when you don’t need a Labour Union? Imagine employees had the option to quit a job they didn’t like? Oh, wait! That does exist, ok, ok, well imagine the Canadian government had passed labour laws which prevented employers from exploiting their employees? oh, wait… That does exist? Well, tell me again, why does a company need a union? My answer: Collective Bargaining is fun, Comradery that’s what makes Marxism so appealing. A large collective group going up against the greedy minority?
Well, here’s the thing about collective bargaining, oftentimes, the employees don’t understand the competitive nature of the business they’re in. The best part of being an employee is that you don’t have to care about sales, in your mind as an employee, your job is to do your work and go home, you let your collective bargaining representative do all that business stuff for you.
Now, in the event you’re unaware of how collective bargaining works in the Private Sector, it’s basically a shakedown. The average human doesn’t understand business nor do they care to understand, so even when the Union Representative is destroying the company you work for, you as an employee, don’t see it that way, you as an employee, don’t look at the company you work for and your union representative in the same manner as a separated couple both with separate lawyers dueling over who gets what during a divorce!
If a union knew how to make a profitable business, they would. I know quite a few former Union heads, who started their own business. But, you see, then there are Union characters like Jerry Dias. From my perspective, Jerry Dias reminds me of a career politician, the problem with being a career politician is your limited exposure to the real world. Bernie Sanders was a career politician, Bernie Sanders was debating from in his teens, however Bernie Sanders never started his own business, so he has no connection with how hard it is to build and maintain a business.
Bernie Sanders only knows the world of Politics, so Bernie Sanders tends to view the Private Sector the way Dictator would view his subjects. The democracy or the mob wants this, “I will not challenge the demands of the people, I’ll embrace it.” The place democracy works best is how people spend their money, not how middle man in the form of a union leader or politician redistributes it. Democratic Socialism or Mobb rule is the equivalent to a referee of Hockey game, making calls based on the demands of the home teams crowd.
When you meet an individual who doesn’t challenge the minds of the people he represents it’s a sign of a horrible leader. Good union leaders explain both sides of the argument to the people they represent. When you meet a good lawyer, the lawyer will prepare you for how the opposition might respond to your demands.
As an example, imagine your wife was divorcing you and she wanted half of your stuff but what she didn’t realize was that everything she thought the two of you owned collectively actually belonged to your son from a previous marriage? How would she be able to take half of nothing?

Jerry Dias was involved in NAFTA renegotiations with Donald Trump, even if you don’t like Donald Trump, it’s important to remember Donald Trump presided over building expensive Hotels for a living. Part of being successful involved Donald Trump doing deals with people he didn’t like and probably didn’t agree with. What this means is saying NO to people, declining their advances, being upfront and exercising brain muscles that are usually left dormant in average individuals.
If you’re simply a representative of the mob, the mob might be unaware when the husband puts all of his assets in his sons name! While GM and Chrystler shrink in size in Ontario, Toyota grows, currently, Toyota employee haven’t been dumb enough to allow Jerry Dias and UNIFOR in. If you’re of the mindset that GM and Chrysler are on the decline, I think you’re wrong, what’s on the decline are labour unions. As an employee, you must understand that if you’re going to have a labour union make sure those individuals are smart and also know the difference between a Private Sector Union and a Public Sector Union.
Crown Corporations are State-owned enterprises, so as an example a Canada Post workers has a lot more leverage than GM or Chrysler worker would. Canada Post has no competition, GM and Chrysler did. If you’re dumb enough to support Public School teachers in their desire to get more money for the same amount of work at the expense of the taxpayer, understand that the public school teachers union has a lot more leverage than a GM or Chrysler private sector labour union has. I live in Toronto if the TTC(Public transit workers) go on strike, they have way more leverage than a GM or Chrysler worker has.
Marxism revolves around the monopolization of power in the hands of a government if you don’t believe in the nationalization of private industry, be wiser about what union you join. A good paycheck is better than no paycheck and if you believe in Marxism consider living in China, Cuba, Venezuela or Russia before you promote Marxism in Canada.
