So, recently a new article came to my attention that Western Union will stop allowing Canadians to stop sending money to Cuba. So I just wanted to give my readers alternatives that I know about, these alternatives are online-based and might cost more than Western Union, furthermore, these alternatives might also be more of an inconvenience for your Cuban recipients, but currently, this is the best I could find.
Based on my reviews and what I know riamoneytransfer.com is legit and not a scam, however, don’t expect them to be an exact replica of Western Union, they have their own process. I’d try them before trying the second option because at the very least there appears to be a legitimate willingness for RIA Money Transfer to expand into more retail outlets. I know of RIA Money Transfer mainly because of the work I do with an international dating service called A Foreign Affair, now the individual that informed me about RIA Money Transfer wasn’t sending money to Cuba, o keep that in mind.
The second recommendation is duales.com, which I know a lot less about, duales appears to be more targeted towards Cuba only, so they’re definitely worth considering, call them and get better informed about the services they offer.
